Flowers & Pearls

Good Morning All

Wow I had a trip and a half on Thursday.  I went with the couple who have set up the car business in the village, he is doing well and selling plenty of cars so he needed to source some more to sell.  He found a couple in Marbella, so he asked me if I was willing to help out and go with them to bring one back.  We set off a 6am and got back at 7pm, about 5 hours driving, but the scenery was gorgeous, driving right by the Sierra Nevada mountains, still topped with snow.

Allsorts Challenge this week has been set by Mervi and she wants to see 'Flowers & Pearls'

I used black & white, flowers given to me by Linda (Animal Aid), flowery paper in stash for ages.  Squares are Nellie Snellen  MFD006 and the 'For You' Sentiment is a Sissix die which will go in the bin as it does not cut very well, it comes with a swirl but that cuts even worse than this one.  I bought it on Ebay, waste of money.

Spring Is In The Air

Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge this week is 'Spring is in the Air', set by Brenda.

I chose a variety  of lovely vibrant greens with  flowers, a reminder of new buds on the trees.

I used Marianne die CR1202 for the frame and the flowers, another S/B scalloped circle for the sentiment which was a freebie from somewhere but i cant remember where so if anyone knows I would love to give credit. Used odd bits of green card for the backing.

Penny Black 'Blossoms & Bows

Good Morning all

It is my turn to contribute to the Penny Black  at Allsorts Challenge and the theme is Blossoms  & Bows.

A sweet, pretty Penny Black image   4164K Titled 'A Rose'.
 Embellished with lots of flowers, and ribbons from Joanna Sheen, and I used the S/B Scalloped Hexagon for the sentiment, I do use this alot for my sentiments.

We started back at our craft meeting on Thursday and it was lovely to see the girls, some not seen  for over 6 months and there was a couple of new ladies too and one was doing a rag rug, do you remember those?

I used pale blue brads to attach the vellum sentiment to the card.  Lots of quilled flowers in shades of blues and white, My Minds Eye paper.  The dies used are Marianne LR 0200 for the dark blue trellis pieces and Memory Box 'Elegant Scroll'

Two from One Card Recycled

Good Morning All

I made a card for my neighbours birthday last year and his wife always gives me any cards they have received after the event to see if I can recycle them, and, if you know me, you know I can't throw anything away!!!!!

The original card was an easel with the pic of the little boy propped up on the base of embossed tools,

and here is what I made from it.

 I made two cards from the one.

I used X Cut Tags and S/B Scalloped Circles for the sentiments. 

I,m not sure if I have listed these before but I dont think the odd one will make much difference, do you?

Pretty Purple

Good Morning All

Another couple of Marianne dies today,  LR 0106 and LR 0107, both flowers, one has rounded petals and the other has pointed ones.  The sentiment is set into a S/B Die D Lites Frame One.

I decorated the inside too with the leftover paper but the reverse of it.

Bright Oranges

Good Morning All

Well I am getting to the end of my dies, only afew more days I think, well, maybe more than afew!!!!!
Afew of my blog friends have been counting their dies sets and I have a small amount compared to some of you!!!!!!
I was asked if I was counting the individual dies or the die sets, well it is the die sets, this means that, for example, S/B labels 4 has about 5 dies in the set but I count this as one.

Todays is quite a bright card and I used Cheery Lynn SF-2 Stacker Flower, Memory Box  Double Ticket for the sentiment and Marianne LR0152for the decorative circles.

I quite like the way this one turned out even though oranges and yellows are not colours I use a great deal but have used them afew times during this challenge to myself.

Purple

Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge this week has been set by Jo and she wants to see 'Purple'.

Quite an easy one for me because I love purple and I can assure you this is purple, not blue as it looks in the pic.

 I cut a doily using X Cut doily Die cut and for the  corners I used Cheery Lynn B175 'Lace Corners' and I cut the other two corners and used on the inside.

The sweet image is a digi from one of the sponsors Day for Daisies and our other sponsor is Nicecrane.

LOTV Baby Boy

Good Morning All

Todays card features two Marianne dies, one is the fence, birdie and cage and John Next Door gave it to me so I dont have the number and the other is  Marianne CR1249 for the square and flower.

The paper is LOTV as is the topper.  I have started using the spare paper to decorate the inside of my cards so that I am not left with loads of odd bits, that I think I will use and I never do.

ABC Challenge - D is for Diecuts

Pink & Butterflies

Good morning All

The challenge at Moving Along With The Times is Pink & Butterflies and I am hosting it this week.

Pop over to the challenge blog to see all the other  gorgeous DT creations, and we have three new ladies joined us this week on Team A.

I used S/B Butterfly Circles die for this one and cut in pink and white, inked the edges and put brown Liquid Pearls on. The sentiment is stuck onto an X Cut labels die but I do use these all the time so not counting in my dies challenge today.  I had the lovely little butterfly charms in my box so put onto a pin and stuck under the ribbon.

