About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Happy Sunday

Good Morning All

My challenge this week is to use Kraft card.
I gave each of my Craft Club ladies a piece of A5 card to use in any way they wish, lets see what they come up with next week.
Here is my few, simply used as background, embossed and plain and I also die cut a tree too.

******************
The gifts I gave out to the Craft Club ladies on Friday were a triangular box with a little spritzer bottle inside.
The papers I used to make the boxes are what I bought from Mrs Ducks online shop
(The Ducks Doodahs) a good while ago.
She does free postage in UK.

Now onto last weeks challenge, which was a sketch (see last Sundays post)

'B' for Crafty Friends

Good Morning All

Crafty Friends Challenge time again and this time the theme is
Things Beginning With 'B'

I went with Butterflies, no surprise there then!!!!
I also used Blue and Brown although the theme is Things Beginning with 'B'
Blue card, an offcut of a homemade background made with inks and John Lockwood Daisy Daisy Stamp.
Butterflies are Creative Expressions and the sentiment is from a sheet of Vellum, I tore and stuck onto blue card and hid the glue with pearls.

We do not have a sponsor for this one, so we were able to use anything we wanted.
Pop over to the challenge blog to see all the great work by the DT.

Perfect Pairs for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge  this week is chosen by our Team leader, Brenda
Perfect Pairs
So she wants to see a card matched to a tag or a Box.
As I was asked a good while ago to make a wedding card for an English couple but she wanted the wording in Spanish.
So I made a box card, as these are very effective, and I made a box for it to go into and decorated it.
Here is the box card which say 'Congratulations on Your Wedding'
She did not want any colour on the card other than white and silver or gold.

So I added a little colour to the box in the form of ribbon and flowers.

I like making Wedding cards as you can go OTT with embellishments as mre often than not, people do keep them, I still have mine in a box somewhere!!

Prize on offer this week

Groovi strips

Good Morning All

I have mentioned before about having smallish strips of Parchment left over as I generally make square cards, so therefore, use square parchment.

So I am always looking of ways to use them, I do make flowers and butterflies with them but here is a very quick way.
Simply stamped and added to piece of co-ordinating card then matted onto embossed card.

This obviously, is not quick but mounted onto a piece made with Charles Grid plate.
Then I tore the leftover strip and groovied the words on.

****

I would just like to wish Brenda from Floral Fantasy blog (our team leader at Allsorts)
A Very Happy Birthday

Scraps

Good Morning All

When I was in the Uk last year, I bought some paper pads from a Declutter site and there were some small scraps in one of them, infact, more than one.
But here is a card I made with these  latest bits.

Not too bad for scraps, what do you think.
*************
I just want to send my love and best wishes to John Next Door and Sam.
Fingers crossed for you both as Sam is in hospital at present.

Crafty Portfolios

Good Morning All

Some of you may know that I am in a Swap group on Facebook.
Afew weeks ago we had to made a Portfolio and this was mine, bright and Summery.

I include a Post it note pad and at either side, a piece of felt with Stick Pins.

I really enjoyed making that one so made a couple more, here is one.
I think they will make handy gifts for crafty friends or could be included with swaps.

Happy Sunday

Good Morning All

Happy Sunday to you all.
My challenge today is a sketch and I think we have had a similar one before.
this is my card and the sketch is below it..
I used a Humphrey topper and backed onto some Butterfly embossed card.

Lets see what my ladies and you, if you want to play along too, come up with.

Gifts for my Craft Club ladies.
When I was in the UK I bough 12 assorted boxes of Tic Tacs.
Here they are about 1.50euro per box and in UK they were alot cheaper.
Made a matchbox style box with a wrap around of corrugated card and then decorated with flowers.

I'm not sure if I mentioned it, but we have a new craft shop opened and Paul and Liz have accommodated my Craft Club, and because we are sat in the shop, some ladies have asked to join us, which is great.
Paul and Liz are happy to accommodate more people.

Now onto last weeks challenge which was a decoupage sheet, I gave them all a sheet from a pad from Joanna Sheen.

Soft Pastels for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge this week is hosted by Helene and the them is just perfect for her
Soft Pastels.
Helene makes some wonderful creations and they are usually soft, pastel and gentle if you know what I mean.

I made the background paper using soft brushes and Izinks.
The image is decoupage Faerie Poppets from Reddy Creative Cards.
Parchment punched flowers.

I think the image matches the paper very well.

Look What I bought

Good Morning All

My title is 'Look What I Bought' but it is rather, Look What John Bought Me.
After Liverpool won the Champions League, John was celebrating and he told me to buy what I wanted!!!!!
Well, I was watching Linda on Hochanda demonstrating her new plates so I got online and ordered them plus a couple of other things, as you do!!!!
So it was a set of 4 plates designed by Linda, a set of Pergamano Pencils and an embossing mat, that's all.

As parchment comes in either A4 or A5 size I always have lots of strips left over, as I tend to make 6x6 cards.
I either cut butterflies or dragonflies from them or punch out flowers.
As I now have lots of flowers and butterflies I thought I would use them in other ways so here is a card I made using a strip.
I just made a fancy border on both edges and used a flower plate and coloured prettily in pink.
Looks OK I think.

******
In our new Craft shop, they stock some amazing wools and they were displaying a cute,  really really soft Octopus.  Well I had to buy the pattern and a ball of the wool.
And here he is.
I shall make another one Hollie and I am giving this one to Tess.
They are coming over in August yippeeeeeeee.

CAS for MAWTT

Good Morning All
CAS
has been chosen by me.

Now I find CAS cards fairly hard as I want to add lots of embellishments.
I made the first one  with the balloons then saw another idea on Pinterest.
Hope you like them.

I die cut the letters using an X Cut Alphabet die for this one, added a peeloff Birthday cake and that's it.

Pop over to the challenge blog to see what the rest of the DT have made.
************
John and I have been going to a quiz on Friday nights and last week, this is what we came home with - not the kettle LOL. Good to restock the wine rack but not so good to restock the biscuit tin!!!!
