About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Christmas Tags

 Good Morning All

I made some Christmas Tags a while ago to adorn the gift bags I give out to all my Craft Group ladies. Some of them have a little side pockets where I can add a tiny envelope with a voucher in.

This is a great way of using smaller leftover pieces of paper too.

On these three I added bows made with sparkly wool and added a wooden Christmas tree button.

I have a video on making these here.

Make your own Flowers for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Helene is hosting Allsorts Challenge and her theme is
Make Your Own Flowers.
I have made two creations for this one.
I started a one stroke painting class at my local craft shop back in October.
This was made in the 1st class as the teacher always like to have  us make something to take home.
I have always admired this style of painting so when the craft shop announced the classes I signed up straight away.
The teacher was taught by Donna Dewbury in USA and she makes it look very easy, haha.

This is one of my first practice sheets

So I was quite happy with how this turned out.
************
My second one is some more tags.
I cut some Poinsettias from coloured parchment and then just added bits from my Christmas box.
I used some lovely fluffy thick wool for ties.

Prize from  Buddly Crafts .
Image result for hot off the press layering daisies

I am entering Jo's monthly challenge of

Happy Halloween

Good Morning All

Happy Halloween to you all.

I don't do Halloween but here in Spain it is a big thing and it is a red day (Bank Holiday) tomorrow for the Day of the Dead (All Saints Day)
This is when all the family go to the cemetery and have a picnic there so everyone is off work and therefore we I dont have a Craft Club tomorrow as the shop is shut.

I thought I would show you afew more Christmas tags I have made to add to my gifts.

This is also a great way of using very small pieces of card and paper and any other scraps.
Some of the bits on these I have in my Christmas box since we moved to Spain 9 years ago.

See you Saturday

Christmas tags

Good Morning All

At my Craft Club on Friday I took a tray of Christmas bits with me and set about making my tags for gifts.

It is a great way of using scraps of Ribbon and lace etc.
I had already stamped some sentiments from John (JND)

My scrunched up Poinsettia, there is a tutorial on top of my blog.
And lots of pieces of ribbon from Crafty Ribbons, link in sidebar.

I made 10 so I need afew more yet.

Tags for Christmas Gifts

Good Morning All

I have booked to do a stall for a Christmas fayre and so I want to get abit of stock together.
I have been making tags for Christmas gifts, to sell in packs of 8.
I must admit, I dont really enjoy doing them, the stall I mean, but my crafty friend Val J has said she will help me even though she only gets back into Spain the night before, she is a gem.

These are a pocket tag, so a tag within a tag.

A great way of using scraps too.

When I did a fayre afew years ago at Bar Catorce, tags sold quite well.

I can always use them as card toppers if they dont sell and I will use some myself to add to little gifts I buy for the family.
I always buy them low cost 'fun' gifts to leave under the tree.

Off to Craft Club today, look forward to this day and seeing all my ladies, although there are quite afew off today so it will be a small meeting.

I have been busy making lots of flowers.
Would anyone be interested in buying any?
All these for 6 quid

or

Anything I sell goes towards postage for Postpals.
When I was in UK I posted over 25 cards that the ladies at my craft club made and I paid for all the postage.

More Christmas Tags

Good Morning All
Here are afew more Christmas tags.

I saw this idea of making a Christmas tree from twigs and covered in white glitter to represent snow.

And these below are recycled Christmas cards.
Quilled flowers I have made.

A lady gave me a bag full of ribbon at my slimming club - Pieces  from the shoulders of sweaters etc. So I used alot of these bits.

Two more days then I shall be on my way home.
I have had lots of cuddles and fun times with Hollie and Tess.
××××××
I brought a pack of my homemade pins (18) with me to uk to give to a lady at ally pally but she was not able to make it.
I dont want to take them home so  first one to txt me their postal address to me on
07756 178 834
I shall post to you before I leave on Saturday.
Now sent, thank you. Xxx

Christmas Tags

Good Morning All
Before I came to UK I was busy making afew Christmas tags to add to my gifts and, maybe sell afew.

I wanted a Vintage feel to them and saw some Gingerbread ones along with a recipe, in a miniature envelope.

One of the ladies at my craft meet had this cute Gingerbread man stamp, so I stamped afew and cut them out, then inked around edges.

I typed a recipe out and printed off onto a vintage looking paper.

Very pleased how these turned out.
Als a great way of using scraps up too, bits of ribbon, lace, gems, flowers etc.

I have since made a lot more but in a different style which I shall show another time.

Christmas Tags

Good Morning All

These are the tags I mentioned the day before yesterday.

All these are on black card measuring 10 x 5cm and I have shaped the corners.  On a couple of them,  I die cut some bauble shapes and glued them together to give a 3D effect.

Some have quilled flowers on, leaves, lace, ribbon.

Cheery Lynn Rose die cut on this one
                                                                                      with a Marianne Aster diecut.

I looked on Pinterest and saw some gorgeous shabby vintage ones, but no matter how I try, it does not come easily to me.

Anyway, I will be making a variety of these and packing them in 6's to sell at the fair, and to use some myself of course.
