About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Free Stamps with Magazine

Good Morning All
I will be on my way to the airport when this post goes live, going to visit family.
****
I was lucky to get my hands on the Creative Stamping magazine 57
from Joanna sheen before it sold out.
I thought this would be a great set for all sorts of cards, men included.

I watched Maria and Barbara from Clarity on TV  and they blend the inks with large brushes to make a background.
The nearest thing I had was an old blusher brush.

Not too bad for a first attempt.

I used various Izinkz.

I decided to test nearly all the stamps by making a set of cards to go in a box for the Dog Rescue charity to have for a raffle prize.

I kept all the cards flat, without embellishments, very difficult to do!!!!!!

Then made a box from some sturdy card.

Stamped some more images for the front.

Added some nice ribbon to keep closed.

With a scrap of grosgrain ribbon grass pattern.

Packing today ready to go to Mums tomorrow and see all the family too.
Hopefull Ricky and family are coming up from Corby too.

More bits & bobs

Good Morning All

Afew more scraps today.

I glued the parchment onto the backing card then stuck a pearl over the top to hide it.

Scraps of card in shades of blue.
I have had these punched flowers for ages too.

We had a gorgeous lunch yesterday for my Birthday and Andrew arranged with the restaurant, this lovely homemade 60 cake, made from puff pastry and fresh fruit.

Then the owner of the local bar sent me another little cake with candles on, all so kind.
Had afew to many of these.

A big thank you to these two wonderful friends.

Good Morning All
Allsorts Challenge this week is hosted by Tracy Mouse and the theme is

I did get some extra plates with it and this is one of them, pretty dragonflies and blossoms.
I coloured on the wrong side of the parchment and matted and layered.

This one is the same plate just different colours.

I added a  bow with a butterfly charm.

Prize
Rare Earth set of stamps

My Craft Club Ladies treated me to a lovely lunch yesterday.

Only a short craft club today as we are having lunch for my birthday  which is on Sunday.
Cards have been arriving all week in the post and John has put them all away until the day.
Hopefully I might get brekky in bed  but doubtful as Liverpool are playing Champions league final on Saturday night so he will have either drowned his sorrows or celebrated the win.!!!!

Bits & Bobs

Good Morning All

A couple of cards using some scraps from my box I am still trying to clear !!!!!

If you are like me, you have die cuts in boxes waiting to be used!!!

Butterflies galore just to match up with a scrap of ribbon I had left.

I think the die cut on the bottom of this one is from Johns Sandwich Box die I cut when I borrowed it from Val J.
Seam binding with RikRak over.

Postpals

Good Morning All

I am going to visit Mum and family next week.
Normally I will take alot of cards to post to Post Pals (link in sidebar) that some of my Craft Club ladies have made, but this time I am only on hand luggage so cannot take many.
I usually do this design, as I cut the circles from waste card whenever I am diecutting.
I love this ribbon from Crafty Ribbons, I thought it was perfect for these cards.

I hope they put a little smile on the faces of the kids that recieve them.

Another Groovi Mum

Good Morning All

I love the colours of this card.
I decided a good way of sticking the parchment to the card it to use a frame so I cut this one with Pierced Circles.
Rainbow paper underneath gives it a really pretty effect.

Sketch & Craft Club Gifts

Good Morning All
Wasn,t the wedding lovely. I do love all the pomp and ceremony.
I am not a massive Royalist but I did love Diana and her boys seem to be lovely, grounded young men.
 I admire Harry alot.
They make a beautiful couple.
******
A couple of cards I have made for the sketch this week.
Leafy montage emboss folder.
Topper from a magazine and cut in half diagonally.

Another one, sort of keeping the general layout but using different shapes.

A little offcut from a Groovi make.
Karen asked me what I use to colour my parchment -
I use water colour pens and do it on the reverse of my work.

This is sketch to follow.

************************

Craft Club gifts this week were a lovely box taught to me by one of my ladies, Jen.

I have looked on You Tube and not seen this style, it is abit fiddly but lovely.

They are about 3" square but can be made to any size.

I included a battery Tealight and a couple of stick pins.

Hope you are all having a good weekend.

Happy 9th Birthday for Allsorts

Good Morning All
Today, Allsorts Challenge is 9 years old so the theme is
Happy Birthday.
And boy o' boy do we have some prizes on offer so pop over to challenge blog to see what there is.
Lots of sponsors for this one.

A nice easy theme too so it will be a busy one.

I went with a Parchment card,  which I made a while ago before I got my Groovi system.

This was made using afew different grids.
Mounted onto black card to make it show up more.

I also decorated the inside with bits of leftover card and ribbon.
