About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Anything Goes for Allsorts

 Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge this week is

AG with an option of  Mono

I stuck with Mono -  shades of Brown.

I embossed a piece of Kraft card with Paws folder from Creative Expressions and then inked it with Walnut Oxide ink pad to make the paws stand out.

The bone buttons are from Crafty Ribbons (link in sidebar)

I love this pad of Puppy images I bought last year and its great for Man cards too.

I made another card, very similar.
The black card is embossed but doesnt show on the pic.
Once again, the paw buttons are from Crafty Ribbons and I added a tiny offcut from the previous card of the embossed Paw prints.

Showcase 'SPRING' for Crafty Ribbons

 Good Morning All

Crafty Ribbons Showcase this month is SPRING.

This card will probably go to one of my Grandaughters.

I used a cute topper from a sheet from LOTV called Spring.

I used the cut off papers and card and made a band to wrap the ribbon round.

The ribbon, along with other cute animals is available HERE.

I added some Nuevo drops in the corner that Liz from our craft shop gave me for Christmas.

If you pop onto Facebook this week and leave a comment on the main post you may win a prize if your name is drawn out.

*****
I just wanted to show you this Groovi card I made in a Zoom workshop with Hazel Edwards.
It is a large card and all matted onto Indian Summer Designer paper from Clarity.
I love it but there is one mistake, hence the butterfly on the side.

Spring Flowers for Allsorts

Good Morning All

It is Allsorts Challenge time again and  Brenda has chosen the theme of

Spring  Flowers

Our sponsor is Pinksy and she sent us this lovely digi of a Vase of Daffodils to use.

She also provided the lovely backing paper too, they are called Wibbly stripe and come in lots of colours.

I used a Groovi border grid on peachy yellow coloured parchment and I coloured the image with Polychromos.

Notebooks for Charity

 Good Morning All

I have made some more notebooks in Pockets to go in the box to raise funds for La Finca Castellana.

As we are back at slimming group yesterday, I filled another box with goodies - Notebooks, Bookmarks and Cards.

These were made with a freebie from Gi Kerr  - Happiness in Crafting

In the link above you will find all her Freebies in the Files section.

I made the pockets from a gardening book and decorated  with Snippets I had already made for Junk Journals.

I love making these and I found a notebook for 85cents in the China shop so  cut the pages to the size I needed and managed to get 5 from the one book.

*************

I have been making mini books to house my Stick Pins which I have for sale in my Etsy

My Etsy Shop - wendysworksES - https://www.etsy.com/shop/WendysworksES?ref=search_shop_redirect

but if you would like some please

email me or message me on Messenger for price.

Here is a video too.

He sent me a pick of the ones he sent on Sunday and he also sent me some in the post and OMG, if you are a fudge lover you should try these, they are so creamy and yummy and a great range of flavours.

He posts round the UK so have a look on the linked website, you wont be sorry.

Mothers Day

 Good Morning All

This is the Mothers Day card I made for Johns Mum.

I used the Groovi Henry Border grid plate, I did have a bit of trouble getting to grips with this one but managed it in the end.  The centre piece is the Groovi club monthly plate which I coloured with Polychromos.  All matted onto Clarity designer paper.

I do love using the border grid plates but the embossing is not good for my creaky thumb.

After afew restrictions were lifted in UK my Sister was finally able to visit my Mum 1 to 1.
Here is a pic of them both.  Mum is 96.
