About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Happy Sunday

Good Morning All

Happy Sunday to you all.
Craft Fayre day today, not sure how it's going to go but we will see.
******
A nice easy sketch this week and here is my card using scraps.
I aways end up with lots of pieces of card and paper in 1 or 2" strips so I glued them onto a piece of card and ran it through a Snowflake Emboss Folder.
Added an LOTV topper, cheesecloth, JND Snowflake and sentiment.
Looks OK I think

Sketch - basically, just use a rectangular card base.

Shabby Chic Photo Album

Good Morning All
This posted by mistake the other day but here it is again.

I bought this album from the charity shop and it looked fairly new.

And here is what it looks like now, after I got my glue gun out and my laces and doilies.!!!!
I padded it with wadding, then covered it with white cloth from a quilt cover
Then a lace tray cloth and a toning doily.

This is the spine with a dangle charm and a tassle.
I used seam binding as a book mark and to tie the dangle charm to.

This is the back

I found a Peacock brooch in my stash which I was gifted in a swap I think.

Inside the front and back covers I added a sheet of felt.
On the front one  I left a pocket from the tray cloth.

Very happy witth this and I hope it sells at the craft Fayre on Sunday

Halloween for MAWTT

Good Morning All

Moving Along With The Times Challenge is hosted by Amy from Team A this time.
The theme is Halloween and, as Amy lives in USA where Halloween is a big thing,
but not as big in UK.
I found this digi image with Pumpkins on so I thought this would fit.
I matted it onto some background  card I made with my friend Jen's Oxide inks.
I embossed some card from Johns beer cartons but it split abit in places so added inked doilies to hide!!!!!

Quite sweet I think.

Well my John goes to UK tomorrow for a footy match and to see his  kids and Mum.

I can have the TV control to myself for 5 days Yeeheeeeeeeee.
Busy sorting all the stuff out for the craft fayre on Sunday.

Red or Green

Good Morning All

I have been making quite afew Groovi Christmas cards for me to use myself, not go on the stall.

Over her, in the China stores I can buy a great big sheet of glittered card for 1 euro.
I make these cards at night while watching TV, well not make the cards but do the Groovi.
As the parchment is in an A5 sheet size, when I do a  square, there is always a piece left at the end so I do the poinsettia as an extra layer.

I love them both but i think I lean towards the green one, maybe because it has 3 flowers on.
Let me know what you think, I do love reading your comments.

Happy Sunday

Good Morning All

Here is my card for my little sketch challenge this week.
I treated myself to Clarity Picot Oval die set and this was my first try at using them.
Note the two embossed lines around the edge as I didn't line up correctly but I wasn't going to waste it so I just offset and did another line.
The paper is from a Phill Martin pad.
My homemade embellishments - butterflies and bows.

The sketch to follow

Now onto last weeks sketch

Circles for Crafty Friends

Good Morning All

My first post today is  for Crafty Friends Challenge and the theme is Circles.

We have a sponsor for this one and it is a new one - Lee H  Illustrations
and they provided us with a couple of cute images to work with.
I chose 'Squirrel with Ladybird'
I made the background by sticking circles onto card ad then ran it through an Embossing Folder.
I have done this before and I think it looks quite good, great for 'man' cards.

Back later with Allsorts.

Traditional Christmas for Allsorts

Good Morning All

For Allsorts Challenge this week we have a theme of
Traditional Christmas Colours - Red, Green, Gold.
I grabbed a bundle from an old Making Cards magazine my sister gave to me.
Decoupaged the topper, cut up a doily to add as a mat.
Added a parchment Poinsettia in the corner, afew pearls to hide a mark on the paper!
Pretty backing paper from the magazine too.
So, traditional colours and a traditional image too.

Pop over to the challenge blog to see what my teamed have made.

Tags for Christmas Gifts

Good Morning All

I have booked to do a stall for a Christmas fayre and so I want to get abit of stock together.
I have been making tags for Christmas gifts, to sell in packs of 8.
I must admit, I dont really enjoy doing them, the stall I mean, but my crafty friend Val J has said she will help me even though she only gets back into Spain the night before, she is a gem.

These are a pocket tag, so a tag within a tag.

A great way of using scraps too.

When I did a fayre afew years ago at Bar Catorce, tags sold quite well.

I can always use them as card toppers if they dont sell and I will use some myself to add to little gifts I buy for the family.
I always buy them low cost 'fun' gifts to leave under the tree.

Off to Craft Club today, look forward to this day and seeing all my ladies, although there are quite afew off today so it will be a small meeting.

Ribbon

Good Morning All

This is a design I copied from one of my MAWTT design team ladies when we had a Ribbon challenge afew weeks ago.

On this one the ribbon seemed to want to curve so I let it.
I used Phill Martins Scribbled corner sentiments.
Quite a simple card.

This is Jessies' card that inspired me.
Alot neater than mine.

Have a nice day
