About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Milestone Birthday

Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge theme is 'Milestone Birthday' chosen by Sarah.

So I took this opportunity to make Noahs 1st Birthday card.  I am in the UK celebrating his birthday which was on 26th but he is having a party today.

I used loads of stuff from my stash, printed paper, present decoupage, tags and ribbon. I cut Happy Birthday using a Marriane die and the Grand Son was borrowed from my friend Lin at craft club.
I decorated the inside, cos' he is special.

It's A Song

Good Morning All
As this goes out I shall be winging my way to UK to see my gorgeous family and it was Noahs birthday yesterday, so Megan is having a party for him on Saturday.
I had my purse lifted from my bag on Tuesday so no bank cards and couldn't hire a car as my driving license gone too, so flippin' annoying.
*******
Moving Along With The Times challenge this week is ......It's A Song chosen by Hazel (Didos)

'These Boots Are Made For Walking'

Megan wanted some boots crocheting for Noah, I have already made some Christmas ones  for him HERE, then I found this pattern on You Tube
HERE   so I had a go at these.  They are so cute dont you think?

Hollies Advent Calender Box

Good Morning All

Still got the tale end of my cold, I hope it disappears before Thursday when I fly over to see all the family.

I shall have this in my suitcase for Hollie.

I borrowed the Spellbinders little box die from John Next Door before he left for the UK and I cut a load of them, enough to make one of these for Noah next year too.  I cut the boxes in white and the lids in red and green.

My friend Lin lent me a Christmas Cd so I printed the tiny images to stick on the lids and I bought the tiny black numbers from the local China store.
Linda gave me all the big letters in a bag of stuff last week.

I was in a quandary as to what to put inside as I didn't want to put sweets in every box, so any ideas you have please say in your comments.
I put afew sweets in, sultanas, hair slides, balloons, a couple of glass ornaments I bought in Venice.

So I still have afew empty boxes to fill, ideas please.

No Designer Paper

Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge time again and the theme is 'No Designer Paper' chosen by Brenda.

I chose a gorgeously cute image from Nicecrane 'Vintage Kids, mounted on to blue card and then mirri card.  I embossed  a piece of white card with a 'Vine' folder then inked it.  I added all bits  from my stash and then embossed a silver card with Best Friend because I,m going to give this card to one of my oldest friends Trudy, as it is her Birthday in January, so I shall take it with me when I go back next week, she loves dogs so will suit her perfectly.
Ooh, this time next week will be 'cuddle' time for me.
Pop over to the challenge blog to see all the other DT creations, so gorgeous.

And More

Good Morning All

Her are afew more cards made with the stuff Linda gave to me.

This is a triple folded card blank in pink so I matted and layered and
added bits from my stash.

Here is another one in green, so I made it into a Christmas card.

Diane, another lady I give cards to who raises money for a stoma support charity here in Spain, called on Tuesday and I gave  her a bag with most of the Christmas cards I had made so I want to make afew more just in case I need any more, even though I have written all mine ready to post in the UK.
I also gave here about 60 others too so my stocks are quite low now, what an excuse to craft even more !!!!!!

More

Good Morning All

Here is another couple of cards made with some stuff given to me by Linda from Animal Aid.  They look like Kanban to me but I may be mistaken.

This one is A6 size and simply matted onto silver mirri card and added a couple of embellishments.

This one is A5,  I matted the topper onto embossed card, then onto pink card.

All going back to Linda to sell to raise money to help the dogs.

Lindas stuff

Good Morning All

This flippin' cold is still hanging on, we are all the same, the four of us that went on the cruise.
********
Linda from Animal Aid was in touch last week and she had some more stuff for me.  There was a load of card blanks and toppers in the bag so I will be showing you afew of these this week.
I will be giving her them all back in the next bag I give her once I have embellished them up.

This is a pretty card blank so I cut a fancy square and cut it in half diagonally.  Added some homemade flowers and die cut swirly leaves.

The sentiment was in another bag Linda gave to me a while ago but because it is acetate I had to stick pearls on to hide the D/S tape used to glue it on.

Anything But A Card

Good Morning All

Thank you for all your 'Get Well Wishes', I am feeling better.
The theme for the Allsorts Challenge this week has been chosen by  Tracy Mouse.  Anything but a Card so here is a  blanket !!!!

Here is the finished blanket I have made for the new baby. I did it all in lemon edged with white.
My eldest boy, Lee and his partner Megan are having a girl, possibly Octavia.  A little sister for this little cutie, here's Noah with his hair all slicked back, just wish he would lose his dummy.!!!!!
I know he will get rid when he is ready, Hollie only has hers a bed time now.

Only two weeks until I get to cuddle him!!!!
I am really pleased with it, I love this crochet stitch and will no doubt be using it again.

Orchids

Good Morning All

Only afew days of holidays left, home on Saturday, so there will lots of catching up to do along with lots of washing and ironing !!!!!

This is another card I was asked to make for a lady who likes Orchids and I did have a problem finding an orchid image.  I found one in some decoupage sent to me by a lovely lady called Brenda.

I used two of the decoupage and put one inside the aperture and one on the corner.
Tiny silver butterflies are punched from Dufex decoupage waste and the gems ones are bought from local China shop and mounted onto acetate and cut out.
Homemade bead pins .

Cupcake

Good Morning All

Another scheduled post.

I was asked to make this by a lady who lives near us, for her Daughter who makes Cupcakes.

I was given a load of stuff by one of John Next Doors customers and this cupcake decoupage from C&C was amongst it.  I embellished it with gems and pearls.  Last bit of paper from C&C years ago.
