About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Iced Snow & Mica Paints

Good Morning All
I have just realised this is my 1002 post, who would have thought it when I first started !!!
****
I am still experimenting with all the goodies I brought back from UK earlier this month.

I stamped the striplet  and heat embossed it so that I could paint it.

I bought some gorgeous Mica Paints, this set is blues and greens but now I want some more vibrant colours too.

I stuck it onto sticky paper and added Iced Snow.
I love this effect.

Mini Striplet

Good Morning All

I love the way this card turned out.

I used the Sue Wilson Mini Striplet die that I won  from her blog earlier this year.
Even though it is 'Snowflake' I have used it for a Birthday card.
I stuck it onto sticky paper and then added black glitter.

Travelling Tiffany

Good Morning All
I was asked to make a card for a girl that was going travelling for a year.
Once  again I decided to make a box card as they are so effective.

The lady loved it and so did I.

MERRY
CHRISTMAS

Add Some Sparkle for Creative Craft Cottage

Good Morning All
Creative Craft Cottage this time is Add Some Sparkle.
I used this sweet image  called Willows Butterfly Friend from Lacy Sunshine.

Coloured her with Promarkers and used S/B Butterfy Circle  die to cut her out.
Papers are from My Minds Eye and I added Sparkles onto some of the butterflies and the flower and wings on the image.  I used Green Liquid pearls and smudged them so I had to add the big turquoise dazzlers to hide the mess !!!!

Anything but Christmas for Allsorts

Good Morning All
Allsorts Challenge is Anything but Christmas and will run for 2 weeks over the Christmas period.

I decided to make a Friend Card.
I used this gorgeous digi from Deedees Designs and printed it onto Centura Pearl card,
used S/B Fleur de Lis to cut it out, S/B Tags for  the sentiment that came with the digi.

The digi came pre-coloured which is so easy and it printed out quite pale on Centura, but still so pretty.

There are afew sponsors for this longer challenge, so pop over and peek.

Have a wonderful creative Christmas
and
New Year.
Lots of Love

AG for Crafty Friends

Good MorningAll
My first post this morning is for Crafty Friends Challenge and it is a nice, easy Anything Goes.
I used this cute digi from the sponsor.

I decided to make my neighbours a 'New Home' card as they have moved off the block into the next village.

I used LOTV 'Pressed In Time' paper pad, matted onto a embossed white card rubbed with Gilding wax.
Coloured the image with Promarkers and die cut with S/B Fleur de Lis square, as is the sentiment.

Other bits from stash, ribbon and gems, pearls and twine.
I have decided to use any left over paper for the inside of my cards then I am not left with loads of scraps.
I stuck this die cut inside to write on.
Whenever I am die cutting and I have space left I fill it with shapes to use for sentiments and keep them in the drawers with the same coloured card, in little baskets, as in pic below.

Our sponsor this time is Toadstool Printables

Nativity

Good Morning All
When I got back from UK the village had put up their Nativity  in the square by the church.

I love walking around this traditional scene.
It is all enclosed behind mesh and this year all the figures look like they have been painted.

I took pictures as I walked round and had to poke the camera lens through the mesh.

I tried to capture all the different scenes.

This is Roman soldiers.

Some of the plants are real too.
        Little tiny  cactus.

People washing their clothes in the stream.

The one below I had to make bigger to show you the detail.
All the animals in the stable next door to the stable where the manger is.
Baby Jesus  born and people on their knees worshipping.

The attention to detail is amazing -
all the food on the table looks yummy.

Women making bread and baking it in the stone oven at the side of the house.

The animals -  a dog sat by the door and the chickens picking about in the grass.

A quick message for Nancy one of my followers.  Meeting on Friday 18th for slim and craft.

Visit

Good Morning All

Here is Hollies Christmas card.

