About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Hollie my little Groovi girl

Good Morning All

There is no Allsorts post today as the challenge runs for 2 weeks through the Summer.
The current theme is Feminine so pop over to the challenge blg if you fancy entering to win a lovely prize from Swedish House Crafts.

*****************
Hollie

Tess

When Hollie and Tess were here the week before last, we had a short time crafting and Hollie always likes to play with my Groovi stuff.
She is very good and this was her make while she was here.
All her outlines were very good and as I wasn't watching her when she started colouring, she started on the front which is the wrong side for parchment, so 3 leaves were done  on front and 3 on the back.
It still looks OK though.

I told here I would make it into a card for here to give either to her mum or her other Granny for Christmas.
Here it is.

Isn't her outlining very good??

I think we have another Groovier in the family.

Things with Wings for MAWTT

Good Morning All
Moving Along With The Times Challenge is hosted by Jackie Trinder this morning and her theme is
Things With Wings.

I used a sweet Fairy decoupage image backed onto two Embossed pieces of card, one Wild Roses and one Butterflies.
I inked all the edges with Lilac Distress ink.
I used a scrap of pretty paper too that was on my desk, as it had butterflies on I thought it matched the theme.

Pop over to the challenge blog and see the other lovely DT makes.

Triple Easel Card

Good Morning All

Jen, one of my Craft Ladies, makes some lovely, fancy shaped cards and she made a beautiful Triple Easel Heart shaped one.
As I had never made one, she sent me a link HERE  and I set about it.
I do not have nesting hearts so I used Ovals.
I used mostly bits that I had already cut out, to decorate it.

A side view.

The only trouble with this design is that you either have to send it to someone that understands it  or include instructions of how to stand it up.

Now I have to cut some more shapes out as Denise wants to make one at Craft Club on Friday  for a friend.

Christmas in August

Good Morning All
Managed to get a little me time yesterday to do this post, as you know, I have Ricky and family over and my time with  them is very precious.
Hollie and I spent some time yesterday doing Groovi, she is very good at it and gets the right amount of pressure, I shall have to photograph it.
******
Last weeks challenge is running for 2 weeks as I have family over and the craft shop was closed on Friday.
**************

I did this Groovi card a while ago but the Fresh Cut die one only last week.
I sold this card to my friend Mandy as she was having a Christmas party yesterday with some friends that were visiting.
We are all going out this afternoon with my family, their friends and 20 of us altogether.
Giant paella is on the menu!!!!

I thought this Fresh cut die from Clarity would be great for making quick cards.
As it was in the sale in July, it was a great buy.

Boy oh boy was it hot yesterday.
Hope it is all good where you are.

Back to School for MAWTT

Good Morning All
Moving Along With The Times Challenge this time is hosted by Amy with a theme of
Back To School

I was browsing Pinterest and saw an Owl card.
It looked quite easy using some basic shapes.
So I decided to make a card for Hollie.
She likes it when I put her name on.

I liked it so much, I decided to make one for Noah too.
I added some eyelash wool.

I will have to make another one as Aurora starts school in September too and Tess goes to Nursery.

Hop over to the challenge blog to see the DT makes.
We have a 25$ Amazon.com voucher on offer this time.

Clearing out

Good Morning All

Having a clear out of my photo files as it is too hot to do much crafting and having family here.
This card was made way back in February, a simple decoupage image

And this one is one of Johns stamps, simply mounted onto butterfly embossed card.
Some lovely turquoise grosgrain ribbon from Crafty Ribbons (link in sidebar)

These will help keep my boxes stocked up.

Not a card

Good Morning All

Quick posts this week as my two gorgeous granddaughters are here coming tonight with Lorien and Rick.  I pick them up as I drop Johns son and his partner off at the airport, good timing or what!!!!

Well here is a couple of items I made last month.
The first one is a stick pin holder and will go in my Christmas Gift box for my Craft Club ladies, I always try to make their gifts.
I used a small Pringles box, of which I have lots so will make more of these.

****

These little envelopes are for a Junk Journal and they are made from some gorgeous Tissue Paper that was used to wrap some swaps in that I received, far too pretty to throw away so I stuck it to some 160gsm card, used my envelope punch board then I Modge Podged them

So excited the girls are coming tonight.

Happy Sunday

Good Morning All

My little Challenge this week that I set my Craft Club ladies (and yourselves if you wish to play along)
is to show an Animal on your creations, a 4 legged one, NOT a bird or an insect.
One of my ladies, Denise, bought this Groovi plate from Clarity sale page and she kindly let me use it.
I love and think I shall have to borrow it again.
I coloured on the reverse with Polychromo Pencils and under the parchment is a sheet I made with a stencil.

**************
Here are the gifts I gave out to my Craft Club ladies on Friday.
I made a little handbag to hold a 4 sided nail buffer/ file.

Onto last weeks challenge which was this sketch.

One on my newer ladies, Helen (she made the felt mice afew weeks ago)
Borrowed some Groovie plates and tools this week and she made this lovely topper ready to mount onto a card base.
I think I may have another convert.

No craft club next week as the shop is closed and I have my grandkids here.
So the challenge will run for two weeks.
