About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Happy day

Good Morning All

We had a lovely day on Sunday.
I didn't  know it but it was a birthday of a lady here on holiday. We meet up with Helen and Paul when they come over, they have a house here in the village.
They are coming to live here permanently  in August  so we will see more of them .
You know when you just hit it off with someone, well I'm like that with Helen, she is lovely.
Anyway, she became a grandmother for the first time 4 weeks ago so I gave her a card and a pram blanket I had crocheted.
This is the card, a sweet rocking horse Groovi image.

I used the same plate to make my grandaughter birthday card for next week.
This was done on coloured parchment so it stands out more.
One of my Craft Club ladies saw this card and her grandaughter has the same name so she made the same card at club last week.
I now have another convert to Groovi in my club.

Spring Flowers for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Spring Flowers for Allsorts this week hosted by Me.
Or rather should have been me but I completely forgot so Brenda has stepped in for me, my apologies.

I always associate Daffodils with Spring.
I used to love seeing them grow along the side of the road, all different shades of yellow and cream.

I made two cards using the same decoupage set.
I cant even tell you how long I have had this in my stash.  I think someone gave it to me and they had got it from Create & Craft.

Papers were all free in a magazine .

This one, I added an organza bow and a charm.
Homemade sentiment tag using JND stamps

I found a frame I had cut a while ago too and thought this would look good.

Brenda is giving a prize of.................

Same but different

Good Morning All

As you know, whenever I go away I always take some sort of crafting to do, very often, scissors and decoupage.  Then when I get home they go in my 'Topper' box.
Wwell I have been trying to use afew and here they are and a couple more tomorrow.
The decoupage is all off one sheet and some are quite small.

So I used quite strong paper for the small ones.

I will show a couple more tomorrow.

Cook / Baking for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge time again and our Mervi has chosen the theme of
 Kitchen - Cooking/ Baking

As usual, when abit stuck, I delve into my LOTV stash for something to use and found this Thomas the Cat topper, so sweet in both senses of the word !!!
The card base is using paper scraps that were a some paper pads I bought when I was in UK
See my post here to see the bases I made with them.
Also there was a bag of these candy button things with some stuff I bought too, and I mean a BIG bag.
I gave all my craft club ladies some in their Christmas bags.
I,ve never seen them before but I love them, there are loads of different colours and designs.

I added a Birthday cake charm to the ribbon that is masking the join of the two papers.

A homemade sentiment tag tied with twine.

Brenda is giving this lovely Gingerbread stamp set as a prize.

A Little bit Shabby for MAWTT

Good Morning All

Moving Along With The Times Challenge this week is hosted by a newer DT, June, but as she is not well I am standing in for her.

She wants to see
A Little bit Shabby Chic
creations this time.
Now I love Shabby Chic but I find it quite hard to accomplish.

The Eiffel tower paper is from a pad I bought in the Works in UK.
So I kept it sort of browns and blacks.
I distressed the edges of the papers and then inked them.
I made a tiny card to go inside the envelope made from book pages.

I stamped afew Happy Birthdays along the edge so that people know it is a Birthday card.
Then I found an Eiffel tower charm in my stash - perfect.

Pop over to the challenge blog to see all the other wonderful DT creations.

Large Paper clips and mini envelopes

decorated and a dangle added

Tuck pockets for journal tags

Envelopes for journal cards

And this is what they look like in the journal
