About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Pretty Box

Good Morning All
Jen, one of our ladies at Craft Club, showed us how to make this lovely box.

She showed us and I made this one but I could not for the life of me, remember how to make it.
I searched You Tube to no avail, so I had to ask Jen to show us again.

I have made afew and put them in the local bar to see if they sell.
This one used a 12 x 12 piece of paper and 4, 6x6 pieces for lid.
This makes a box about 4" but you can use smaller pieces for a smaller box.
Very pleased with it and have since made more and smaller ones too, to sell in the bar.
Our Craft Club today, love it, crafting and chatting.

Tiny Butterflies

Good Morning All
A while ago, in a swap I received, there were some tiny butterfly embellishments.
They were so cute I thought I would make some myself.
The only problem was that my butterfly punch had broken and I couldn't be bothered die cutting them all, so I asked the girls at our Craft Meet if they had one  I could borrow.
I got a Martha Stewart one and a Stampin' Up one, both gorgeous.
I sat at night making loads of them, layering with vellum  and adding gems or pearls.
I have cut a load out as I  have given the punches back now, but got loads to stick together.

Well here is a card I made using some of the butterflies.

A very simple card, I just stuck some of the butterflies onto embossed card, added sentiment (homemade) and a ribbon.

Love LOTV

Good Morning All
A I hav4 mentioned before, Gail that was visiting Spain gave me some LOTV toppers when we met up for Coffee before Christmas.
This is one of them.

I made an aperture in the front of a
 6 x 6 card blank suing S/B Decorative Labels 22.

I used the smaller one for the image to go onto inside that aperture.

Perfect peonies and leaves for the corner.
Some heart gems and Want 2 Scrap corners.

I used two different sheets from LOTV Country Meadows Paper pad.
So glad I bought afew of these pads before they stopped selling them.

I used the piece I had cut out from the front for the inside.
Waste not want not. !!!1

Desk Calendar

Good Morning All
Here is a Desk Calendar I made for a swap on Facebook.
I found the calendar months on the net and printed off.
Then made a card for each month and layered with another piece of paper from LOTV, but I left one end open to put a tag in for dates or journaling
Random stamping and embellishments on each page.

I hope my swap partner liked it.

Paper Piecing for Allsorts

Good Morning All
Kath is hosting this weeks challenge at Allsorts and she has chosen Paper Piecing.
I used this cute image called Coco & Roses from our sponsor Digistamp Boutique.
The hessian card and paper are from a pad a friend gave to me, not sure whose they are, but match well I think.
CE Ornate Oval.
I have paper pieced the bunch of flowers but it is hard to tell on this pic.

and I would like to see Circles of Flowers (Roses).
I made two cards for this one.

I hate to say how long I have had this silver on gold embossed card.

Organza ribbon with one of my stick pins and a heart shaped gem.

All matted onto Pierced Circle and Square.

This is a second card I made

The flowers are made with Cheery Lynn Roses die in shades of white and blue with gem and pearl centres.
Seam binding bow with gold linky stuff.

Hop over to the challenge blog and have a go.
I am offering a surprise gift for a randomly chosen winner.
My sister asked about my card stand, it is HERE

Shabby Chic Card

Good Morning All
I have been playing around with Shabby Chic again after watching Pamellias You tube videos.
She has amazing talent and I adore her style.  I find it quite difficult because I need to have format and order.  But I love the look of Shabby Chic so I am going to keep practicing.
I had to make a box for it too as it is quite a deep card with the flowers on.

This is the lid of the box.

Card in box and lid.

Very happy with this.

Junk Journal No. 2

Good Morning All
Junk Journal number 2.
This is a great way of using all your bits of scrap papers which we all have I,m sure.
I know that sounds abit awful but it is true, we all have so much we never use and if I can put a smile of one of these kids faces then that is great.
I know I have to pay the postage costs but it was not too bad, just under 7 euros for this Journal to the UK.

I posted this last week to one of the children on Post Pals, obviously one of the older girls.
I hope she enjoys it.
Lots of pics coming up!!!!!

Front, not gone too overboard with this one.

Hand crochet doily and a charm.

 The spine with bead charms.

The back.

Inside using all the scraps of paper to create pockets and tuck spots for tags and journalling.

I put a pocket at the back with lots of bits of card for her to write on and some stickers.

I hope she likes it and I sent some extra bits for her sister too as Post Pals encourage you to send to the siblings too, as  life must be difficult for them too, with so much of their parents time taken up with hospital visits etc.
