About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Groovi Poppet

 Good Morning All

I gave in to temptation when Pergamano brought out these printed Poppet designs, so cute.

They were released at the same time as the Italian Grid plates too so it was a very considered purchase but well worth it as I will get lots of use from them all.

This grid is called Naples and the Poppet is called Poppy and I coloured her with water colour pencils on the back.

All backed onto Clarity designer paper.

Ooohhh I have just seen a mistake on this one as I Look at the pic, I wonder if I can rectify it!!!

Afew weeks ago at my slimming class a lady asked if I could crochet some face mask holders.
She sent me a pic of one she had bought and it is just a long row of chains and Single Crochets.
On some I added a safety pin at each end and the one she had bought was doubled back to make a loop and a  pearl added.
They hold your mask when you take it from your face, similar to glasses holders.
Here we have to wear a mask to go in a bar and go to the loo but we dont have to wear it at the table, so these are very handy, John wore one all the time in Alicante last week.
Quick and easy enough to make too.

Take care

Cards from Tags

 Good Morning All

I showed some tags I made for my DT at Allsorts back on 3rd Oct HERE

As I have already made most of my Tags for Christmas gifts for family, I thought I would make these into cards.

This 1st one, I added to a background of embossed mirri card, easy peasy.

The next one I used odd scraps of embossed cars I had left and added a couple of pearly snowflakes

So two more cards for the box.
I have been asked if I want a stall at a small Craft Fayre in November so I said yes and now have to get together a larger collection of cards to sell hopefully.  I have not made too many Christmas cards as I had enough for my own personal use.

This one had two iron struts holding up a branch, you can see one on the left by the lampost.

This is one of the shopping streets in the old town.

Groovi for Crafty Ribbons

 Good Morning All

It is my turn to post for Crafty Ribbons Design Team.I used a snip of some sentiment ribbon that was on my desk to adorn this Groovi card.

This is a new Groovi plate I bought and is meant to create a wrap, like an envelope, but I thought I would get more use using it like this. There are many variations that can be created.

I layered a green piece ontop of a normal piece of parchment.   It is a very pretty, delicate design.   I added pearls to some of the scallops.

I added the ribbon as a sentiment and the Birthday tag with Seam Binding, all available from Crafty Ribbons

Similar design with a homemade crochet doily.

And another one!

And here is a card made by one of my Groovi Class group.
She has not done parchment work before so I think she has done good.

*******
As I may have mentioned, we are in Alicante having a few days away.
Having a lovely time, too much to eat and drink but walking it off I hope.
Getting eaten alive though at night  by the mossies,  I must have good blood!!!!!
See you Saturday.

Allsorts Challenge this week is hosted by Mervi and her theme is

Cute Christmas.

I went with an LOTV Topper, infact, I used four smaller ones and made a card for one of my Grandaughters.

The angel ribbon across the middle is from Crafty Ribbons.

The base is gold Glitter card and holographic silver for the Pierced Square.

Everything else has come from my stash.

Here are some Tags  using paper from Pinksy Doodles , our sponsor.

Animal or Birds for MAWTT

 Good Morning All

Zoe has chosen the theme for this months challenge at Moving Along With The Times.

Afew weeks ago my Friend Val and I went to a new craft chop that had opened about half an hours drive away.

It is very small and everything is crammed in but I had to buy something to show willing.

I bought a little pad of toppers of such cute puppies and this is one of them.

Pop over to the challenge blog and why not join in.

Crafty Ribbons have their October Selection Box available now and it is great value for money.

My Junk Journal Class

 Good Morning All

On Thursday I am holding a Junk Journal class for beginners at my local craft shop.

This is a very very simple one I have made to show them the process to get them started.

This has been made using all stuff from my vast stash!!

I have not printed and papers from kits, only bits I already have printed, as I just want to show them what can be done with out really spending any money.

The cover is made from a Kraft file folder cut in half and covered using

a book page and afew bits I already had.

I am supplying everything for them so I shall be getting rid of alot of my bits and bobs.

Inside front cover.  Paint splatted paper

Tuck pocket using a book page

Double pockets using a text book page

Tiny books made from offcuts of paper and held in place with tiny bellybands.
Now these really are scraps.

Inside the back cover and 3 mini envelopes ticked into a triple corner pocket made from another book page.

All tied together with seam binding.

Thanks for visiting and wish me luck for Thursday.
