About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

My Junk Journal Class

 Good Morning All

On Thursday I am holding a Junk Journal class for beginners at my local craft shop.

This is a very very simple one I have made to show them the process to get them started.

This has been made using all stuff from my vast stash!!

I have not printed and papers from kits, only bits I already have printed, as I just want to show them what can be done with out really spending any money.

The cover is made from a Kraft file folder cut in half and covered using

a book page and afew bits I already had.

I am supplying everything for them so I shall be getting rid of alot of my bits and bobs.

Inside front cover.  Paint splatted paper

Tuck pocket using a book page

Double pockets using a text book page

Tiny books made from offcuts of paper and held in place with tiny bellybands.
Now these really are scraps.

Inside the back cover and 3 mini envelopes ticked into a triple corner pocket made from another book page.

All tied together with seam binding.

Thanks for visiting and wish me luck for Thursday.

Happy Sunday & Challenge

 Good Morning All

Wow it is getting cold here in the mornings, yesterday it felt really cold while walking Rico, probably not as cold as some of you are getting and I am not moaning!!

The challenge I set my Craft Club ladies and you is to use Autumn colours and I used the tags I showed the other day and yesterdays Allsorts  make for samples.

The reason I am making lots of Junk Journal stuff is that I am doing a class at the craft shop on Thursday!!!
So getting lots of stuff together to show the class what they can make.

No boxes to show this week as I am still using boxes that John and I emptied during lockdown.
Naughty US!!!!!!

The challenge last week was CAS

Autumn Colours for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge time again with a theme of

Autumn Colours.

I was in the middle of repairing a Junk Journal  and noticed a bag at the back of it that needed a tag and a large tag at that, so here it is. I got to work straight away and made this from Kraft card.

It is decorated with all bits from my stash, in my Junk journal box - butterflies, die cuts, a pocket which I made another tag for.

The tag is nearly the size of the page the pocket is stuck onto.

And this is a pic the tag taken out of the pocket..

I,m really happy with this.

Botanical Tags.

 Good Morning All

I have been making bits to add to my latest junk journal that has a theme of Botanical.

One of my lovely Craft Club ladies, Dawn, has been bringing me some lovely books she gets from the Charity shop and they are mostly based on flowers so are perfect for my latest journal.

Here are afew tags I have made.I used Creative Expressions die to cut them out then added some of the pages, torn and inked.

Then added an image.

I tore strips of material and stapled in place.

These will be used to tuck in the pockets.

As it is getting darker in the evenings now when I take Rico for his last walk of the day.
I saw this wonderful spiders web right across a light in a little park area near our house.
I had to take my phone out to see if I could get a good pic.

And abit closer.  If anyone saw me they would have thought I was batty but it was too pretty not to.

Clusters for Junk Journals

 Good Morning All

I made some clusters to adorn my Junk Journal at the weekend.

I use these to stick on the corner of a page or on pockets.

I stick them on pockets like these I made from Vellum and book pages.

Great fun.

Thank you for visiting.

Showcase Colour for Crafty Ribbons

 Good Afternoon All

Crafty Ribbons are having a Showcase week for Colours and my colour is BROWN.

I matted all onto brown card and used Crafty Ribbons Brown Dotty Ribbon and Seam Binding

I used an image that was in my box and I think it from a company called Pink CAts (not sure if they are still trading, I dont think they are)

I must have coloured it years ago.

I used quite afew scraps left on my desk.  It was a quick card as when I made it, it was so hot in my craft room.

Here is the link to Crafty Ribbons Facebook Page.
