About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Johns Sunday Mojo

Good Morning All
It was Johns turn to provide the goodies for Sunday Mojo this week.

This was left on my window sill on Saturday morning.

Sticky backed fabric, felt, gingham, ribbon and pearls.

I had bought this box ages ago in the local Chino store, so I decided to cover this.  It is about 4" square and 2" deep.

I had to use some of the red DS sticky tape as the fabric was not sticky enough to hold.

I cut the green felt with a  Spellbinders border die.

I cut the felt and gingham with a poinsettia die and mixed the layers and  added a big glass pebble.

I used a glue gun to add all the embellishments as I think this is a stronger bond.
(I want a battery powered glue gun but cannot find one here, mine is electric).

Why not hop over to Johns blog to see what he has made, the link is at the top of this post.

Sunday Mojo started

G
ood Morning All
Sunday Mojo is back, we postponed it for a week because John Next Door gave me some goodies, or rather baddies.  I did not know what the heck to make with them, then it came to me at some ungodly hour in the night!!!!  For my new followers, John  ( who lives next door but one to me and used to live next door) we give each other some crafty goods each Sunday and challenge each other to make some beautiful creation with them.

These were the goods and I have to admit I did not use the glitter glue or the string.  Then I thought some type of plaque, then thought of Hollie (my Grand daughter) and a  name plaque to hang on her door.

I covered the book cover with maroon material cut off some curtains I have shortened.
Used a Crafters Companion cd to make the letters.
Covered with the piece of acetate.
Decorated with ribbon to hide the edges of acetate, white gems from local shop.
Butterfly peeloffs stuck on acetate and cut out, tiny butterflies from Mei flower.
Bows on sides are little clips for hair which Hollies Mum can use her when here hair grows abit more.

Sunday Mojo 20

Good Morning All
Abit late this morning, why?  Because my camera blew off the coffee table in my craft room during the week and I have borrowed one from a neighbour and I keep getting blurred pics so this one isn't perfect but the best I can do.

This is the items I gave John Next Door to play with.

This is what I came up with, it is a holder for oil and you stand wooden sticks in it to scent the room.

I do love this shade of ribbon, a beautiful turquoise.  Johns idea looks great to, both of  using a smelly idea!!!!!  John took the picture at the top and the items look more green than turquoise, I would say the true colour is abit between the two.

We are taking a break for August as we are both taking holidays during this month so we will see you again for Mojo in September, and remember, if anyone wants to play we will post goods out to you.

Sunday Mojo 17

Good Sunday Morning All
I think John Next Door was paying me back for giving him a load of pink stuff last week, here's what he gave me for todays Mojo.
He knows I dont do grungy or whatever it is called, so this really was a challenge for me, but here's what I came up with.

I inked all the diecuts and cut the larger piece of grey card to fit a 5 x 7 orange card blank.  Pulled some odd bits of paper from my scraps box and used some of my new sentiment tags.

CHALLENGES ----Paula Hollifields
ALBC -Die in for it

This one I did in blues and the papers are from a Forever Friends kit.

The final one I inked in black and again used odds of paper and card from scrappy box.

Have a good Sunday.

Sunday Mojo 16

Good Sunday Morning All
It was my turn to provide the goodies for the Sunday Mojo.  This is what I presented John Next Door with -

I went for quantity  as I have this craft fair coming up on the 15th July, I was checking through my boxes of cards upstairs and found that I did not have too many 'Get Well Cards' so I thought this would be a good opportunity to make a load, all ladies though as the goodies  were pink.  I have had to use peel-offs for the sentiment as I dont have any stamps that are suitable (note to put on shopping list).  Be prepared for lots of pics-------------

1.  A cross over card.  Mostly used Spellbinders Labels 6.  I cut quite afew die cuts from the papers and put them on my desk then decided what to do with them.

Bitty Blossom flowers
The paper lace edge I have had in my stash for mmm, probably more than 5 years.

CHALLENGES ----
Dream Valley # 60 - Make your own flowers or embellishments

That craft Place - Flowers

2.  A flower made into a butterfly and the negative from the die cuts.

3.  Marianne die cut flowers and some bought ones.

4.   Another Marianne die cut  LS0236
and a Marianne butterfly  LR 0158

5.   This is a diecut I bought from E***y.

6.  This features my new Marianne flower die.

7.  I varied between A6,  A5,  5" square and 5" x 7" sized cards

                           8.  This was the most unusual textured paper.

9.  A picture from a postcard that someone gave me cut with Spellbinders Scalloped circle.

10.   Another die cut bought from E***y and one of my new stamps for the verse.
11.  More of that lovely textured paper and Marianne flowers with gem centres.

12.  More Marianne large flowers.

Have a lovely Sunday and thanks for bearing with me on this extra long post.

               ********************************

Now I need to make a load of 'man' Get Well cards to go in the box.
I think Ita from Ireland  HERE  has decided to join us in our Mojo challenge so John will be sending some goodies to her soon.

Sunday Mojo 15

Good Sunday Morning All
Well John Next Door set me a challenge and a half this week.

The picture frame is about 15" X 9".

I really did not know what to do with this other than paint it and then embellish it with flowers etc.  Then, on Thursday night /Friday morning when I was lying in bed, unable to sleep, it hit me.

I kept the material I cut from the bottom of curtains when I had to shorten them when we decorated my craft room.

I decided to cut strips of the material (as in the post from yesterday, the Allsorts one) and fray the edges.  I stuck them on with silicone glue.  Then picked out some crochet flowers from my box and glued those on and voila.  I chose purple because this will be going in my reading room upstairs with a photo of Hollie and her Dad, I know just the one I want to use. ------

This background makes it stand out abit more.  And this is before I put the glass back in.

This is against a white background , shows the purple up more.

This is with the glass back in and now I will have to print the photos.  I have had my new printer for afew months now and still need to suss out how to print a 4 x 6 picture.!!!!!

CHALLENGES -----
The Hobby House - Anything Goes

Here are the two pics I would like to put in the frame.

I love this pic, it just screams at me 'Daddys Little Girl'.

In fact I may put two pics in the frame because it is quite oblong in shape.

I love the expression on her gorgeous little face in this one.

These were taken afew weeks ago when the weather was good in the UK and Mum and Dad put a blanket out on the back lawn.

Now for the bit of news I was telling you about -
John has been emailed about our Mojos on Sundays and we talked about it and he asked me how I felt about sending the goodies we used to anyone that may want to join in with us, of course, I agreed.  We will have to pull the goods together afew weeks in advance to give us time for posting and we will sink the cost of this between us, but we think it would be fun.  I did this on my Allsorts challenge afew months ago, Brenda sent us all the same goods and it was really interesting to see what we all came up with.  If you would like to join us, either email or comment on here or on Johns blog.

Hope you are all having a great weekend. and look forward to hearing from you.
