About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Happy Sunday

Good morning All

My John and I have decided to go to Alicante for afew days as we are not having a main holiday this year with his Mum not being too good, we dont want to go too far away incase we get called back to UK.
Although we live so near to Alicante, we have not spent much time there.
We have rented an apartment near the castle and the harbour, so really looking forward to seeing some history and eating some yummy Spanish food.
We leave later today, a friend is driving us over as I dont feel confident driving in the city and parking would be a nightmare.

Autumn Glory for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge this week is hosted by Brenda, our team leader.
The theme is 'Autumn Glory'
I went with this digi from ?????
Now I dont really do much colouring these days as I dont find it very relaxing but I have had to do that many Autumn/ Fall cards for Dt work, I needed something different to use.
I used up all the scraps of CE Leaf Mosaic embossed card, matted them onto Autumnal shades of card - Brown, Orange, yellow.

I took afew pics this morning while walking Rico, it is lovely, nearly time for a cardigan though, but lovely clear skies this morning.

This one was looking back towards our apartment, just before the sun popped over the horizon.

These two are the other way towards the mountains, the colours of the sky was gorgeous.
The grey of the mountain, then purple to pink to orange/yellow then pale blue
The pics dont bring out the full colours, so gorgeous.

Autumn Fall for MAWTT

Good Morning All

Moving Along With The Times challenge is hosted by Jodie today and she wants to see  Fall, or our Autumn.
She is gifting a lovely prize to a randomly chosen winner too.

I used an LOTV Topper and I cut it in half and used the other piece on another DT card!!!
I started by using some strips of offcuts and weaving them to make a background.
Stuck them onto yellow card.

Matted the topper onto yellow card too and added a sentiment to the side.
Wrapped twine around with an Acorn charm tied to it, and some gems in the corner.
Added some old skeleton leaves under the edges, had these for years!!!

We had abit of rain last night, starting to feel Autumnal here in Spain now, quite nice.

Christmas bags for Crafty Ribbons

Good Morning All

It is my turn to post for Crafty Ribbons Design Team.
I had bought these paper gift bags when I was back in the UK earlier this year as I thought they would be good for decorating.
They are made from plain brown paper so I stamped some and sprayed some on the back.

These are stamped using various stamps from JND sets.

To decorate, I recycled some Christmas cards from last year.
And, of course, used the gorgeous Gros grain printed ribbon from Crafty Ribbons HERE
It also helps strengthen the tops of the bags.

This one uses a decoupage pad from Joanna Sheen

Very happy with these and they will all definately get used at Christmas.

Groovi Christmas

Good Morning All

Still nice and warm here and still able to have a swim each morning after I have walked Rico.
We have just booked afew days away in Alicante, although we live so close we have never really spent very much time there. So we are going for 4 nights and hope to have a good look around the sights, the castle and historic sights.
******

Onto another couple of Groovi Christmas cards.

I have yet to add a sentiment to this one.
I coloured the little birdies to look like Robins I hope.

The beauty of this system is that there is quite alot of alphabets n the plates and plate mates.
So you can add any sentiment you wish.
Not done any colouring on this one, just matted onto Christmas paper.

Happy Sunday

Good Morning All

Happy Sunday to you all.

It was good to get back to my Craft Club on Friday and catch up with all the ladies.

This week my little challenge is to use more than 2 squares on your cards, not counting the card blank.

These are mine.
The first two are very similar and using some squares I have had for years, topped with parchment butterflies, dragonflies and flowers, all matted onto LOTV  paper.

And this one is a 6x6
Crafty Ribbons Wish ribbon.
Docrafts paper
Embossed card matted onto mirri card with a parchment butterfly and dragonfly.
Homemade sentiment using Johns mini stamps on another square.

*********
I have no gifts to show you as I used odds left over from previous weeks.

Last fortnights sketch was this

Sharon
Got mixed up with previous challenge but I still added her name to the draw.

Val C

And Eve was the name drawn.

