About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Happy Christmas

Good Morning All

I know you will all be busy getting the final preparations done for tomorrow.
We have decided we are staying in for lunch and having nibbles, so all I am making is sausage rolls and we have bought  a prawn platter for John, his passion!!!
And I will bake warm bread and make a salad and I have cooked a gammon joint too.

Here is the card I made for one of my sisters.
It is very similar to the one I made for my other sister where I made a spelling mistake and had to add a bow to cover it.

*********************
At my craft club on Friday I gave all the ladies a selection of gifts and I used the bags I made a while ago for a Crafty Ribbon design team post.

I filled them with different gifts for all of them but I did give them each one of these little pouches containing some stick pins
I made these pouches from bought cards that I have received in the past and I stick a                                                  piece of material in to jab the pins into.

**********************
And finally, another Groovi card using an offcut and a decoupage, similar to one I showed last week

Once again, I wish you all a
Happy Christmas

Happy Sunday

Good Morning All

Here is my card for my little Sketch Challenge.
The papers are from a 2nd hand paper pad I bought which had some cut offs in, too pretty to waste.
LOTV Topper

I added a little'Just for You' charm to the sentiment tag.

A couple of my homemade satin ribbon bows with gems.

Here is the sketch, one we have had before.

Lets see you interpretation of it.
**************************************
The gifts this week was a small triangle box containing a pen, always handy.

****************************************

Last week I asked the ladies to use Gingham or Checks

********************

We had a lovely Christmas lunch on Friday after we had crafted for a couple of hours.
Everyone enjoyed the food and those of us that had Sticky Toffee pudding for dessert, wow, the toffee sauce was to die for and probably  had a million calories, but it was well worth it.
The ladies all very kindly, gave me a voucher for Clarity which will get spent in the new year when they have a members sale on, I have my eye on afew of the new border grid plates.
All my other gifts are waiting to be opened on Christmas morning with my John, after I have walked Rico.

**********************
Well I wish you all a
Merry Christmas
whatever you are doing, and those that are going through sad or bad times, a special hug to you.

Not A Card for MAWTT

Good Morning All

Moving Along With The Times Challenge is for both teams this time and will run until 2nd Jan.
The theme is
  Anything But A Card
I made a wreath from  torn pieces of a quilt cover.
The strips are about 1" wide

I tore them so that the edges would be crinkly and shabby

I bought this polystyrene base from the China store.

I had this gorgeous ribbon from Crafty Ribbon HERE and it is about 3" wide so not really suitable for cards.
But I wanted a good way to show it off.

This is how it looked with the strips tied around.

Then I tied the ribbon into big bows with white satin ribbon around the middle

Added a couple of wooden Christmas decorations

Voila

Added a cracker made with JND die
and I am thinking I may add some little bells I have in my stash too.

Some of us are giving a prize for this challenge so why not pop over and have a go.

What do you think??

Crafty Ribbons are sponsoring this one for us and will give a bundle of ribbons for a randomly chosen winner.

Paper Scraps

Good Morning All

When I was in the UK I bought some bits from a Declutter site on Facebook.
One was some paper packs and odd pages had been cut so this is how I used them.
I made card bases with toning colours and added a strip of ribbon to hide the join.

This last one, I used these thin strips of paper which I thought was very pretty, so I matted it onto strips of card.

I think they look OK and are ready to have some toppers added to make a quick and easy card.

Rich Red

Good Morning All

My Mum asked me to make a Christmas card for her to give to my sister.

I think it looks very opulent and rich.
Matted onto red glitter card.
Poinsettias have 4 layers with pearl centres.

I,m sure Mum will have given her the card now so it is safe to show it.
