About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Scraps

Good Morning All

Last week at my Craft Club I made these mats for afew cards using some scraps of paper.
I had seen the idea on Pinterest.

I like this one with a darker paper underneath.
And I have used quite afew scraps from my desk too.

Our trip to Sella is off as John has caught the dreaded tummy bug, he was bad yesterdayand I really dont want anyone else to catch it from us, so best if we stay away.
So disappointed though.

I wish you all a very Happy New Year.

Box Card

Good Morning All

Just clearing out my photo file for 2017 so this is my final box card.
People do like this style of card, they are very effective.
The flowers are cut from Centura Pearl paper using CE Perfect Peony die.

Starting t feel back t normal now after a horrible tummy bug.
Hope you are all well and looking forward to New Year.
I was abit worried I wasn't going to make it to Sella, but, touch wood.

They can be decorated with gems or pearls, glitter and more.

Just thought I would show you some of the gorgeous Christmas cards I have received.

I love this one given to me by one of my craft club ladies, Eve.

So effective.

Isn't it amazing??
Well done Jen.

Dont forget John is on Hochanda tomorrow.

Knitted Cowl

Good Morning All

I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas.
********
We are having a very quiet one, going out for an Indian meal, no special menu, then meeting friends for a drink.
******
I saw a pattern for this knitted cowl on Whoot.
I used two strands of double knitting on size 7.5 needles, but probably could have used a larger size.
It grew very quickly and I did it in two days.

This is my version.

I am knitting another one for myself, slightly different though, as I have given this one to my friend as she works in a cold garage all day.

And here is Amanda wearing it

Seasonal Flowers for Allsorts

Good Morning All
Mervi is hosting this weeks challenge for Allsorts
and she wants to see Seasonal Flowers so, of course, I went with Poinsettias.
I made Foamiran ones and I chose a paper with them on too.
I think JND left me this paper pad when he moved back to UK.

A sweet Snowflake charm.

I added a resin star for the centre of the flower.

Decorated Glasses

Good Morning All
I went to a craft class a couple of weeks ago with my Crafty Friend Val J.
It was for Decorating Glasses.
I thought it was Glittering but it was painting them, which, I thought, ended up abit wishy washy.
These are Vals, a turquoise colour.

Between the coats of paint drying, we made these little, cute
hanging decorations from corks.

I decided to add more to my glasses as I thought they were too pale.

When I got mine home I decided to have another go at them.

This one, I mixed Mod Podge with glitter and painted on,
Could do with another coat I think.

And this one, I used Collal varnish glue and add glitter onto it.
I gave it 2 coats then another one of glue on top to seal.

Alot better than the paint I think.

I have a Grey Goose vodka bottle that I want to decorate in this way, but I need to mask off the images of the geese.

I received a Christmas card in the post this week but it was not written in, who is it from????
It is a handmade one, no verse or sentiment inside.

Not A Card for MAWTT

Good Morning All
Moving Along With The Times Challenge over the Christmas period is
Anything But A Card.

I picked up a  plant pot  from a charity shop for afew cents.
It was a sort of lime green and this is when I had painted it in a magnolia colour.

I painted it with chalk paint then with Modge Podge.

Then decorated up Shabby Chic style with peach and cream  lace.
A gorgeous fabric flower that was gifted to me in a swap.

Some hessian flower trip around the base.

And the odd piece left from the trim I added a peach resin flower.

We have loads of prizes on offer for the Christmas period challenge so why not pop over to the blog and join in.

Chloe Stamp & Die set

Good Morning All

I could not resist buying this Chloe Die and Stamp when I saw her demoing on Hochanda a while ago.
It took me a while to get the money together and get the order from Joanna Sheen, but worth the wait, I love them.
This is is quite plain and using the stamp too with Johns Izink in a turquoise colour.

I matted the white card onto some spotty paper to show under the butterflies.

Organza ribbon bow with one of my stick pins.

This one I stamp with Izink again, in a purple colour.
Stamped the sentiments with Johns Camellia  Ring stamp set.

The little leaves are from JND range.
I added  glitter glue to the wings.

An extra note posted on Facebook yesterday by PostPals  --------

Please welcome our new Pal Elle. Could you send her a Christmas card?
In the past year Elle has had a double lung transplant and a nasty infection which has resulted in multiple surgeries, losing her hair and becoming completely deaf. She will be in hospital over Christmas and for a few months while they try to beat this infection. She is in need of lots of TLC. We are waiting to hear where her family would like her sisters post sent

Please send a card to some of these kids and their families.I posted a load when I was in UK, my craft club make some and I pay for the postage. There is a link to the site in the sidebar.  Just the cost of a stamp will bring a smile to someone.
Thank You

Hexagon Boxes

Good Morning All
I thought I would show you these boxes I made using the link my crafty friend Jen sent me.
I have already shared them on my Crafty Facebook Page.
I made them for all the Grandkids and filled them with sweets.
A great way of using scraps of paper too.

I also made one for John too, this was my practise one.
HERE
*******
When I got back to Spain we took Johns mum out for tapas and met up with some friends
(the ones we are going away with for New Year)
And they bought me these gorgeous flowers.
The scent off the lillies is amazing, so gorgeous.
Abit blurry I,m afraid, sorry.

Family & Friends for Crafty Friends

Good Morning All
My first post today is for Crafty Friends Challenge and the theme is
Family & Friends.

I chose this lovely pre coloured sheet to make a little gift bag from our sponsor

You have to print 2 A4  sheets out like this one
cut out the shape and glue.

It makes this lovely, cute gift bag

And you  get 2 circle gift tags on each sheet too.

I like the digis from Pink Gems as  some are coloured which is great for me as my new printer does not like card.
I used one on my last DT for Crafty Friends.

Back later for Allsorts.

1501 post and A Busy Card

Good Morning All

Well, believe it or not but this is my 1501st post.
Back on 21st November 2011 was the first one with very little confidence, but thought I would try doing my own blog after being on the Docrafts forum and some of the girls there did a Bloghop at the weekend, so I thought I would join in.

Then I talked John  (John Next Door)  into starting his, and looked where he is now.
Sue Wilson noticed him and he got friendly with Mrs Duck and on he went.  I,m glad we keep in touch, he is a good friend, I've cried on his shoulder afew times !!!!!

I love blogland
And I have been lucky to meet afew of my followers too, over the years.
I thank you all for joining me and here's to many more years of crafting.
I dont know what I would do without it.
********
Today's card is what I call a busy card, lots going on.
Decoupaged flowers
Concertina butterfly with one of my pearl gems.
CE Cygnus die for border at bottom
A gorgeous doily die cut I was sent in a swap.
Paper from Making Cards Magazine I think.

Home Today

Good Morning All

On my way home today after a wonderful visit with Mum and seeing all my family and lots of friends.

******
A couple more large matchboxes today.
The paper is a 4x4 pad I bought at a craft show at Port Sunlight in April with my sister.
I have lots of laces that I amassed during swaps.

I used one of my Angel charms for the handle and surrounded it with paper flowers.

******

I always make the covers for the matchboxes from corrugated card and one of my ladies at my craft club gave me a pack, so I am using those.
Another piece from a 4x4 paper pad.
Bits that were on my desk - a decorated peg - a butterfly -  die cut swirl - cheesecloth.

I did stick paper in the inside but it is hidden by the tissue paper I added to wrap around any goodies that I will add before giving.