I think Hollie is going to be a little crafter too.
She made afew Christmas cards with me, and stupidly, I forgot to take any pics.
Anyway, lots of new craft goodies to play with so I will be in my craft room for the foreseeable future LOL !!!!!

What a wonderful visit I had with family and John Next Door.
I came home with lots of goodies too, probably too many but that's what crafters do, is it not!!!!

Everyone was full of cold so it was inevitable that I got a dose of it too.
I looked after Noah and Aurora for afew days.

They are two of the happiest children I know, so placid and smiley.

Then on Friday morning before I left we went to Hollies Nursery where she met Santa.

And this is cheeky little monkey on my knee.
She is so funny and such good fun to be with

Then on the Saturday before, I met up with John when he was demoing in the North West and travelled back down to Leicester with him.
We met up with Ang, Mrs Duck and had a good laugh and a good meal.
The next morning I was priviliged to enter Johns craft cave and help him with his demo preperation for his shows on Hochanda Monday and Tuesday.
We still have a good laugh and gossip, catching up on all the folks we both know over here.
I will meet up again with him in January on my next visit.

Good Morning All
Allsorts challenge is hosted by Helene this week and is titled 'Golden Days'.

I chose this image called Mother Moon form the sponsor Day for Daisies.
Coloured her with Promarkers, then lots of orange, gold and yellows to make a really bright card.  Sentiment from Netty again and two of my bead pins which I still have for sale.

To A Special Person at Christmas for MAWTT

Good Morning All
Moving Along With The Times Challenge  this time is
'To A Special Person At Christmas'
hosted by Carole.
I decided to make a Christmas card for  my OH

I made this after watching Phill Martin on Hochanda, but he made it look so easy lining his paper up with the aperture.
The centre is cut with Sue Wilson die - Hollywood from California Collection.
And the 'Just for You' is one of hers too.
The Ivy Corner is Cheery Lynn B315 and the Poinsettias cut from parchment paper with Leanne die.
Paper is LOTV and the top sentiment is from Docrafts.

This is showing the inside.

It is a big card for me, 8 x 8, but as I,m not posting it it didn't matter.
Pop over to the challenge blog to look at all the other DT work.

By the time this goes live I shall be getting ready to leave UK to return to Spain on Friday.
So sad to leave everyone.
I miss the grand children like crazy.

AG for Creative Craft Cottage

Good Morning All
This will be my last challenge as a DT for  CCC.  I have been with them for 9 months and since taking over the running of MAWTT my time is getting more limited.

Creative Craft Cottage Challenge this time is Anything Goes.

I used this sweet image from one of the sponsors, Stitch Back in Time.

I cut it out with a S/B Fleur de Lis Squares die and used the smaller one for the stamped sentiment.
I added Creative Expressions Perfect Peonies die cut flowers in shades of blue.  All the rest is scraps from stash.

Good Morning All
The theme for Allsorts Challenge this week is CAS. Now I dont do CAS very well but took the opportunity to make OH Birthday card, which was back in November.
So very hard not to add some gems or something to jazz it up abit, too plain for me but he liked it.

Sponsor  this week is Scrappers Delight.

Hunkydory - Last 6

Good Morning All
Still in the Northwest visiting family, until Saturday, then hope to grab a lift off John as he is demoing in the area.  He lives about an hour away from Rick and Lorien.

Last six of the sixteen cards I made from just two sheets of Hunkydory toppers.
Some are A5, some A6, some DL and some square 5 x 5.
A mixture of Birthday, Thank You, Thinking of You and Get Well

I have got quite a sense of usefulness and wellbeing from doing these, using scraps from stash and getting out of my comfort zone by using something I,m not used to.

Hopefully, after being with John I shall come back renewed and invigorated and wanting to try new ideas, as I do after watching him,  and all the others from the Creative Expressions team.
Plus I may have bought afew goodies from the CE shop,  but don't tell anyone.

Very pleased with this last one as I literally, used all the scraps, as tiny as they may be, from the other cards, to make the background.
