About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Good Morning All

Trying to use all the scraps from my scrappy box and this is one I have made.

Quick Christmas Cards

Good Morning All
I love nothing better than to put afew items on my desk then make cards.
I pulled out some Christmas stuff, as I need to make so many.
Before John moved back to UK he cleared some stuff out and he left some pages in a Nordic Paper Pad and this is what I made with some bits what are left from it.

I counted my Christmas cards the other day and am now upto about 70 and have done about half of ones for myself.
Have a good week.
Just over two weeks until I get on the plane to East Mids, cant wait to see John and the family.

Having problems with Picassa and Blogger at present, anyone suffering?

Anyone going to Ally Pally???

More than 2 die for Allsorts

Good Morning All
I,m hosting the challenge this week at Allsorts and I want to see at least two or more diecuts on your wonderful creations.
As we are sponsored by Sissix I used their Iron Gate Die, one of my faves.

Did you see John Next Door demoing this technique on Hochanda back in April.
He glued tin foil to card then ran it through an embossing folder.
If I remember correctly, he inked his but I used Gilding Polish on CE Wild Roses Folder.
Cut the Iron Gate die in white card.
I made a frame with the pierced rectangles.
Added some satin flower and mosaic leaves.
Get Well sentiment in the bottom corner with two gems. Fine plaited leather down each side.

Glitter for Crafty Friends

Good Morning All
My first post today is for Crafty Friends Challenge
and the chosen theme is Use Lots of Glitter.
We have 3 sponsors for this one and I chose Bella Bridesmaid from Digi Stamps 4 Joy.

One of my fancy Stick Pins.

All the layers are matted onto some gorgeous new glitter card I  bought when I went shopping with my crafty friend Val.
We found a new, massive China shop and we were in there for ages.
Anyway, they had these sheets of glitter card and it doesn't shed either.
1 euro for an A1 (I think) sheet and they had mirri card too for the same price.

Glittery ribbon I was given, which I thought matched pretty well.

I used gold Stickles on her hair for abit more glitter too.

White Box Card

Good Morning All
I was asked to make a box card for a  lady who loves this style of card.

I kept to all shades of white.

I added one of my bead decorations which I thought she may be able to use for a bag or phone charm.

I was very pleased how this turned out.

John Next Door

Good Morning All

As many of you will know John Next Door has moved into a new flat and here is the card I sent to him.  He should have received it by now.

I used his Daisy Stamp  on black card and coloured with Mica Powders, and paper from one of his pads.
CE ribbon I made into a bow by threading through a pearl buckle.
Then I just had to add a Peel off, a standing joke 'cos I know John hates them !!!!

Good Luck John in your new home.

Similar but Different

Good Morning All
I am still cracking on with my Christmas cards and I think I shall keep these two for myself to send, not for the charities.
These are both the same design but slightly different.
This one has just plain mirri card under the CE Lattice Frame

And this one I have used a D/S sticky sheet and added CE Iced Snow.
Gilding Polish around the edges.
CE Poinsettia die and stamp.
Circle sentiment a freebie from Netty HERE

Fab Florals for Allsorts

Good Morning All
Allsorts challenge this week is hosted by our lovely team leader Brenda and as she is a floral person she wants to see Flowers.

I loved this image so much from a Birthday card my sister sent to me, I had to recycle it.
I mounted it onto a scalloped square and cut a frame with CE Noble Pierced squares, then embossed it with  CE Mosaic Leaf folder and inked it.
Then just added a double bow and two butterflies.

Things With Wings for Craft Rocket

Good Morning All
Craft Rocket Challenge this time is Things With Wings.
So, obviously for me, it had to be butterflies!!!!

I made this Parchment fan using a board but still very enjoyable to do.
I decorated it up with die cut butterflies (I think these are Spellbinders die cuts from John Next Door) and a paper one given as a gift from my friend Val.

There are some amazing creations on the challenge blog.

Butterflies for Allsorts

Good Morning All
Allsorts Challenge this week is hosted by Susan and a nice girly theme of Butterflies.

