About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Johns leftover

Good Morning All

Thank you for all your good wishes.
I am feeling much better and just get snuffly during the night now.
********
When I was visiting   John (JND ) I helped him unload the car after demoing and doing workshops.
He lives on the second floor so much help was appreciated!!!
We had a good sort out, emptying boxes and crates and he generously passes some bits my way!!

Well this frame was one, I think it is one of his Gerbera Frame Dies
I added some paper from Joanna Sheen
CE Happy Birthday Sentiment die cut
Parchment butterfly and dragonfly
Lots of Pearls

**************
Also, when I was back there, my son Ricky took to to the Dudley Living Museum.
What a fab day out and the bonus was they were filming Peaky Blinders and we were able to watch them film a scene. Very far away though but very interesting.

A great day out if anyone goes.
Rick went in the summer with Lorien and the kids.
He explained to me that some of the building have been relocated here from other parts of the country, brick by brick.
There are shops, a fair ground, a blacksmiths, a chain makers, a chippy where the food is cooked in good old fashioned dripping (the fish and chips were yummy) etc. etc.

This is the bakery and the sweet chop both selling yummy goods.

Rick captured this pick of Tommy and Arthur Shelby

*********************
I was so glad to get this fella back last week.
We could not collect him on the Monday after I got home  as planned as the roads were flooded and we couldn't get through to San Miguel, so we got him back on Tuesday morning and he soon made himself at home again, just like he had never been away.

Recovering from a cold

Good Morning All
I'm sorry I have been short on posts but since I came back from UK I have been full of cold so I haven't been crafting much in my room, rather sitting  cuddled up on the chair with a book or my tablet.
******
I have a Bitty Box on my desk, which I,m sure all do too.
And yesterday I was determined to empty it.

This is the box full of Parchment work, die cuts, ribbon, gems etc. etc.
Whenever I am die cutting I try to fill the sheet or I will  cut a centre from a mat for a card (gut it, I think is the term)

Well here is one card I made with some of it.
LOTV paper and Parchment flowers which I punch out from smaller pieces of leftover parchment paper and add a gem.

Well the box is now empty, if I did not use it I either put away in the correct place or threw in the bin!!!!
This did hurt bit but I have got to be strong!!!!

Inspired by a Song for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge this week is
Inspired by a Song chosen by Helene.

I chose

O Christmas tree, o Christmas tree
How lovely are thy branches

The branches on my Christmas  tree are pieces of ribbon.

I made this Christmas tree ornament from a Polystyrene  shape, about 6" tall.
I really enjoyed making this and it would make a nice centre piece for the table.
Not that we have a Christmas dinner!!!!!!
We have not had a traditional  Christmas dinner since the first year we moved here, 8 years ago, we went to our local Indian last yer and we re doing the same again, I think.
They dont do  special menu so just the same price as usual, not getting ripped off just because it is Christmas day!!!!

We have a lovely prize this week, a Christmas crafting kit.

Cats for MAWTT

Good Morning All

Moving Along With The Times Challenge is hosted by our Ang, Mrs Duck, this week.
Now I think she chose this theme as she had got two kittens, really cute.
Now I dont really do Cats as I am more a doggy person.
But I had this decoupage for years.
Wrapped some twine around some embossed card and tied a heart charm to it.

Then I found this cute topper in the papers from Making Cards Mag and thought it was cute too.
I added a Love charm to a tag from the papers too.

This will be a good theme I think and quite a busy one.

Sad Sunday

Good Morning All

Sad Sunday for me as I leave my gorgeous Grandaughters and head home to Spain.
It will be nice to get home but so sad to leave the girls and family.

********
These are two pretty cards using Groovi again and this is how I use all my small pieces of parchment left over, either butterflies, dragonflies or flowers.

I also had a lovely day at Roz McLellans house for a Groovi meeting  and she was also kind enough to take me to Coleman's Warehouse to buy some supplies.
She also made us the tastiest ice cream I have ever tasted.
Thank you to  Roz and the lovely ladies I met there.
*********
I just want to add on here, but I,m sure most of you know.
My deepest sympathy goes to Christina Griffiths from flowers, ribbons and pearls blog.
She is a lovely lady, so talented and kind.
She lost her hubby on Monday, very suddenly.
Thinking of you and your family.

Add Pearls or Gems for Crafty Friends

Good Morning All

Add Pearls or Gems.
I chose Di's digi  -   'Lady with Pearl Hair'  to fit with the theme..
I mounted it onto embossed Centura  pearl card.
I added different colours of pearls to her hair after colouring with Promarkers.
The gorgeous die cut doily was gifted to me in a swap.
Grosgrain ribbon from Crafty Ribbons.

JND Poinsettias

Good Morning All

By the time this post goes out I should be well settled at Rick and Loriens.
Having seen John and Mrs Duck on Monday for lunch and a good catch up.

So it is apt that this card used Johns Poinsettia dies. and I think this is one of Johns Sentiments too.
I love these dies, they cut so well, and I do have afew Poinsettia dies LOL.

More shopping today, well it is silly to have a suitcase paid for and take home part empty!!!!!

Hello from Leicester

Good Morning All
When this goes Live I should be at John Next Doors after meeting him in Preston at a demo and travelling back to his in Leicester.
We had a good catch up last night and this morning I am helping him prep for a workshop tomorrow.
Then we are meeting Mrs Duck for lunch before I get the train to my younger sons in Corby.

********
I am pulling some older cards from my files while I am away from home.
So here are a couple using the same Groovi plate.

This was before I added the butterfly and stick pin.
I did not quite get the inner square in the centre but I wanted to match the pattern up on each layer of parchment.

Same plate but a different shape and grid work.
The backing paper is some I made using my crafty friend, Jen's Distress Oxides, as I don't have any and I think Jen has nearly every colour!!!!

These are fairly quick cards to make with the Groovi system and I am still enjoying it so that is the main thing.
It also means I can make some beautiful cards my charity box.

Happy Sunday

Good Morning All

The sketch this week will run for nearly three weeks as I am going to UK on Thursday to visit family and John Next Door.
I will miss Craft Club for 3 weeks as the bar is closed the week I get back and I'm away for 2 Fridays.
*********************
This is the sketch to follow

I made the background under the parchment by inking through a leaf stencil.
I embossed the dark green card with a wood grain EB

A pretty two layered parchment butterfly

Gifts for my Craft Club ladies are small notebooks

These are the last of the goodies I brought back from the UK last time I was at Ricks, so my trip is coming at the right time for me to stock up again.
I'd buy stuff here but I can find more  bargains in UK!!!!

The ladies and the bar staff loved these so need to get more on my visit!!!

Mums Birthday

Good Morning All

It is my Mum's 94th Birthday tomorrow and this is the card I made for her.
I used a 7x7 scalloped card base, I keep these for special cards!!
Coloured parchment on top of a homemade background.

Then I used afew different plates to make the main part of the card and added snipped flowers on top to add abit of depth.

I made a fancy snipped border on the coloured parchment.

******

I have had an email supposedly from DHL asking me to click on the link and check my address as they have tried to deliver a parcel but the address is incomplete.
So far as I know I have not ordered anything via DHL, do you think it is a scam.
I,m too scared to click on the link incase it  invades my laptop with a virus.