I would love you to play along and be in with the chance to win a small gift.
********
I have still been having a swim in the mornings after I have taken Rico for a walk.
We were lucky enough on Wednesday to get away ontime before Hurricane Eve hit the UK, take off was a bit bumpy getting through the cloud and I was quite frightened.
Flying never used to bother me but now I dont enjoy it very much and any turbulence really gets me worried!!!
Nice to be home in the sunshine, just nice at present, not too hot.

Autumn Colour for Crafty Friends

Good Morning All

Crafty Friends Challenge this week is Autumn Colours.
I have made so many Autumnal cards for DT work I struggled to make something abit different.
For this card I used afew scraps on my desk that were browns and orange and gold.
I stuck them to a base piece of card and then ran it through an Embossing Folder.
I then added a circle of parchment with a lovely orange flower I had Groovied onto it.
Added Terracota seam binding to the circle sentiment and that's it!!!
I hope it fits the bill!!!!

LOTV & Crafty Ribbons

Good morning All

I made these sweet cards, all very similar and all using the same 3 toppers from LOTV.
My favourite type of crafting is to pull afew toppers, afew papers and various ribbons and sentiments out  and make cards, as many as possible!!!

On a sheet of LOTV toppers you get 4 very small ones, so I used 3 of each card.
Just varied the paper and ribbon.
All the ribbon is from a bag of snippets from Crafty Ribbons.

Happy with these and all ready to go to the charities once I have added inserts.
Some good news as well, LOTV are starting to sell the toppers and pads again I think as they are moving away from digis due to EU laws I think.

Same plate

Good Morning All

Another two cards using the same Groovi plate, this is one of my favourite plates, so simple but can be made so beautiful with additions.
It is the same plate as I used for one of  the MAWTT cards last week.

This one is  just mounted onto a background made by myself with inks and then matted onto  mint  card.
A homemade dangle charm and sentiment tag.

This one is using three layers of parchment, two are coloured (Bought, not by me LOL)
I used the plate on the small top square and then matched up on the piece underneath.
Still practising my borders.
Very pleased with this and I will save  it , to be given to a special person.

Well, back home tomorrow and I will be so glad to get in my own bed and to go and get Rico Thursday, I have missed him.

Good morning

I am asking you all a favour, please click on link to Post pals in the side bar and find Skylah.
This little girls tumours are growing again.   She loves Blind Bags especially Disney Rapunzel and Peppa pig ones. I must admit that I did not know  what they were but googled them. They can be bought at Argos, Sainsburies etc so I am going to buy some today  and post to her tomorrow.
If you do Facebook search Post pals there  for the story. She is so beautiful, there is a pic of her with her little brother I think.
It makes you count your blessings as I go yo visit 3 of my grandkids this morning before we go off to John's mums again.

I can't copy and paste the story as I am on my tablet  but please have a look.

Thank you

Wendy L

Update.
I have ordered some from Argos to collect tomorrow but they did not have the Disney or peppa pig. I hope the ones I have bought bring a little smile to her face.

Create A Scene for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge this week is set by Ellie and she would like us to
Make a Scene using stamps or dies.

I used the same stamps as I used last week for Allsorts, from Creative Stamping magazine a while ago, but I do like them.

I started it by using JND Oval Media plate and Izinks.
I stamped some of the animals  in the forefront and the giraffe at the back.
Then added lots of grasses, branches and leaves.
Happy with this one.

Our sponsor this week is Swedish House Crafts.
They sell a wide variety of crafting items so why not pop over and take a peek.

Use Ribbon for MAWTT

Good Morning All
Moving Along With The Times Challenge is hosted by Jenny  this time, and as we are sponsored by Crafty Ribbons, she wants RIBBON.
Love this ribbon John gave me, green and cerise, so just coloured odd parts of the Groovi pattern with green.

Pretty Lilac Organza ribbon.

Pretty White Satin Ribbon with the same Groovi plate as the one above, just a different colour scheme.
