About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Tidy

Good Evening All

I have had a very busy day.  Firstly I went to a nearby town to see about helping in a charity shop 1 day per week, I will give it a go but not too sure about being on my feet for 4 hours at a time, dont know if my back will stand up to it (excuse the pun).  Then it was our Spanish lesson this afternoon and in between all that I was trying to get my craft room sorted.
The units were delivered yesterday at teatime, so I did manage to get everything put away but today I was sorting drawers out and having a serious tidy out.

I always keep my desk covered when I,m not working there as we have the windows open all the time and get  dust blowing in.

This is moving round from the front window, where I now have my desk so I can nosey out!!!!

Then round to the side where I have had to keep some plastic drawers (I had quite afew sets of these all bought a different times as my stash grew)  I have made a table out of these with a glass top.

And these are my new units with everything at hand.

I have my ribbons on the top (in the red trays) and John Next Door came up with a good idea - As there are pre drilled holes in the sides of the units, he suggested putting a piece of dowelling across and attaching to the sides, so I think I will have a go at that.

Then this is my desk tonight as I have been working, my next design team projects on there ready to get started on tomorrow.

I have thoroughly enjoyed doing all this and it has made me feel alot better.

Now onto a card I made for the Joanna Sheen Challenge.  I was given one of her cd's by a lady that goes to my 'fat club' called 'The Cardmakers Year' and it has some lovely images and papers on it.

I used Joanna Sheen ribbon, one of my bead pins and one of Nettys freebie sentiments here and all matted and layered on shades of brown card onto a pale green card blank.

Hi Wendy
Great card. The dog is so cute.
Does give me a sense of satisfaction having an organised craft room. The floor may be knee deep in "craft confetti" but I know where everything is.
Glad you're on good form now. I volunteer in a local charity shop one day per week and I love it. We have good fun and a bit of banter with the regulars and all for a good cause.
Have a good day.

You are obviously good at tidying - would you like to come and do mine? It would need a short holiday in Ireland, but I have a guest room.

Your room looks wonderful Wendy. So much space to put everything and in between organising, Spanish lessons and volunteering you manage to make a card. I'm really impressed by your stamina.
Love the card today with the very cute little dog.
