About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

A Keepsake Box for Noah

Good Morning All

I have had this box for afew years, OH bought it for me one Christmas full of bath goodies and it is a good , sturdy box.

So I covered it with PaperMania Capsule papers in complimenting colours.

I printed an image from Delicious Doodles of these gorgeous dolphins (my fave)

And because I wanted to give it to Megan as Noahs Keepsake box I couldn't go too mad on the embellishments.

I'm really pleased with how it turned out and hope she likes it.

Just Christmas

Good Morning All
We are away this afternoon so my posts are all scheduled for the next two weeks, so please forgive me if they dont work properly.  I will catch up with you all on my return.
**********
This week for Allsorts Challenge the theme is Just Christmas and has been chosen by our team leader, Brenda.

So I took this opportunity to show these.  Megan asked me if I could crochet Noah some Christmas Bootees so I found a You Tube pattern and made these.  I thought I would try to make them more Christmassy by adding white pompoms (Snow)

Then I found another pattern HERE for these cute ones.  These are too small for Noah so I was going to give them to the new baby, BUT, I was in the local bar where we have our slimming club and I was showing my friend Lin, when a customer asked could she look at them.  She told me they were gorgeous and that she was pregnant so I told her to keep them, how kind am I !!!!!!!  LOL

I will crochet some more for Noah and the new baby too.

Last Ones

Good Morning All
These are the last, I promise, from this pack.  I have made the whole lot and used lots of old stash too, so I am a happy bunny.  Just got alot more packs to go through !!!!!

This is one of the printed acetate wraps, (sorry about the reflection).
There were parchment mini envelopes in the pack too so I used these too on the inside of these cards.

Last one I promise.
I,m sure the charity ladies will be happy with them.

We depart on our holidays on Saturday so my DT posts are scheduled and I will see you when I return in 2 weeks.  I may sneak a post on while we are away, depends on internet connection.

Embossing

Good Morning All
Allsorts Challenge is Embossing this week chosen by Helene.  She would like to see Embossing on your creations.

I did  abit of parchment craft on this one, using an emboss and pricking stencil, mounted onto crimson and mirri card cut with Spellbinders Labels 4.  I also found the dotty embossed mirri card in my stash so used this too.  All mounted onto hammered cream card and a Leabilities Poisettia (as in my tutorial on page tab at top) and homemade pin and tag with ribbon.

And More

Good Morning All

Here is another couple of cards from the pack.  Tomorrow I will show you a different style from the pack.  Are you bored yet?

I' m so glad I have an outlet for my cards, the ladies really appreciate them and it enables them to raise much needed funds.  I also gave some to my craft friend, Val last week as her daughter sells them to raise money for a cat charity.
Wishing you all a good day.

White Only Christmas

Good Morning All

It is my turn to choose the them for Moving Along With The Times Challenge

I decided on White Only Christmas (or as near as possible) LOL
I had to use a bit of silver, and some of the snow flakes look abit cream but all cut using the same card so it is the light shining on it and casting a different shade.

I used Spellbinders Snowflakes die and Centura Pearl card.  Matted an embossed dotty card onto mirri card, homemade bead pins and sentiment tag with a lovely sparkler.
Pop over to challenge blog for all details.

More Cards

Good Morning All
Definate change in the weather here, I had to get my jeans out on Monday and a cardigan too!!!!
********
Here is another couple of cards from the pack.
The flowers on this one were made from a scalloped circle, folded into eight and cut into petal shapes, then wet and squished.

The paper on this one is at least 7 or 8 years old, one of my first buys from Create & Craft.

First of Many

Good Morning All
These are the first of the cards I mentioned yesterday.
You may be bored by the end of the week  LOL.

This is a pack that was given to me.  I could not fathom out how they folded so I took them to our craft meeting and one of the ladies showed me. There are various colours and they are shaded. Some are folded like this, some are plain, some have acetate wraps so I will show them throughout this week.
I have been making the flowers too, just wetting and squishing, similar to the tutorial on page at the top of my blog.
The gem butterfly is from local China shop and I stuck it onto acetate and cut it out, silver ones are waste from Dufex decoupage sheets.

Once again this is all stuff that has been in my stash for ages, I think the big flowers are Papermania from one of the Docrafts goody bags, so they must be afew years old.
I,m using all my older pins, I think I have progressed onto making more beautiful ones.

On a Mission

Good Morning All
I have been on a mission this weekend, by that I mean I have been trying to use some of my stash, bits I dont particularly like, if you know what I mean.
I was given a load of stuff by John Next Door before he left for UK.  A lady had come into his shop and given him loads of boxes of stuff - Kanban kits, Create & Craft boxes etc etc.  As you know, I cannot throw anything away and as I make lots of cards for charities here, I am determined to use it all, even if it takes me years !!!! LOL.
I am NOT buying any more stuff other than essentials like glue, tape etc.
I took one pack of cards with me to craft club on Thursday so I thought I would carry on until all gone.  So I have been completing these this weekend and I will show these on my posts this week.

Today I wanted to show these cute boxes.

There are loads of tutorials on You Tube for milk carton boxes.  They stand about 14cm high and I have used all sorts of  stuff I have had for years. Small flowers bought on Ebay, large black one is one I made years ago using a die cut.  Scalloped squares were given to me before we moved here, in all different colours too, so I will be using these up.  A great way of using small bits of paper too.

I have decided to make 15 or 20 and give one to each member of the Slimming Club at Christmas, yet to decide what to put inside though.

They are big enough to put afew chocolates in so I will make one each for our Mums as they are coming to Benidorm with us for Christmas.  Although we dont normally buy gifts, as we will all be together on The Day, we have agreed to swap small gifts.

Flowers are --
Roses Cheery Lynn
Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms
Some bought

Hedgehogs

Good Morning All
Moving Along With The Times challenge this time is 'Hedgehogs' chosen by Janice.
I, could not for the life of me, find a hedgehog image except Penny Black but I didn,t feel like colouring, so I finally found this decoupage with a small hedgehog in the corner.

I used a negative from a die cut, (I keep all these in a concertina file), mounted onto mirri card then embossed white card then mirri card again.
See challenge blog for all details and have fun.

Autumn or Halloween

Good Morning All
Second post from me today.
Ladybug Crafts Challenge this month is Autumn or Halloween, so for me, it had to be Autumn as I dont do Halloween really.  I did one when I was on the DT for Love to Create but it is not something I usually do as no-one wants a Halloween card here.

I went for Autumn colours, I used a Sue Wilson California Die, various leaf and flower dies in greens and browns, creams, tan.  Homemade bead thingys  under the ribbon and a homemade a sentiment tag.

Penny Black Christmas

Good Morning All

Wow change in the weather here, another thunder and lightening storm Monday, as we had one  the previous Monday too.  But thankfully it is abit cooler so I can retreat into my craftroom once again.
********
This morning it is Penny Black and More Challenge that we guest design for as a DT for Allsorts.
The theme is 'Get Ahead For Christmas'

The background is recycled from a Christmas card last year which I thought was far too pretty to throw away.  I coloured the image with Promarkers and added 2 lots of ribbon and one of my bead pins.
