About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Lots of Pinks

Good Evening All
I made this card for a couple of challenges.  Dont you just love those feathers?  I was given them by Linda (Animal Aid) afew days ago, along with more paper and other bits for crafting.  The image is a decoupaged Duflex hedgehogs (cute) but it doesn,t show very well on the pic.
I used old paper matted onto pink card, gems, homemade pearl pin, Marianne butterfly dies, satin ribbon wrapped around strips of paper and card, Cheery Lynn corner die, X Cut corner punch, Spellbinder Hexagon die and homemade crochet flower.

Close up of flower, I stuck a butterfly witha gem on the middle of it.

Organza Flower and bling

Good Morning All
My card this morning is a Tilda image coloured with my Promarkers.
The large flower is made from organza and I learnt how to do this from Christina at Card Making Magic and this link goes straight to the video tutorial where she shows how to make different styles of these flowers using a heat gun, it is so easy.
The rest of the card is a stamped sentiment, gems, paper flowers, a homemade bead decoration and a swirl from Zva Creative (I won) and a tiny butterfly die cut with gems in the middle, all mounted onto embossed white card and matted onto red card to match the flower colour.

PS:  I think I feel some candy coming on, maybe for Valentines day.  I was thinking this morning, how blogging has changed and filled my life.  When I started, I thought I would never get used to it - entering challenges etc, but now it is  a major part of my day.  And I have made som many wonderful friends.  I think the candy will be flowers and gems, I will get it together and post it on here next week.
My eldest is arriving on Thursday with his partner so we will be busy going out but I will still find time to visit and all my DT post are scheduled, fingers crossed.

Anything Goes with a Sentiment

Good Morning All
Monday means Love to Create Challenge time again and the theme is and nice easy one 'Anything Goes with a Sentiment' so there is no excuse not to have a go.  Sponsor is ------------
Stamp Fairy.

My card is a twisted easel  and I have used the Stamp Fairy image 'Barry Love'.  Coloured him with Promarkers and Spectrum Noirs and mounted him onto maroon, pink and red card.  Scalloped circle with inked edges and a peeloff.  The flowers are Spellbinders 'Bitty Blossoms' and 'Blossoms' except for the tiny maroon ones which were bought on ebay.  The base card is some I won in candy.  I have not added any other sentiment so that it could be used as a Valentines card.
I made a  envelope box using my new Enveloper board I won and put one of my crochet flowers on it with a brad.

Have Fun

Getting Straight

Good Afternoon All
The decorator has finished and we piled everything back into my craftroom last night so that we could get the living room back to normal. So I have to get it all sorted out today.  We have just got back from the market and had lunch so I am now going to get stuck in.

This is what it was like before painting, a horrible mustard colour

It used to be an outside balcony but when we bought the house, this one and the one off the bedroom had both been glassed in, making an extra room.
And here it is now, curtains up, a mix of burgundy and cream, with lace fronts.  We have to have these up to keep the sun out, it gets sooooo hot in summer.  This room gets the sun from morning until late afternoon.
It looks so much brighter in here now.  I cant wait to get it all sorted and everything put away.

I might see you later with a card if I get straight.

Masculine

Good Morning All
My third week for Allsorts Challenge and the theme is 'Masculine' which is one that alot of us dont find too easy or, maybe, dont want to find too easy!!!   I much prefer doing pretty and cute but here goes.
I chose 'Ship 1' from Digi Darla who are one of the sponsors this week, the other one is
The Craft Barn.

I made a twisted easel on a 5 x5 base square card, mounted the image on scalloped circle die and I did not colour it as I wanted to keep it monochrome.  Added buttons in each corner, a silver charm with string through which I wanted to look like rope.  Stamped a sentiment onto a scalloped oval and added a peeloff and there you go.
Have fun.

Negative Square

Good Evening All
We have had to clear my craft room out today as the decorator is coming tomorrow to start painting.  The living room looks overcrowded now 'cos we have had to pile everything in here, but hopefully it is only for a couple of days and then I can have a really good sort out and get some brackets put up for storage.  I bought some storage stuff ages ago in Ikea but never put it up because I knew I wanted it decorated and thought I should wait until it was done.  I love organising things and cant wait for it to be done now.
As you  know, I like to use bits and recycle so here is a card using aew negatives from diecuts.  A lady asked me to make a card for her Grand daughters birth and this was one I came up with.
Using three negatives from  scalloped squares, afew buttons, gems, a foot charm and ribbon.  I printed the sentiment 'A Precious Grand Daughter for Proud Grand Parents.

Shabby Pink

Good Morning All
Todays card is out of my comfort zone.  I dont really do distressed and shabby but John Next Door does some beautiful creations using his distress inks and sandpaper etc.  He gave me a card blank on Sunday and said 'see what you come up with using this' so here it is.  He had done the stitching round the edges and roughed the edges up.
It is not too shabby but I cant help but want everything symetrical.  I even diecut the flowers and scrunched them up then inked them over, totally alien for me but I may get used to it!!!!  You cant see it too well on the pic but the trellis diecut has been cut from Core-dinations card and distressed too.

Three Fave Colours

Good Morning All
Time for Love to Create challenge and this is a nice easy one - use Your Three Favourite Colours on your creations.  The sponsors this week are Di's Digis who will give a winner $10 gift certificate and Stamp Art Designs by Kathryn who has supplied some images for us to play with.  I chose 'Inspirational Cross 3' which I thought would make a lovely Sympathy card as my fave colours are lilacs and blues.
I used Spellbinders scalloped circle, Tim Holtz die (borrowed off John Next Door) for large flower and inked on petals, quilled flower, small lilac flowers dont know where they came from they have been in stash for years.  I coloured image with Promarkers and Spectrum Noirs.  I have not used any sentiment as  there are words written on the image -
'Thy word have I hid in mine heart - Psalms 119.11'
I hope you like it and will join in with the challenge so that we can do lots of hopping around you blogs.
PS.  Dont forget that it is Love to Creates Birthday on 4th Feb so that challenge will have loads and loads of prizes.

Flower Power

Good Morning All
This is my second week as DT member for Allsorts Challenge and I,m loving it.  It is Traceys turn to set the theme for this week and it  is 'Flower Power' which is a brill one for me as, if you are a follower of mine, you will know I love, love, love making flowers.
The sponsors this week are Ribbon Girl and My Heart Pieces.
I have never made this design of card before but I saw it on Cardmaking Magic.  You make an aperture in a piece of card then pleat a piece of patterned paper and make into a flower and glue behind the aperture.  The next pic shows a side view.
You can just see inside where the pleats are but I put this pic on to show the card stand I attached to the back of the card, once again, Christina at Cardmaking Magic shows you how to do these.
I blinged this up as much as possible - Spellbinder Bitty Blossoms in different shades of creams and beige and browns, some with pearls in the middle, ribbons, a homemade pin, leaves and swirls.  The base card is covered with 'Hot Off The Press' paper and tag (freebie with a mag last year)
I hope you all join us with this challenge and have fun.