I bought this gorgeous Embossing folder at Ally Pally.
I used pearlised pink card (Using it all up as it is not needed now with Gilding Polishes LOL).
I cut a frame using CE Noble Pierced Rectangles.

I think the stamp is from one of Johns sets.

A couple of Gem butterflies and a CE die cut on too.

Sponsor this week is Stamp Addicts

Mini Display Cabinet

Good Morning All
When I was in a charity shop the other week, I saw this box for 1 euro.
I couldn't resist it, I thought it was too sweet.
It's like a tiny display cabinet.

I took all the hinges and fasteners off first.
I painted it Pink with Creative Expression Chalk paint.

Then I used Decoupage Papers around the outside.
And put the hinges back on.

I added Cream Lace around the outside and I found this  sticker embellishment in my stash which I thought was very suitable with the 'best friend' on the front.

Added Lace and Lilac narrow ribbon on the front.

Butterflies and pearls on the front window.

I threaded Pearls and Beads and a  couple of charms onto ribbon.

This is the inside.

Thanks for visiting and commenting, I do enjoy reading them.

Aperture Box

Good Morning All
I saw John Next Door make this style of box on Hochanda last time when he was demoing the new cutting dies.
The dimensions are HERE on his blog.
Very easy to make and could be made using many different dies to cut the aperture.
And only uses one piece of A4 card.

I used Creative Expressions
Sue Wilson Tags die
Acetate behind the aperture.

I just need t find where I can buy battery Tealight Candles here in Spain.

I think I may be making more of these for little Christmas gifts for the neighbours.

Thank you for all your kind comments on Lucas' Birthday.

It is for my Johns Daughters Birthday and I,m very pleased how it turned out.
I used Tied Together Emboss folder
CE Cosmic Shimmer for pearls dots
S/B Edgabilities for centre band
Not sure whose the 'With Love' die is (from my craft meet)

Here is one  using twice the size of paper.
I thought it looked abit like a Christmas Tree
*****
I am getting into making my Christmas card and using all bits from my box that I got out of the spare wardrobe last week.
I am not buying anymore Christmas stuff,
well, not until I get to Ally Pally in September !!!!!
If anyone is going I would love to see you as I am helping a friend out, but too busy on Saturday so Sunday would be great if you are going.

Sad day for me today, Lucas would have been 7 years old.
R.I.P darling boy.

I used Tagul to make the background paper.
Xcut Alphabet die for her name.
Bits & bobs from stash - charms, ribbon and Disney pin.

Glitzy Glitter for Craft Rocket

Good Morning All
The challenge this time at Craft Rocket is Glitzy Glitter.

I used Pink Glitter paper to mat this cute picture of a puppy on.
LOTV paper (bits left from another project matted onto pink card)  and some gems in the corners and on the sentiment.
This, hopefully, is winging it's way to my sort of ex niece for her Birthday on Friday.
I hate saying ex just because I,m not married to her uncle anymore, I have still kept in touch with the family.

Join me later for another challenge post
Thanks

Brads

Good Morning All

I have been making afew brads, or rather changing the look of them.
I used one on my post HERE last week.

I went to the China store and bought some large plain brads in gold and silver colour.
I dipped onto my Sticky Pad ready to emboss with glittery powder.

These are green ones and these turned out the best.

The bronze ones are using CE fine embossing powder
and the silver are using Stampin' Up powder.
They both went very smooth.

The ones on the far right are using glitter on Anitas Clear gloss.
I had fun making these and the green ones will be good for my Christmas cards.

                                                     *********************
It was this gorgeous girls Birthday yesterday, 4 years old.
She's on holiday with the family and she came out in Chicken pox the day they were leaving, hence the spotty face in the 2nd pic.

Obviously she was feeling well.

Much better getting these illnesses when they are young, I had chicken pox when my two were little, when they had it, and boy, was I ill.
I was laid up in bed for a week and had to have the Doctor out as I was in that much pain.
Thanks goodness my Mum was around to help with the boys.
I think they were about 3 and 5 years old.
We Skyped yesterday morning while she opened her presents which was lovely.