Inside I used S/B Belly Band Die 5, I know this can be used to create a lovely band for a card but I just cut two shapes in pink and brown it put inside my card.

Dies Total = 60

(I,ve got more dies than I thought I had and still got some to show)

Flourish

Good Morning All 
My eyes are a little worse today but not sore at all, I look abit like a panda LOL, but feeling alot better in myself, so back to crafting today!!!!!!

A DL card and I used a Budding Vine embossing folder mounted onto blue card.  The flowers are dies I have used before, Cheery Lynn Roses and Chrysanthemums but the swirls are Sissix
Decorative Flourish.  I used a little Gilding Wax to lift the embossing.

Pink & Green

Good Morning All

This is the sorry sight in the mirror this morning.

Yesterday I felt my vision was not quite right and it must have been because the bridge of my nose was swelling so my glasses weren't sitting correctly,  so the bi-focal bit wasn' t right.
So this morning my eyelids are bloody and swollen. Still feel sicky and shaky inside, and of course a headache.

I love this Cheery Lynn Ivy Corner Flourish and I have matched it with Marianne  LR0168 for the Centre flower.  I,m still on a mission to use lots of old stuff and the bead pins are some of the first I ever made.  The white embossed background card is used bought cards that I get given, so I use the plain pieces for embossing.

I used a pearly Gilding Wax on the pink centrepiece but it doesn't show too good.

Dies Total = 57

Nearly there now, if anyone had asked me how many dies I had, I would have said about 20 to 30 LOL, and now I am upto  57

Hearts Again

Good Morning All

My friend Val loved her Birthday card I showed yesterday.

I,m feeling abit sore today, I took a tumble down the stairs on Saturday evening as I was going to get ready to go out.  I dont know how I did it but fell the last couple of stairs and smacked my head against the floor and the wall, so two nice large, very sore lumps on me noggin and very bruised right knee and shin. And I think I jarred my neck too, as my shoulders are sore.
 Ooh how I want to get a flat all on one level!!!!!!

Todays card is Hearts again, I have already done one featuring a Heart die and this is another one  but using Cheery Lynn small hearts DL128 and the bigger heart is X Cut Filigree Heart.

When I set myself this challenge I thought I would have used them all within one month,  LOL how surprised am I.!!!!

Yesterday was my friend Vals Birthday and this is the card I made for her.

I found out just before Christmas that she loves to dance, a right little raver when she goes out!!!! so I used this Tonic 'Party Heels' die, I thought would be perfect for her.

I chose to do a Sympathy card as my charities do require a fair amount of them unfortunately.

I matted a Sissix 'Iron Gate' die cut from Centura Pearl card  onto green patterned paper and black card.

I used the Leanne die again for the flower, and added Gilding wax.

Using Broken Jewellery

Good Morning All

On this card I have used some pieces of broken jewellery that was given to me.

The gold and pearl piece on the bow is one and the other is in the centre of the die cut, it is like a diamond stud.  The die used is S/B Shapeabilities Pendants in Spades cut in silver Mirri card. I embossed a piece of white card and added some Gilding wax.  I  mounted the sentiment on

  S/B Scalloped Hexagon, this is another one I use alot for sentiments.

Elegant Swirl

Todays card features  two Spellbinders dies, Heartfelt Creations Layered Elegant Swirl

  Grommet Tags

I have done this style of card before.



I used one of the Grommets tags on the outside and one on the inside, there is, infact three in the pack.

My Minds Eye paper and I've used the remainder for the inside once I had cut pieces for the fronts.  I have started doing this so that I am not left with loads of odd pieces of paper.

18th Birthday

Good Morning All
I had my  hair cut yesterday at a local English salon that trains hairdressers and they did not charge me for it either.  I used to do this when I lived in UK, my hairdresser took on a trainee and asked me if I would let her practice on me, I was quite happy to oblige and will do the same here, so in a couple of weeks she is putting a colour on for me, I will let you know how it goes.

This is the Envelope album  that I mentioned yesterday, I made for my neighbour  Susie, it is her birthday on 27th of this month. Tomorrow I will show you the bag I made for it to go into.

Susie is like me, she had a gorgeous Grand daughter back in the UK, so I thought she might like this to store photos of her.


I put 12 envelopes in so that she could use one for each month or even one for each year, depending how many photos she has.

These days most people store photos on computers or memory sticks, as I do, but I do print some and put them in albums that I have made.

 I lined each envelope with different patterned papers and stuck all sorts of embellishments on too.

 and I used these pink shapes and lined some with acetate so she could add  onto any page as a tiny photo frame or use some as tags to write on.

Best Friend

Good Morning All

Busy weekend and we came third in the quiz last night, and now going to village to have my hair trimmed too.
  I was trying a couple of new things yesterday, one was making paper gift bags and the other was a gift for my neighbours birthday in a couple of weeks, an envelope photo book  I will try to slot them into a post this week to show you.
