About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Happy Sunday

Good Morning All

We are going to Benidorm this morning on a coach trip and staying overnight.
We are going to Benidorm Palace to see a Queen tribute act, so I hope they are good.
We left Rico in the kennels as it was not worth getting him home for 2 nights then back again, so he will be home on Tuesday and I will be so glad to see him.  I dont think he misses us as much as we miss him though !!!!!

I had got ahead with my gift boxes before I went away, so I chose these for my ladies on Friday.

I made little boxes just big enough to hold a tube of Polo Mints.
Made a belly band to hold it closed and added a handmade paper flower to top it off.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I will let you know what the tribute band are like.

Use Yellow for Allsorts.

Good Morning All

Well we are back home now and I was able to get to see my Craft Club ladies yesterday.
We got MIL settled into a lovely Nursing Home in Upton on the Wirral.  Her room looks out onto the gardens and pond and she has all her familiar things from her flat around her, photos and nic nacs etc.
We got her flat sorted too and Johns kids are going in tomorrow to take the last bits of furniture.
And most importantly of all, she is more with it, nowhere near as confused as she was, and she is happy there.
********

Allsorts Challenge time again and the theme is
Use Yellow
Chosen by Lynn
I've had these cute decoupage images for years and they have been ready to use in my Topper box so here goes.

So we have yellow chicks, yellow flower, yellow pearl hearts  and yellow ribbon all matted onto yellow card.

I will send them to my Grandkids for Easter.

Brenda is giving this lovely Prize

While we were in the UK, it was Tess's Birthday and Lorien sent me a couple of pics, isn't she the cutest.

Groovi Quartet

Good Morning All

Trying to sort out my photo file and decided to show these Groovi cards made way back in December.
A really pretty Bluebell plate with Pixie powder background

Practising abit of feather work!

Still in UK ploughing through everything.
The nursing home that John's mum is in is beautiful and she likes it too.
Her room looks out onto the garden and a pond and is surrounded by trees. We could not have wished for better for her.
She is well looked after and even had a hairdresser in this week.

Feathered Friends for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge this week is
Feathered Friends hosted by Ellie.
Although my feathered friend is more flowery than feathery!!!!!

I went for something abit different, an altered coat hanger.

My sister gave me this ages ago and it was just plain wood.
So I covered it with decoupage paper attached with Mod Podge to give it a sheen.

Then I went delving into my stash to see what pretty things I could decorate it with.
I,m sure the three items across the top, I have acquired through swaps.
The gorgeous lace across the bottom I have bought.
I am going to get this put up on the wall in the hall.

Prize this week.

Crafty Ribbons

Good Morning All

Crafty Ribbons time again for me.
I made this one using a spare piece of card  I had made using Pixie powders.
I placed it underneath the parchment and then added Seam Binding from Crafty Ribbons shop.
This is what I love about Seam Binding, you can always find a colour to match whatever you are doing, I think this matches perfectly.

If you cant fine a very specific colour you can always colour with your alcohol pens, I use Pomarkers.

I just added a lovely Happy Birthday charm to the ribbon to finish it off.

2 Pram Blankets

Good Morning All

We are having to go back to UK tomorrow to empty MIL's flat.
She has got a place in a lovely Nursing Home so we are going back to give notice on her flat and get rid of everything.
Hopefully Johns kids will take some of it and she can take her chair and her TV with her.
Must admit though, I am not looking forward to it.

********
Anyway, onto nicer things, here are two Pram Blankets I have just finished in lovely soft DK wool.
This one is in a Chevron Stitch

And this one is Drunken Granny Stitch!!!!!
So easy and very quick to grow.

Enjoy your week.
Back on here tomorrow with a scheduled post for Crafty Ribbons.

Use Fave Stamp or Die for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge this week is to use your
Favourite Stamp or Die

I love this tree die and use it alot,  Especially for Sympathy cards, when it looks good with small butterflies added to the branches. Not sure what brand it is but is has a little girl on a swing on the lower branch which I cut off for this occasion.
I cut it from Kraft card
I used  Candy Dots again and all topped onto LOTV paper

I tied twine around it and tied a homemade sentiment tag.

Brenda is giving these 2 sets to a winner

Bugs for MAWTT

Good Morning All

Moving Along With The Times Challenge is hosted by our Jessie this time and her theme is

Bugs

I went with Dragonflies and used a Groovi plate, one of my favourites.
I mounted it onto Pixie Powder background and matted that onto Pink card.
I mounted the sentiment onto black card (to pick out the black in the Pixie powder), then matted onto same pink card.

Pop over to the challenge blog to see all the great work by my Design Team B
