About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Add A Sentiment for MAWTT

Good Morning All

Moving Along With The Times Challenge is hosted by Diane this time and the theme is
Add A Sentiment
I already had this CE Sentiment cut out in my topper box along with this decoupage teddy with flowers.
So I matted it onto Phill Martin paper and added some little butterfllies.

I added some ribbon to the top corner and tied a Happy Birthday charm  to it with twine.

Hello

Good Morning All

We are putting Rico in the kennels today so that I can give my back a rest.
You never know whether you are doing right or wrong by keeping moving.
But as it has gone on so long now, I thought I would rest it for a couple of days before I leave for UK on Thursday.

This is one of my fave Groovi plates and can be used for many occasions.

Here it is before I added a sentiment.
White parchment onto coloured parchment with very fine picot cut scalloped edge.

I just added a simple homemade stamped sentiment with a charm and ribbon.
This is a large card for me, 7x7 and I keep this size for special  ones.

I have also been knitting and crocheting for the dogs and the homeless .
I found a group on Facebook who want to collect, hats, gloves and scarves for the homeless in Murcia, so another great way of using scraps of wool too.
These are things I can do while I am at Ricks in Corby.

Friends for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge this week is hosted by Lynn and her theme is
Friends

As I stated last week, I work well ahead for my DT makes and  for this weeks challenge  I made my best friends Birthday card back in October.
Her Birthday was on 3rd January, same day as my sister Gill's.
I first met Trudy when we were 11 years old, on the bus going to school.
I still see her every time I go to Mums as she now lives on the same road as Mum.

I had the shoe image from when I used a Groovi plate belonging to one of my craft ladies.
I added 'Best Friend' from another plate
and Happy Birthday from another.
This is what I love about Groovi - I can use different plates to make a unique creation and it is so easy to personalise too.

I always use odd pieces of parchment to either make butterflies of flowers, so I add many flowers.
The card underneath the parchment is from a 12x12 pad from Hobbycraft.
I felt it needed a little something else so added one of my ribbon bows.

Same Plate - 3 cards

Good Morning All

Hope you are not snowed in, our weather has turned very chilly, a cold wind, but still sunshine during the day.
My back is still bad and hoping it will get better next week as I am going to Rick and Lorien's  to see them all and have a bit of Nana time with my gorgeous girls.

Here are 3 cards I have made using the same plate, can be made to look so different in different colours.
This one has two layers, the underneath layer is coloured parchment.

This one has a Pixie Powder background

And finally, this one is rainbow paper background and my fave.

These are to show my team leader at Allsorts, Brenda, just what can be done with one plate.

Scraps

Good Morning All

I made this card at the weekend for a sketch challenge on a Facebook page.
I used a card base I showed HERE  when I bought some paper pads from a declutter site on Facebook and there were some scraps in them, so I decided to use them all for card bases.

I stamped a Birthday Cake image on a piece of pale green paper from the scraps.
Candy dots in the corner
A Charm and homemade sentiment tag tied to the ribbon.

Have a Heart for MAWTT

Good Morning All

MAWTT Challenge time and Donna has chosen
Have A Heart

I used an X Cut die cut from Shiny red card
Added a banner flag from CE and organza ribbon and tiny paper roses.
As I dont really do Valentines cards, I kept this general with Congratulations, so it may be used as Wedding, Anniversary or Engagement.

Santoro Travellers Notebook

Good Morning All

Afew years ago, my crafty friend Val J, gave me a Santoro pack containing lots, and I mean , lots of toppers and papers, tags etc.
Now I have used quite alot for cards and still loads left so I decided to make a Travellers Notebook with some.
I stuck one of the pieces of A4 oto a black sheet of A4 card to strengthen it.
So this is the outside cover ties with seam binding.

And here is a flip through of some of the pages.
Lots of tags and tuck spots.

I use pages from books to make tuck spots and pockets.

I just have to make sure there are no swear words and and gory bits on the script!!!!

On this page I have added a decorated Paper clip

Abit of fun and I really enjoyed making it.
