About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Knitting

Good Morning All

When I was in the UK looking after Mum I went in the local Sue Ryder Charity shop and there was some wool on sale reasonably cheap so I bought 2 large balls of white and 2 of a lovely mint green.  I enjoy crocheting and knitting so, started crocheting a blanket and knitting squares for Christines 'Blanket of Love' .

Christine has a blog called Hope and Chances HERE and she crochets together squares that people have knitted and sent her for the blanket of love.  If you want to contribute just email her or leave her a comment on her blog and she will get in touch with you.  I get alot of wool given to me by Linda from Animal Aid (a charity that I give my cards to here in Spain) so I thought I would knit some squares.  I left the wool I bought in the UK in my bag I keep at Mums for when I visit there and using the wool Linda gives me to knit while I am at home.

The pattern provided by Christine has a heart in the middle.  When I go back to the UK in May I will take the ones I have knitted with me and post them to her, along with the ones I have knitted there.
(If anyone wants this pattern I can email it to you, just ask in the comment you leave.

Hi Wendy. I read Christines blog everyday and have started a square, it is half done at the moment as I find knitting really hard (had to give up cross stitching because of the same reason :( ) due to the arthritis in my hands, but I will finish it so that it can be added to a blanket of love. It is such a good cause. Glad that you can join in too : )Take care.

Hi Wendy. Good for you for joining in Christines blanket request.
Sadly on top of the other probs with my arm I´ve got carpel tunnel syndrome in my right hand and even card making is becoming more difficult. I´m hoping it will pass soon.
See you later for our craft club.
Love Val x
