About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Abit of a Mix

Good Morning All

Afew cards to show today, trying to sort my picture files out.My lovely team leader at Allsorts Challenge blog, sent me some stamps and she included a tag with them.
Too nice to throw so it went on this card

Here is a Groovi card I made a while ago using a new plate I bought in January for the sentiment.
Mounted onto a base made with a King Charles grid plate.

And this is a doodle I  made into an Anniversary card.

Doodle cards

Good Morning All

I joined a group on Facebook called 'Crafting for Heroes' and the lady is collecting handmade gifts and cards to give to her local hospital to distribute amongst the nurses and staff, to give them abit of a boost.
I chose afew doodles that I thought were good enough and printed them out and made into card toppers so here they are.

I,m also crocheting the mask expanders to send aswell and I will think of other gifts, maybe notebooks for handbags.
I have to watch the weight though as the postage from Spain is more than twice as much as UK.

Crafty Ribbons DT & Happy Sunday Challenge

Good Morning All

It is my turn for a Crafty Ribbons creation today and so, when we had the outbreak of Corona virus you could not buy a face mask for love nor money so I decided to have a go at making my own.
I am not the greatest sewer but where needs must!!!
I followed a tutorial on You Tube or rather looked at afew then went for it.
I tried one but when I wore it it steamed my specs up.
So for this one I added a piece of wire across the nose and it is much better.
It is pleated, quite wide pleats and I used Seam binding as ties and stitched the wire inside it.
It was just wide enough but it serves the purpose I made it for.

As you can see, I can tuck it under my specs.
I would not like to have to wear it all the time but I suppose I would get used to it.
Better to be safe than sorry.
I  wash it each time I use it too

The seam binding comes in loads of colours so is great for adding to any creation.

This weeks  Craft Club challenge  is a Tic Tac toe board.

Any line across, down or diagonal
I did one for Ribbon - Pink - Get Well

Both cards are made using a  Hunkydory kit.

Sherry West Digi

Good Morning All

It is Team 2 turn to host Crafty Friends Challenge this time but as the images from Sherry West were so lovely, I thought I would play along too.
The theme is Ribbons or Lace and I used both.
I cut her out with CE Pierced Ovals and I found the heart one already cut out in my folder, so added that too.
I added a strip of lace across the bottom and the tiny bit that was left over, I added to the sentiment.
Then I added a tiny charm with very thin sating ribbon.

Add a Bow for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Lynn is hosting Allsorts Challenge this week and her theme is

Add A Bow

This was easy for me as nearly every card I make has a bow on it.
When I made this card we were still at craft club before the lock-down and Liz had got some new stamps in from La Blanche.
I couldn't resist this one as I see this type of tree when I am walking Rico, they have big yellowy orange trumpet flowers that hang down.
I only coloured the flowers and backed it onto some card I had stencilled with Izinks.
Added some seam binding and Ric Rac braid across the middle then tied my bow with a sentiment, this ribbon is from Joanna Sheen.

I used some offcuts for the inside

Groovi

Good Morning All

Here are a couple of Groovi cards I made a good while ago.
To be honest, I have not touched my Groovi stuff since lockdown, I dont know why.
I have made this design before and I do like it, quite easy and only abit of snipping out.

This one is a new plate I got in January in the sale.
Backed onto Designer paper.

These two are going in my box for my friends.
****************
When I am out walking Rico I always look at the lovely wild flowers growing.
This was out last evening and I just picked it and thought how wonderful nature is.
The way the petals blend from yellow to white and the edges are so non uniform, just beautiful.

And as wee have had abit of rain on and off there are lots of snails around.
Very often the Spanish people go out with a carrier bag and collect them for cooking but as they are not allowed out to do that at present there are lots around the foot paths.
I have to careful not to stand on them.
I have never seen this long shell before.

Clearly Besotted

Good Morning All
My first card today is an image from Clearly Besotted HERE.
They have some really cute ones too.
I printed this one out and coloured with Polychromos, then made into a card to send to my friend in Uk.

This card is came about because my blog friend June from Poppyfield Cards BlogHas a draw every week and if you win she posts out a card or a gift.
With it she includes a wrapped biscuit tucked into a little pocket she has made.
So I kept the pocket and made it into a card topper. and tucked a tag in it.

So Thank you June.
I wanted to share this you too.
It popped up on Facebook and I thought it was very apt for these times we are living in at present.

Hobbies for Crafty Ribbons

Good Morning All
Crafty Ribbons are having a themes week this week over on Facebook and it is
Hobbies.
I used quite afew designs of ribbon on this fun card.
All the ribbons are available in store HERE
If you comment on the first post on the Facebook page for this theme you will be entered to win a prize.

I want to enter this card into Jo's Sweet Teats Challenge HERE

************************
I also want to wish one of my sisters a Happy Birthday.
Sadly, Sylvia suffers badly with dementia, so I dont think she will even know it is her Birthday.
And sadly, none of her family will be able to visit because of the virus, but I am thinking of her alot today.
