About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Crochet Doilies

Good Morning All
As I have been doing alot of Shabby Chic Altered items, I thought I would get crocheting again and have been making alot of these.
I do watch out for doilies when I go in the local charity shops but they seem to be very few and far between here.

The beauty of them is that I can make them as big or as little as I like.

It keeps me busy at night while watching TV, as I cannot sit and do nothing.

The one at the bottom, I sprayed with Mica powder in water just to see what it would look like!!!!

You will no doubt see these as they appear on my projects over the coming months.
My hook and cotton will be in my suitcase on Wednesday, keep me busy while in UK.

And here she is - Tess with big sister Hollie

Super pics of your family! I watch very little TV but I am like you, I find watching TV wastes so much time. I have to be doing something else at teh same time - sewing, crochet etc. Lovely doileys. Christine x

Hi Wendy,
oh your doilies are so very lovely.
Fab idea spraying them with mica.
I forgot I was supposed to be showing you my boxes on Friday made with my doilies.

Your photos of your Grand Children are wonderful.
They look so beautiful.
I bet you can't wait to see them, as you can't beat a Nanna's cuddle.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
