About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Christmas Gifts for Allsorts

Good Morning All

It is my turn to host the Allsorts Challenge and I chose a theme of

Christmas Gifts.
I altered some plain Brown carrier bags for all my gifts this year, as I did last year too,
instead of using non recyclable  paper.

I have more of these to show you next week for Crafty Ribbons DT.

These are also a great way of recycling last years Christmas cards as I have used  on some.
Some are 12 x 12 paper that I have had for years and not known what to do with as they had 4 images on, so I cut them up and used them too.
Random stamping of snowflakes and Christmas trees, ribbon added across the top and tied odd embellishments to it.

I had great fun doing these and I used quite afew bits that I have had in my Christmas box for years.

Prize on offer
Christmas Cracker Kits from Stix 2

Good Morning Hochanda

Good Morning All

Exciting day today as I am going to Hochanda to meet up with John Next Door.
As most of you know, that is where his name comes from as I used to call him
John next door as my partners name is John too.
I,m glad he kept the name when fame beckoned him!!!!
I  am going upto Sheffield to stay with him and Sam and, hopefully, we will go to his local Craft shop and I can fill my suitcase for my return journey on Friday.

Todays card is for my Johns sons birthday, I had to make it early as he is going to work in Melbourne for at least 6 months, so made it early in November when he came to stay with us before his trip.
A typical 'man' card, holding the TV control !!!!

Cute Dinosaur

Good Morning All

I,m still in the UK at my sons and loving every minute with my Granddaughters, Hollie & Tess.
Except, I have horrible toothache, I had to go to emergency dentist on Friday and I thought it had settled, but bad again today on and off.
******
I dont make many children's cards other than for my grand kids but this is one I made a while ago.
The Dinosaur is from LOTV I think.
Mounted onto Embossed card and the side panel is a scrap left over from a Pixie Powder sheet covered with acetate.

See you soon.

Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge this week is either

I used two pieces of pretty paper I had left over from backing a book fold, matted them onto white card and then onto Mirri card.
An acetate Thank You sentiment which I had to use gems to hide the glue.
A couple of flowers and ribbon with a charm.

Steampunk for MAWTT

Good Morning All

Moving Along With The Times Challenge is hosted by Jackie Reader this week and her theme is

Steampunk

Now I dont really do this type of card but luckily, I found some papers in a used pad that I bought on a declutter site.
One of my craft club ladies, Jen, lent me her cog dies, so I cut a few in both gold Mirri and black and layered them up.

Tied the sentiment on with twine wrapped around the mat.

That's as good as it's gonna get!!!!

I,m winging my way to Corby to my younger sons today.
Really looking forward to seeing them all, especially Hollie and Tess.
Then I am meeting up with John Next Door at Hochanda studios as they are quite near to Corby.
Really excited about seeing John again as it has been a while.

Butterflies

Good Morning All

I made this card back in June and just found it in my files.
It is using a scrap of paper from a paper pad I bought from the Declutter site.
All bits and bobs.
I think the toppers are Hunkydory.
I love that piece of paper, so pretty.

Just a couple of days to go before I go to Ricks to see them all and meeting up with John and Sam.

Christmas for Crafty Friends

Good Morning All

Christmas.
Our sponsor is All Dressed Up and they provided some lovely images for us to work with.
This one  is called Little Star.

The colours dont show very well but her face is more beige/skin colour and her wings are pinks.
I used Polychromos to colour
and scraps for the backing.
Wrapped gold twine around it with two cute jingle bells

I am going to give this to one of my Grand children.

Pop over and see what Team 1 have been upto with the images they have been given.

I think this card looks quite opulent with the gold Mirri.
