Quilled Lady

Good Morning All

This is the finished picture I made at my Quilling Class.

Very pleased with it and now need to try and frame it.

It is done with two different shades of orange.

You stick all the shapes onto a piece of acetate then cut the silhouette  of her head and shoulders.

This is two that the lady who runs the class has made.

I think we are going to make the Ballerina in 2 weeks than we have finished.

Happy Birthday

Good Morning All

It is Tess's Birthday next Sunday.
I had to swap this Sundays post over to next week due to the death of Martyn, the bar owner where we craft.

This is the card I made for Tess using John Next Door Little Sam die, which I borrowed from my Crafty friend Val J.

I used a Mason Jar die and had the jelly babies falling out of it.

I added a cute mouse charm with the ribbon.












And here is the little cutie.
She puts a pink hat on which I gave her, when she rides her toy pony, so sweet.

Pulling faces for a selfie with me before I had even got dressed!!!

I coloured it with some cheap water pens, looks OK I think.

Easter for MAWTT

Good Morning All

The Challenge for MAWTT is  Easter.
As some of you know, I have been going to a Quilling class with my crafty friend Val J.
I saw an image of a quilled chick on Pinterest and thought it was very cute.
When I made this card I had just got back from Uk and had bought some of JND goodies from The Ducks Doodahs
One of  the goodies I bought  was Johns Ribbon Threader die, I used afew of them on this one.

Some very sad news.
The bar I hold my craft club in is run by two English guys, a couple.
I may gave mentioned  that one if them was involved in a serious car crash a couple of weeks ago and has since been in a coma.
He died yesterday without ever coming round.
So sorry for his partner.
A very sad situation as the business has to go on.

Cot Blanket

Good Morning All

I finished crocheting the squares for this blanket while I was in UK.

I sewed it all together once I got home and crochet round the edge.

It's quite large - 39 x 52"

Very pleased with it.

Trying to sell it now as I don't have any babies arriving  in the family (I hope)
One f my Craft Club ladies suggested donating it to the rescue centre and asking them to raffle it or auction it at their next fund raising event.
Good idea.

Recycled Friends cards

Good Morning All

I,m sure you are all the same, whenever I receive a handmade card, I cannot throw it out.

Obviously I cant keep them all, so I recycle them and they go in the charity box.

Here are two.

The flower art on this one is from Sandra, Cotswold Crafter.

She very kindly posted a couple of craft magazines to me. and she enclosed a little card too.

I used it as a topper for this pretty Birthday card.

The second one was from Jen, one of my ladies at my Craft Club, she gave me this Thank You card after Christmas.

I added some butterflies and altered the centre. 
She had used one of my ribbon flowers on it.

Thank you ladies and I hope you don't mind me recycling your cards.

We had a lovely day yesterday.

After opening my Mothers Day cards, I took Rico for his walk, so warm at 9am.

We both took him out later as we were going out for lunch with some friends, normally I would not take him out twice in the morning.

He is really good when we leave him, he will have to be as my John goes to UK tomorrow for a footy match on Saturday, so Rico will have to be left while I go to my quilling and Craft Club.

Happy Mothers Day

Good Morning All

Happy Mothers Day to Mums in UK.

I  showed you the card I made for my Mum on Saturdays Crafty Friends DT post.

 I made this card for the sketch below.
I used JND Ribbon Threader Die.

I made the background using JND Gerbera stamp, just mixed up some Izinkz pigment inks.

The sentiment is from the stamp set too.

I stamped the sentiment onto S/B butterfly Circles.
Added one of the gerbera flowers in the bottom corner and one of my dangle pins with ribbon n the to corner.

Also, Happy Birthday to one of my Craft Club ladies, Jen.

Wishing you a fab day.

Also, my BIL Barry's Birthday today, Happy Birthday Barry.

Special Lady for Crafty Friends

Good Morning All

Crafty Friends Challenge is For A Special Lady

so I made my Mothers Day card for my Mum.

I embossed Centura Pearl card with CE Butterfly Dreams  folder.

Coloured the image, called Fancy Sunbonnet, with Promarkers and cut out with CE Sue Wilson Maggie die.

Added organza ribbon with one of my dangle Stick Pins and a Pearl Gem. (Available for sale)

JND Ribbon Threader

Good Morning All
 I love this card, it is so pretty.

I got  this pretty pink ribbon  from Crafty Ribbons when I won their challenge last month

It is very soft and has tiny cubes on, so gorgeous.
I bought some pearl beads from my local China store and the holes in them were too large to use for Stick Pins but I kept them anyway.
Then when I bought John's new ribbon die I knew I could use them.
I threaded them  as shown and they make the ribbon look like little bows.
I added one of my dangle charms to the bow in the corner.

So happy with this card.
I was discussing this die and this design  with John last week
And Yes John, I have posted early as I have made another one, similar but different!!!! for my DT

Can you believe that this little one, Aurora, was 3 yesterday.
Wow where have those 3 years gone.
I forgot to photograph here card before I posted it.













Rico has settled in nicely and seems very happy.
Loves his bed I made for him.

Paper Bags

Good Morning All

I made some more quick paper bags for my friend to put in her shop filled with goodies.

I love making these.

They are made from a 12x12" sheet.

There are 10 altogether, using various papers and a great way of using bows and flowers I have made.

I hope Lynn likes them and sells them all.

We met up with friends last night, Lolas mum & Dad.
Look how much she has grown and still only 12 weeks old, she is gonna be a whoppa.
John took this one, abit blurry!!!

Rico arrives this morning, cant wait.
I hope he settles OK but the weather is horrible and wet.

A Gift Bag

Good Morning All

One of my ladies at my Craft Club, Jen, made this cute little bag  for me afew weeks ago.

She gave one to all the ladies while I was away a couple of weeks ago too.

I held it on this pic so that you can see how tiny and cute it is.

Here is the dog we hope to adopt.
They named him Dorito, which is not a name we like or are going to keep.
We have decided on Rico, very similar sounding and he doesn't respond to a name yet anyway.

He is coming to us tomorrow and the lady from the kennels does a house check too.

Then we keep him for a week or so.
Hopefully he will settle and he likes us and we like him.


When we took him for a walk on Tuesday, he was not responsive to his name and did not look you in the eye.

We think he has been unloved in his short life.

He is about 1 year to 18 months old.
We have been out and got food, dishes, lead, harness and treats and toys.

I have already made 3 beds from an unused double quilt, so we hope he will be nice and comfy.

First ATC's

Good Morning All

I have heard of ATC's before but never really got into them.

The swap group I am in on Facebook set Valentine ATC's as a swap theme.

So I thought I would have a go.

All parcelled up, I added a bow and a dangle charm.

We are going to walk a dog this morning, one we hope to adopt, will post pics tomorrow.
He is a beagle cross and so cute.
The kennels tell us he is a very good natured dog, so we walk him first then he comes to us for 1 week to see if he settles and we suit him too.  Then the adoption papers are sorted.
A very good way of doing it we think.

What a Face

Good Morning All

When I was in Uk last week, I took my knitting with me. 

I knitted Tess one of the cross over scarves in a pretty pink and white.

Trouble was, I dont think she was too impressed.!!!!!!
