About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Guest DT for Creative Corner Week 3

Good Morning All
The challenge this week at Creative Corners Challenge  is 'Inspired By A Song'.
The sponsor is Bugaboo so I have used one of their digis 'Thinking of You'. Added some Cheery Lynn 'Roses' , homemade bead pin and lightly coloured the image.

As this is intended as a 'Sympathy' card ---  the song is 'These Are The Days Of Our Lives' by Queen.
I am a great Freddie Mercury and Queen fan and the reason I chose this song is because a very dear friend of mine was killed on his motorbike over 10 years ago now, and his family had this song  playing as people were going into the church.  Afew weeks after the funeral, my sister and I went to the Queen Convention (we used to go every year,  loads of Queen fans meet up and have great fun, usually at a Holiday Centre like Pontins) this record was played and I was in bits, every time I hear it I think of Lol (Lawrence).  The saddest part was, his older brother had been killed on his motorbike about 15 years earlier, less than afew miles from where Lol was killed.  I still feel for their family.  Sorry to get so maudlin.  I did not make cards at that time and as many of you know, crafting does help get you through horrible times, as you will know from my header on my blog.

Back to HAPPY ----   Hop over to Creative Corner Challenge and have fun.

One of my favourite Queen songs Wendy, there's never been another voice to mirror Freddy. Only saw them in concert once but it was awesome and we did go to the Wembley concert in his memory following his death which was equally amazing with so many artists there.

And you card is very pretty.

Your card is so beautiful. I love your song choice and the special reason behind it.
I agree that crafting is a great form of therapy.
Take care
