About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

I Heard It On The Radio

Good Morning All
Moving Along With The Times Challenge time again and the theme this week is 'I Heard It On The Radio'.
Theme is a Song you heard and is really catchy!!       (like Walking on Sunshine = Sunny happy card)

The other day I heard a song I had not heard for a long time 'Love is Like A Butterfly' sung by Dolly Parton.
This was the theme song for the TV Sitcom 'Butterflies' with Wendy Craig and Geoffrey Palmer and takes me back to childhood.

I used a music sheet background and Spellbinders Papillon die cuts.  I printed the words from the song to use as the sentiment with a pink ribbon and a pearl.

I decorated the inside using  some peeloffs and card.

I put  sentiment label on the bottom as, by the time this post goes live, I will have had my stall at the craft fayre, and it will go for sale there.  I thought it would be suitable for a 'Wife' as the butterfly sentiment is quite 'lovey'.

Great choice for the challenge chosen by Hazel, the boss lady.  Should be fun.

And we have a prize this week,  Mellow Yellow
  by Donovan.

We went for a really long walk yesterday at Guadamar and here are afew pics of the harbour.

This is where we keep the weekend Yacht!!!!!!

This looks like a heron keeping watch or maybe just waiting for a fish to swim by for his lunch.

This is the gateway to the harbour.  Below is as we walked round the harbour to the end where all the fisherman sit on the rocks and fish.  This is the view back towards the boat harbour.

Good Morning All

Hope all is well in your part of the world.
I have some news for you all today.
We are having a BLOG HOP in 2 weeks time for   Allsorts Challenges Birthday.

************************
Saturday means it is time for the Allsorts Challenge and this week it is my turn to host and I want to see something different, a shaped or fancy fold card please.

Afew photos to follow to try to show the fold and the dimention of the card.

I borrowed a Tattered Lace die from my  friend Lin at the Craft Meet Class on  Thursday.

I kept it all pinks and silvers.

The corners are Cheery Lynn.

This is the inside using paper from Docrafts and a die cut from Marianne in a gorgeous pearly pink card.  A little strip sentiment.

I hope you like it.
I am looking forward to seeing what creations people come up with for this challenge.
I do try to choose a theme that stretches people abit and may give me some ideas along the way too, abit cheeky what!!!!!

Humphrey & Chicks

Good Morning All
I was lucky to have my letter printed on Joanna Sheens News Letter this month and through that a lady who has lost her husband last week to the awful Pancreatic cancer got in touch with Tina and asked to be put in touch with me. (I lost my fiance to this dreadful disease in 2006).  This lady, Carol, lives in Spain also, so I  emailed her  and we have been having  a cyber chat this week.  Anyway, afew emails on and we are going to meet up on Friday afternoon.
Isn't it surprising who you meet through blogs etc, that is how I met my friend Val who comes to the craft meet on Thursdays.

Todays card is another Humphrey.

Such a sweet image with the little chicks.  I kept it simple, with shades of blue card and paper, matted onto  Swiss Dots embossed card.
I put the same image, but smaller, inside the card.

Penny Black & More

Good Morning All

This is my card for the guest DT spot at Penny Black and More, this comes about as being in the Allsorts team we do a guest spot over there too.

I used this gorgeous Penny Black stamp and coloured it with Promarkers.  Homemade sentiments and tags.  Different types of ribbon and bows and a lemon doily.
I have started decorating the inside of my cards, partly to use up smaller pieces of  card and paper, so if I cut a card up for the matting and layering on the front, I have apiece left, I try to use it on the inside, as I have done here.

Photo Inspiration for Hobbycutz

Good Morning All
This week at Hobbycutz Challenge Elaine has chosen the theme and it is a photo  so use this as inspiration for your creations.

I used a sweet image from the sponsor called 'Spring Enchantment' and coloured her with Promarkers.  I found the gorgeous butterfly ribbon in our local China shop in the perfect colours for this challenge, yellow and purple.  Hobbycutz lasercuts on the edges to prop the easel with, I love these lasercuts, there are some beauties on the web site HERE and they can be painted or spritzed or even coloured with your pens to match your colour scheme.

Sponsor this week is The Paper Shelter

Butterflies

Good Morning All
Allsorts Challenge this week is 'Butterflies' so that is a great theme and I,m sure there will be lots of entries.
As you know I adore butterflies on my creations so here goes.
This is the second card I made for this one because we were given some gorgeous new images from Nicecrane and this is one of them and I love it.

I kept it nice and bright to match the butterflies.
Homemade sentiment attached with a button, leaf embellishment from Hobbycutz.  The large white flower I made using the technique on the  tutorial at the top of my blog HERE and that's what the easel props behind.

Die Cut Divas - Use at least 1 embellishment

For this one I used this beautiful kingfisher  image from one of the sponsors 'Nicecrane'.  I have only ever seen one once in my life and it was a gorgeous summers day walking by the river.  So when I saw this image it reminded me of summer and therefore, butterflies.  I used oranges, yellows and pinks.  All the butterflies are cut with Marianne dies and the backing paper was free in a magazine.

I used another Marianne die to cut this for the inside and put another butterfly in there too.

Sponsors this week are ---Nicecrane and Digistamp Boutique

Favourite Embellishment

Good Morning All

My second post this morning is for Ladybug Crafts Challenge and this month Samantha has chosen a great theme of
Fave Embellishment.

Wow, so easy for me 'cos that has got to be Flowers -Handmade, punched, bought, die-cut - whatever, any shape or form, I love flowers.

All the flowers I used on this one are bought.
In fact I  have used most of my fave embellishments on this card - ribbon, bead pin, crochet flower, charm (says 'Friend')

The picture is recycled from some bits and bobs given to me by Linda (Animal Aid).  I have used them before on my cards and I love the 'Vintage' look of them.
The paper is 'Spring Chic' Me to You, mounted on peachy coloured card.
Pop over to the Challenge blog and have a go with this nice easy one.

Pretty Pastels

Good Morning All
Moving Along With The Times this time is Pretty Pastels chosen by Kelly.
This is up to your interpretation really, so long as it is pastel colours.

I chose to do an unusual fold card, as the next two pics show, I hope.

Cheery Lynn roses die cuts for flowers, punched butterflies.
Just under the first flap is a butterfly peeloff negative stuck onto white card.
Pastel coloured peel offs for corners and down sides with large gems at other corners.

A Nellie Snellen Scalloped square die cut for  inside.
I hope you like this card, a little bit different I think and I enjoyed making it too.
I shall be back later with my Ladybug Crafts DT card.
