About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

To Colour or Not to Colour

Good Morning All
Some of you may have seen this post last week as I published it my mistake a few days ago.

I bought this sweet Groovi Plate to make some Christmas cards.
This is the first play with it, one coloured and one not.
Which do you like best?
I mounted the plain one onto dark green card then Holographic Mirri card.

The coloured one I mounted onto blue snowflake paper then dark blue card.

I'm leaning towards the coloured one I think.

Good Morning All

This is my card for the Sketch this week.
This will run for 2 weeks as I am going back to UK for a quick visit to see Johns Mum and my Mum.

I used a cute LOTV topper cut with CE Pierced Circles.
The paper is a freebie in a Magazine.
Sentiment is heat embossed using one of Johns stamp sets.

And this is the sketch to follow.

Good  Morning All

Allsorts Challenge time again and Kath wants to see Bears, any type but not Bear Ghrylls!!!

I used the lovely set of stamps that came with Creative Stamping Magazine a while ago.
The Koala Bear is so sweet.
The backing card is from when I cleaned my brayer after using Johns Media plates.

Brenda is giving a lovely set of stamps given by Penny Black

I was lucky enough to see a Koala when I was in Sydney in 2007

Men or Boys for Craft Rocket

Good Morning All

Men / Boys
Now I think most of us find these type of cards harder to make, or at least not quite as enjoyable.
I know I do.
I cut a piece of paper from LOTV 'Father Knows Best' pad and cut a slit in the top corner to hold the LOTV topper.
I added some buttons from Crafty Ribbons
A charm with 'Dream written on it, tied with seam binding from Crafty Ribbons

Eclipse Card

Good Morning All

My crafty friend Val J wants to try an Eclipse card and she asked me could we  do them one week at my Craft Club.
Not  a problem, except that I have never done one before.
So I asked Jen could I use her large Alphabet dies.

I used a card from some  I was given by Linda from Animal Aid afew years ago
(sadly I think she now suffers with dementia)
I offset the top letters slightly on the black to make them stand out more.
Quite pleased with how it turned out for a first attempt.

I shall be trying so more so watch this space.

Groovi Men

Good Morning All

Afew weeks ago I borrowed my friends Groovi plates for men, cogs and wheels..

Here is another one but this time I did some snipping within the cogs etc.
I found a lovely piece of paper in a 6x6 pad from The Works.
Very happy with this one.

I think I shall borrow this plate again, a nice flat card too for posting.

Happy Sunday

Good Morning All

Instead of a sketch this week
( 'cos my laptop has decided to fall out with my printer, so I cant print anything)
I gave my ladies some ribbon and buttons  from my Crafty Ribbon DT supply and my own.
I made up little bags with some extra bits in.

I have quite a stash as I won the Crafty Ribbons Challenge twice before I became  a DT member.
So if any of you would like to join in my little challenge, just create  using ribbon and buttons, just like the Moving Along With The Times Challenge  last Thursday.
Here is my little lot.

And here is the card I made, I didn,t use the Wagon ribbon, I added a Happy Birthday one instead.
I had to add afew pearl hearts to hide some splodges of blue ink from when I was inking the edges.

*************
At the Craft Club on Friday.

I have made many of these boxes before but afew of the ladies wanted to be shown how to make them.
This is mine that I made to take to the class to show how they can be decorated.
Here is a link to Christina Griffiths You Tube tutorial.

********************
The gifts I gave my ladies on  Friday.

I added a choccy biscuuit and a couple of gems and a dangler.

I made the boxes, once again, following a tutorial from Pootles on You Tube.
I am running out of gifts that I bought in UK when I was at Ricks in February, so I will have to stock up soon.

On to last weeks sketch.

Things with Wings for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Things with Wings and I have gone for butterflies, surprise surprise!!!!!

I had this negative die cut from the scalloped circle so I added spotty paper behind it.
I embossed a coredinations card with A butterfly EF from Creative Expressions.

I had made this large parchment butterfly with a Groovi plate and coloured it with felt tips.
Added some of my small butterflies.
Not sure where the sentiment came from, been in my stash for ages. I added pearls to the edges of it to match the ones I added to the butterfly.

Brenda is giving two lovely stamps as a prize this week.

And Hazel always gives a nice prize.

I kept this card general so it can be used as a Wedding or Engagement or even, Anniversary.
Paper is from Making Cards magazine.

Gingham and / or buttons for MAWTT

Good Morning All

Moving Along With The Times Challenge time again and Kaz is our host this time and she would love you to use Gingham and / or Buttons on your creations.
Well, I went abit mad with this and made 4 cards!!!!
First I made these two to go in a box of 6 cards to sell or give as a gift.

I bought this pack of gorgeous butterflies from my local China store, so I wanted to use these.
And I had this gorgeous Gingham ribbon from Crafty Ribbons in various colours.
The backing paper is from LOTV 'Antebellum' pad.

Then I went onto make some more.

Clearing out some old stash I found these letters made from a print out using a Crafters Companion CD.

I cut them out then stuck to Mirri card and cut that out.

Added some Organza ribbon with a dummy charm.

All backed onto Gingham paper, which I love for Baby cards.

Finally, an LOTV topper, of which I have loads and love them, with navy Gingham ribbon and a heart button both from Crafty Ribbons

Happy Crafting
