About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Sentiment in Focus for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge this week is hosted by our lovely Helene.
She wants to see the Sentiment in Focus on  your creations.

This sentiment I have had in my stash for years, and I mean years.
Someone gave a load of them to me before I moved to Spain, so well before 2010.!!!!!!
I just made a frame for it with some on my mini butterflies.
A nice bright card and using old stash so me is happy bunny.!!!!!!

Our sponsor this week is

I shall be on my way home tomorrow after nearly two weeks with my lovely families and John Next  Door.

Quilled Autumn Card

Good Morning All

This is a quilled card I made for a swap in a card group on Facebook.
The theme was Autumn.
The scarecrow card has been in my stash for years but I thought it was very apt for this card.
I hope the quilling looks like corn.
And tied them together with twine.

Wings for Allsorts

Good Morning All
Allsorts Challenge time again and the theme is
Things With Wings.
I nearly always go for Butterflies so I decided to have a change and went with Birds.
Now this paper, from a magazine, has been in my stash for ever!!!!
I made a sort of Shabby Chic card.
Lots of bits used on this.
I have a box I keep stuff in to make Tags, so I delved into that.

Brenda is giving a prize of a Set of Stamps for this one.

Very pleased with all three.

And here are some extras she sent too.

I love these swaps, I get some great ideas for making embellishments.

Good Morning All

Here are two fairly quick 'Man' cards.
The first one is using pieces of LOTV paper that were left over from another project. and the sentiment is a Creative Expressions die cut twice to highlight.

The 2nd one is LOTV Topper, I love these, they are so cute, and scraps of paper matted and layered.

Hello UK

Good Morning All
As this goes live I shall be on my way to Alicante Airport to fly to Liverpool to see Arabella Louise and the rest of the family.
It is a two centre break for me as I am meeting John Next Door on Sunday and then he is taking me down to his and then I shall get the train to my other sons in Corby.
Cant wait to see everyone and meet the new babs.
*****
Today I have another couple of quilled cards.
A general one.

And a Christmas one.
This is a very small one, just 10x10cm.
I am thinking of doing afew of this size together and selling in a pack of maybe 5 or 6 at the Christmas Fayre I am doing in November.
I have been quilling some poinsettias for this size of card.

I believe it is only about 14 or 15 weeks until Christmas!!!!!

See you soon.

**********
I have some more pics of the floating cups now.  I was having issues with my memory card from my camera, t kept saying it needed formatting but I have been using it for ages with no issues, then suddenly saying that.  Anyway, John tired it in his laptop and it was OK so I tried again and voila, fine!!!!

This is Val J's.

This is mine.

**********

I would like to show you this ladies' quilling.  She is a member of a group on Facebook and she also has her own page HERE
Her work is amazing.
She has given me permission to show you all.
Why not pop along and view her work.

Feels Like Autumn for Allsorts

Good Morning All
Allsorts Challenge this week is Feels Like Autumn hosted by Ellie.
I chose this image because it reminds me of Harvest Festival in church when I was at school.
Once the Harvest was over, the farmers would get ready for Autumn.
I dont even know where the image is from, sorry
Using scraps of card for the background.
Fussy cut the stamped image which I coloured with Promarkers.
Buttons with twine, which was used to tie the bales, probably not these days but it was used years ago when I was a child!!!!

Brenda is offering a prize of a gorgeous Tonic die.

*****
I went to another craft class on Thursday and we made Floating Tea Cups, great fun.

Mine is the dark one near the middle.
I think I may add some flowers to it.

No Image for MAWTT

Good Morning All
Moving Along With The Times Challenge
is hosted by Christine this time and she does not want any images,
just the Sentiment as the focal point.
This is my younger Son's Birthday card which was back in July.
I cut the letters, RICK, from glitter foam so use as the focal point.

I used a 'tools' embossing folder.

He is a plumber by trade and put himself (paid for himself too) through all his exams while still working as a driver and supporting his family too.
So proud of him.

Afew weeks ago I made a lovely Ribbon & Gem flower for Allsorts Challenge,  and this is what I used it for, a Fabric Book.
It is quite small, about 6 x 4

Inside with afew homemade Stick Pins

I shall probably gift this to someone.
The stick Pins are for sale at top of my blog.

I just wanted to show you this lovely card from one of my ladies at my craft club.
Denise is new to card making and she messaged this card to me as she was soooo pleased with it.
With good reason I think, what do you think??

Well done Denise, you are well on the road to being poor, all your money being spent  on craft stash!!!!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Jacky's Birthday

Good Morning All
Today is my friend Jacky's Birthday, and her hubby, Alan, asked me to make a card for her from him.

I made these foamiran flowers a while ago and decided to use them as they are so pretty in lilac.
The heart die is Joanna Sheen.
Happy Birthday from Creative Expressions.
Corner die from Leanne.
And the gorgeous lace ribbon from local China store.

He loved it anyway and I hope Jacky does too.

2 DP for Allsorts

Good Morning All
Allsorts Challenge this week is hosted by Kath.
She has chosen a theme of using at least 2 designer papers.
I used two sheets from an LOTV paper pad - Timeless Victorian.
This lovely large flower was in some candy I was lucky to win.

I inked all the edge and the corners with Plum Cobbler Colour Cloud.

I embellished with two of my stick pins, some ribbon John Next Door gave me with one of my pearl gems on the top.
Pins and gems available on my page at top of my blog.

As our sponsor is Tattered Lace, I did set out to use a butterfly cut with their Pinpoint set, then got carried away with the flower.

So here is my another card I have put on the Challenge blog, using the pinpoint butterfly!!!!!

The sentiment is one of John Next Door's, heat embossed in gold.

Two tiny organza bows with two of my tiny butterflies on top.

I used what was left from the two sheets of 8x8 papers inside one of the cards.
Waste not want not!!!!

*********

I have a little Bingo or Tic Tac Toe  on my Facebook Page.
Why not pop over and have a go.

Have a good weekend and make a card to join in the challenge.

Die Cut Magazine

Good Morning All
I bought the Die Cut Magazine afew months ago.
It just laid at the side of my desk for ages, so I thought I had better do something with it.

To be honest, I am not over impressed with these but very often when I dont like something I make, others love it.
I did make another one but it reminded me so much of my best friend Trudy, in the UK, the one that has had breast cancer, I posted it over to her, just to say 'Hello'.

She has a green house in her garden and she goes and sits in there for abit of peace and quiet, she does grow plants too.

I love the verse on the stamp, very apt.
*****
More rain on Thursday so pool will have cooled even more, but will risk it shortly for my daily swim, as missed yesterday. I do feel it does me good and makes me feel healthy, been good on my diet too. Lost 2lb this week, even though we have been out for meal and lots of wine twice!!!!!

Goodbye Lyn

Good Morning All

Today's card is one I made for my Crafty friend Lyn.
She  decided earlier in the year to go back to live in UK.
Her house sold reasonably quickly and today is the day she goes.
She has this card now so I can show you.

I used one of the jigsaw pieces I have decorated and a tag.
The sentiment says We Will Miss You.
And I shall miss her very much, we ran the fat club together and she helped me with the Craft Club.
I,m happy for her and I know she will be reading this.
We are going to Skype on a Friday with the others at Craft club.

Good Luck Lyn & Bill.
Hope you find a new home soon.
