About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Crochet Shawl

Good Sunday Morning All
I am so pleased to announce that my eldest son, Lee and his partner have found out that they are having a girl, a little sister for Noah.

I have had this shawl on the go for more than a year and finished it afew weeks ago, just in case.

I also have done another blanket in lemon, using the same batch of wool I bought at the local craft shop before it closed, I will show this in a future post.  I showed the start of it HERE as I couldn't wait to show off this lovely new (to me anyway) stitch I had seen.  HERE is Hollies cardigan using the same wool and here she is wearing it.

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend, Mum is taking us out for a Sunday roast today, Mmmm.

Anything But A Card

Good Morning All

Well, wonderful news for John next Door as he announced on Tuesday, he is to appear on C&C, I knew this would happen for him, and it was the best move for him, going back to the UK, I miss him.
*******
Charisma Challenge time again and the theme is 'Anything But a Card'.

I decided to recycle a small Pringles tub.

I used this cute image from the Sponsor of fishes kissing, coloured with Promarkers.   Decorated with some paper I was given.

Stuck some strips of gems around it and used  a couple of my crochet flowers on the top.

I gave this to Hollie when she visited, so sad now that they have gone home.  Both Mums here now so still busy.

15th Wedding Anniversary

Good Morning All

So sad today as Hollie, Rick and Lorien went home last night.  She is such fun and miss them all.
Just afew of MANY pics I took of them.

***************

Anyway, onto card making.

I was asked to make this when my neighbours daughter was here a couple of weeks ago.  She was going to an Anniversary party, the day after she got home and needed a lovely card because it was  special Anniversary, 15 years.
Emma, herself,  got engaged while she was here and I made her a card and she thought it was so nice she asked me to make one for her friend.

Cheery Lynn flowers and Marianne die.

I had to use Peeloffs as my printer was not working, waiting for new inks to arrive.

Not A Card

Good Morning All
I have barely looked at my laptop this week as Hollie and her Mum and Dad as still here, so I am spending as much time as possible with them.
*************
Hobbycutz Challenge this week has been set by MOI and I want to see all your gorgeous creations which are NOT cards.  So - scrapbook page, box, fabric, knitting, crochet, sewing ....................

I decided to make a wall/door hanger.

It is hard to get a good photo because of the length.

I cut scalloped squares and matted with Spellbinders Fleur do Lis  squares, red on one side and Centura pearl on the other.  I used Hobbycutz snowflakes and glittered them, then used bits and bobs that were in my Christmas box.

I shall put this on the patio doors between my craft room and living room at Christmas time.
*******

I also decorated another of the boxes, carrying on from these posts a good while ago HERE, HERE  HERE and HERE which my older followers will remember.

I covered in a lilac handmade paper, wrapped some 'Cat Ribbon' (won from Crafty Ribbons ) around as I am giving it to Hollie and she loves cats. Then added flowers, gems, button, crochet flowers and hearts.
I wrote the label by hand, hopefully, it looks OK.
Put a tiny envelope and card on top aswell with a little note form Nanna.

I put the image from A Day For Daisies inside the lid and added a couple of Marianne die cut butterflies.

In a future post you will see a Keepsake Box I have made for Noah too.

I hope you will join in the challenge this week.

Based on a Film Title

Good Morning All
It is my turn to host the challenge at Allsorts this week, and I thought something abit different was in order.
So I would like to see your creations based on a Film Title, hop over to the challenge blog for all details.

I adore films that include DANCING,  my all time, forever fave has got to be Dirty Dancing, Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Gray.  Also, Flashdance, Saturday Night Fever and Shall We Dance, love them all.  I also adore these old fashioned costumes, like in 'Gone With The Wind' which seems to be a fave with afew of the DT too.  We are watching the series 'The Tudors' at present about King Henry VIII and the costumes in that are amazing
I had this sweet image from our sponsor I wanted to use, it is so sweet and cute, a pair dancing, I love the old fashioned clothes, abit like 'Gone With The Wind', love those swirly skirts and bustles.

I added a sweet bronze bucket charm that matched the buckle colour, homemade bead decoration and sentiment tags.  Lace to match the lacy outfits.
I hope you will join in the challenge.

Sugar & Spice

Good Morning All
Woohoo, 2 days until Hollie arrives, I,m like a kid waiting for Christmas.  And, hopefully, Noah will be coming early in October, his first venture abroad.
*******************
Allsorts Challenge  is 'Sugar & Spice'  all things nice, Girly, sweet treats etc, and has been chosen by our Tracy Mouse.
I decided to take this opportunity to make a Birthday card for one of my sisters.  I used a decoupage image that I had in my box, a cute cat carrying a cake (sweet treats)
Everything is from my stash, all the dies cuts I keep ready to use in boxes.
The circle sentiment is from Scrappers Delight
Joanna Sheen ribbon and Bead pins made by me!!

When we have our craft meets on Thursdays, if any of us have bought new dies, we take them along and let the others borrow them, or die cut there as I take the Cuttlebug, so this is where alot of these are from.

Similar Lilacs

Good Morning All

This selection  are like the cards I made yesterday but in lilacs.  I love it, now that we dont have to stick to traditional Christmas colours of red and green, although I do love to see a  traditional Christmas card, I do like using all colours.

I have not bought any Christmas stuff this year, only this lovely holographic mirri card is new, all the papers have been in my box  for one or two years, if not longer.

The tiny gems on the bauble are probably 5 years old!!!!!

Peeloffs are just as old, tiny ones stuck on the bauble on this one

I did all the die cutting first using a variation of shapes, then sat down and put together, I had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.
Do you feel that sometimes things go right and other times it just doesn't come together

I did have to borrow the bauble die from my friend Val, Thanks Val.

All very similar but different and if I didn't put the bead pin on they would go flat for posting.

New Beads

Good Morning All
I took possession of some gorgously stunning Chrystal beads yesterday and I couldn't wait to get started on them. I bought a selection of colours, red, green, turquoise, dark blue, clear and mirrored.

Here is a card I made with the red ones and below is a picture of red and green, great for Christmas cards.  I will show the other colours when I have made the pins.

This card uses the Sissix 'Iron Gate' die and the Winter Wishes is one I borrowed from one of the Thursday morning craft group girls.  All mounted onto embossed white card, quite simple really but I think it looks good.

All bead pins still on offer at top of blog.

Pretty In Pink

Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge is 'Pretty In Pink' and has been set by Susan.
I think this will be popular one.

I used a Digistamp image, a lovely one for a sad occasion, such a beautiful sentiment on it.

I cut the aperture with Spellbinders die and glued the image inside.
Decorated with homemade sentiment tags, ribbon and bead pin.
