About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Quilled Picture

Good Morning All

Here is my quilled picture that I did at a class Val J and I attended.

This is Val's cat.

Another ladies work using lots of colours.

Love this one with lots of flowers on black card.
Excuse the fact that you can see me taking the picture reflected in the glass!!!!

And this is what we are working on next, the lady with the long dress and hopefully, the Ballerina after that.

Quilled heart

Good Morning All

As some of you may know, myself and Val J have been going to a quilling class.
I will show you what we have made in another post but here is  a smaller item.
We are learning how to quill different shapes and make them into a picture, my big project is an elephant.
But here is a heart I  made at home but using the same method of outlining the shape with a quilling strip.

And here is the card I made with it.
I love it.

I used off cuts of corrugated paper Eve gave me at Craft Club.
(I have been making boxes with it for the ladies)

Added one of my bows and some paper roses and leaves.
Random heart gems.

Love it

'B' for Allsorts

Good Morning All
Brenda, our team leader wants to see things beginning with the letter 'B' over at
  Allsorts Challenge this week.
As I always use Butterflies for  B challenge I decided to go with Baby instead.
I found some sweet Humphrey toppers from Crafters Companion in my stash, matted onto a scalloped circle.
I printed some backing paper 'It's A Girl'

Added one of my satin bows and ribbon.

Used the smaller  topper to make a gift tag.

I had a die cut elephant on my desk so decided to add that to the inside.

Two prizes beginning with 'B' on offer this week

More cards for Postpals

Good Morning All

Here are 3 more cards I am sending to Postpals.
When I made these I pulled some offcuts of paper and card from my stash.
I matted and layered them to make the backing for these cards.

I have quite a stack of cards that my Craft Club ladies have made to take with me to post in UK.
I pay for all the postage from any sales I make of cards in the local bar or embellishments on here and Facebook.

UK Here I come

Good Morning All

I am flying to UK tonight.
When I go there I always take cards that some of my Craft Club ladies have made to send to Post Pals.
Obviously, it is abit cheaper to post there than here in Spain.
I pay for all the postage, I use the money I take from any sales of my cards and embellishments.
Anyway, here are 3 cards I made from scraps.
Whenever I am doing any die-cutting, I run some scraps through with a tiny circle die to make a wiggly worm for these cards.
Stick 2 wobbly eyes on.

Off cuts from corrugated card and a couple of die cuts from my stash.

This last one is made from a card a lady in USA sent to me as a thank you card.
Her name was drawn in one of my sketch challenges and I sent her a little gift.

When I am getting them ready to post, I look at the profile of the child to see what age they are and which card will be suitable.
I hope they bring a little smile to their faces.

Craft Club Gifts & Sketch

Good Morning All

Fridays gifts for my Craft Club girls were these cute Triangle boxes.
I put a chocolate inside and added a couple of dangle charms with twine to the ribbon tie for them to use on their own creations.

********************
I had some wonderful entries last week and there were 12 which was great.
Christine was the name drawn so she received Johns set of stamps.
A link to my Facebook Page
This week the sketch will run for 2 weeks as I am going to UK on Tuesday for 1 week.
Visiting John Next Door and my younger son and family.
Also, catching up with Debbie, a swap partner who lives near Ricky.
This sketch is a little bit more challenging I think.

I made a Birthday card for my sister, who's Birthday is in April.
The papers were free in a magazine.
The Rose paper was gifted to me in a swap.

I will give another set of Johns Stamps for the name drawn - Autumn Child

A Song for MAWTT

Good Morning All
Mrs Duck (Ang) has chosen the theme this time for Moving Along With The Times,  and it is the 2nd verse of All Kinds of Everything sang by Dana, younger people may not remember this one !!!!
She used the 1st verse in a previous challenge.
Seagulls and aeroplanes
Things of the sky

Winds that go howlin'

Breezes that sigh

City sights

Neon lights

Grey skies or blue

All kinds of everything remind me of you

1st line is Seagulls and Aeroplanes so here are Aeroplanes - a great Man card.
I used Joanna Sheen signature die of a fighter plane.
I kept the embellishments to a minimum.
Sorry that the photo has made the Mirri / holograph  card look yellowish.

Happy Birthday Vals

Good Morning All

My two friends, Val J and Val C both have birthdays today.

I made Val J's card ages ago and posted it for an Allsorts DT card HERE.
It was A Christina box die and card in Black & White.
Well here is the card I made for Val C.

Sadly the embossing does not show up too well, but it is from the Papercraft Essentials magazine that Sandra from Cotswold Crafter Blog kindly posted to me.

And Val J had brought the Sentiment stamp set & Die to match,  to Craft Club so I stamped afew of them to take home.
Added afew butterflies.
A pretty card.

*****************
In the swap group I am in on Facebook, we have just completed a swap of making at least 3 Stick Pins and packaging them nicely.
Here are the ones I received from Debbie Vignola in Florida USA.

A gorgeous Pi cushion too.

And here is my parcel to Debbie.

These are lace Stick Pins.

I made this card using a Bugaboo digi and  JND heat embossed butterflies and dragonflies.

Raffle prize

Good Morning All
On Facebook I am in a group for Crafters Chat in Spain and the lady that administrates for it is holding a raffle to raise money for ...... I think it is an animal charity.
I had made this Pram Blanket for no-one in particular, so I decided to donate it.
It is about 36 x 24" and crochet in DK wool.

Here is a close up of the stitch, very pretty.

And talking of animals, here is Lola, growing fast and still as cute as ever.

Craft Club Gifts & Sketch

Good Morning All

Here are the gifts I gave out at my Craft Club on Friday.
Long, thin boxes, about 5 x 1" with a belly band to keep closed.
I added a sentiment tag on each belly band.

Inside I added a gem pick up pencil, and some gems and pearls.

*********
My sketch for this week.
And I am giving a larger prize for the randomly drawn name this week -  a set of John Lockwood Stamps - Summers Child.
You can email me a pic of your card or add a comment on my facebook page and I shall draw a winner next Friday 16th Feb, at my Craft club.
I shall post the name on Saturdays post.

Here is the sketch to follow.

Here is my interpretation.

I used Pixie Powders for the background and a mat made with Gilding Polish.
CE Pierced Ovals.
The Rose paper in the ovals is an A4 sheet free with a magazine that my sister gave me.
The Birthday sentiment is JND.

I love this twine, Jen gave it to me at Craft Club, so pretty.
