About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Bugs for MAWTT

Good Morning All

Moving Along With The Times Challenge is hosted by our Jessie this time and her theme is

Bugs

I went with Dragonflies and used a Groovi plate, one of my favourites.
I mounted it onto Pixie Powder background and matted that onto Pink card.
I mounted the sentiment onto black card (to pick out the black in the Pixie powder), then matted onto same pink card.

Pop over to the challenge blog to see all the great work by my Design Team B

A Mixture

Good Morning All

It is lovely to be home in the sun.
When I was walking Rico this morning I very nearly had to take my coat off and I dont wear one when we go out int the afternoon.  Such a pleasure after the rain every day in the UK.
I dont think it will be long before I shall be washing the jackets and hats ready fr packing away for the summer!!!
*******************
I am trying to clear some of my photo files so here is a mixture.

When You join Clarity's Groovi club you get a mini plate each month and here are a couple of cards using two of those plates.

And here is one I made using a digi, (not sure where from) that was already coloured in my  digi file.
Once again, I used bits from my desk - Circle, corner die cut and added a fish charm with twine.
The ovals are cut with the Clarity Picot dies, a great addition to my stash and not just for parchment as you can see here.

Iris Folding

Good Morning All

Some of my Craft club ladies wanted to try Iris Folding so I set about printing some patterns, cutting apertures in card blanks etc.

Here is my card I made to show them how it can turn out.
Very simple but very effective I think.
I used Pearlised paper for the folding
Just added a sentiment tag and afew of my mini butterflies.

Here are the two crds made by Dawn & Denise at my Club, very good for their first attempt.

And here is my final one, abit more intricate.

Crafty Ribbons welcome Fiskars

Good morning All

Fiskars have joined forces with us for this month and we were sent a punch and some amazing scissors to work with.
These are the scissors.

The scissors are super sharp and fold away, so neat.

For my card I used this wonderful ribbon from Crafty Ribbons shop HERE

I punched the little bees out from orange paper and coloured them with Promarkers (well I added stripes)

Used a decoupage topper I had in my stash and tucked it just under the edge of the Pebble ribbon

I found a sentiment that fitted perfectly that was a freebie in a magazine.

I coloured white seam binding from the shop with the same Promarker to add to the tag.
Although the seam binding is available in many colours, you can always colour it if you want to match an exact shade.
If you do Facebook, pop onto Crafty Ribbons page.

Happy Birthday Val J

Good Morning All

I just wanted to show you this card I made for my friend Val J.
It was her birthday on 14th Feb and  here is the personalised card I made for her.
I used Groovi Circles, I hope she liked it as I know she is not a great fan of Groovi.

This is what I like about Groovi, I am able to personalise with both sentiments and names.
I matted the circles onto brown embossed card with lovely pearl brads.
I added pink seam binding from Crafty Ribbons to add a tiny tag sentiment and pink lace too.

Happy Sunday

Good Morning All

As this goes live we will have arrived in UK as Johns Mum is not too good.
*****************

Here is my card for this week, maybe longer as we are not sure how long we will be away.

USE YOUR SCRAPS
I would like to see your background made from scraps.

This is odd scraps of card left on my desk.

And I even cut some butterflies out of them before I glued them down, from the parts that wont be seen!!!

And a second card, again using nice pieces of card that are not big enough for a whole mat.

***********************

These are the gifts I gave out on Friday,  a tube of Murray Mints in a pretty box.

Decorated with ribbon and a dangle charm.

Any Season for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge this week is hosted by Tracy Mouse.
She would like to see any of the four seasons.
I chose Summer as this sweet Paintbox Poppet topper just shouted out summer days to me.

I cut an Oval with Clarity Picot Oval die then stamped it with a sentiment and  foliage from JND Butterfly Frames stamp set.
Then I found the sweet seashell charm.
All matted onto Wild Roses embossed card and Gilding polish card.

I think most of us went off with our fishing nets, looking for crabs when we went to the beach.

I have two family birthdays today so this card will have been sent off for one of those.

This is the prize on offer this week.
