About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Christmas for Allsorts

Good Morning All
Allsorts Challenge this week is Christmas and is hosted by Susan.
I chose this cute image from our Sponsor, Scrappers Delight.
Once I had coloured him with Promarkers and his scarf is shades of brown, I thought I would go with non-traditional colours for a Christmas card.
I  had a pad of papers that were free with a magazine I think.  So it is all shades of yellow and peach. The 'with love' is a homemade sentiment tag cut from one of OH beer cartons and this is the last of the  seam binding that John Next Door gave me when I was over there last year and I  love it. It was on an earlier post I got to thinking about when it was when he left to back to UK and it must have been 2014 as I went over in December to stay with Hollies Mum and Dad, and he was settled by then at Creative Expressions, as I went to a demo day  there, so I think it must have been that summer.
Anyway back to the challenge, I hope you will pop over to the challenge blog and see all the other DT creations, they are gorgeous.

Leaves and/or Trees for MAWTT

Good Morning All

Moving Along With The Times Challenge this week is hosted by Sue B and she has chosen Leaves and / or Trees.

The paper and sentiment are from Do crafts paper pack.  All the dies used are from my craft friend Val, Memory box flowers, leaf die and butterfly, not sure whose they are.  I cut  an aperture  using a Jus Cutz die and put some paper behind it.  Decorated up with Dufex butterflies, roses, pearls and glitter.

Remembering

Good Morning All

Today is  a sad day of remembrance for me, Lucas died 5 years ago to the day, I still relive that horrible phone call from my Son, the pain never goes away, I,m even filling up as I type this, just thinking of that poor boy.
I tell myself he is in a better place.
This is one of the last photos of him, taken at my sisters house and I still have that jumper he is wearing upstairs in my Memory Box.

Poinsettias

Good Morning All

When I got my Christmas box out, ready to start my Christmas cards last month, I found these digis that I had already coloured.  I have tried to find out by looking in my files, whose they are but I can't, sorry.

As I have said previously, I have not bought any new stuff to  make Christmas cards with this year.

The circle sentiments are freebies from Netty HERE

When John next Door moved back to UK (Crikey was it last year or year before?) he gave me some paper pads that he didn't want.  He had tons and tons of papers and card!!!!  I have some more to show you another day, more Christmas ones.

Anyway, these papers are from one of the pads, it matched the Poinsettias perfectly.

All I had to do was add a bit of ribbon and embellishments and voila!!!

One lot of about 50 cards has gone to one charity this week and will get in touch with Linda to see when she wants hers for Animal Aid.

Orange, Purple and Black for Allsorts

Good Morning All

I notice that I have gained afew more followers, I am so grateful that you wish to browse my makings, I love having you join me and hope you enjoy your visits.
Maybe I should have a Candy Giveaway soon to celebrate as I will soon be coming up to 1000 posts.
Who would have thought that afew years ago !!!!!

****************

This weeks challenge at Allsorts is hosted by our team leader, Brenda, and she wants to see
Orange, Purple and Black, which I take as Halloween colours but I really dont do Halloween so I made a birthday card in the colours.  I,m quite pleased with how this turned out.

I pondered over what to do, I must admit.
I used a paper from Kate Knight paper pad as my starter point, then kept it very plain, just added 2 types of orange ribbon, a bead pin and a stamped sentiment on orange and black tag.
I spotted all the flowers with black and diamond gems.
All mounted onto orange and black card.

Hope you like it.

Fave Colour for Crafty Friends

Good Morning All

Crafty Friends Challenge this time is to use your 'Fave Colour', so that's quite easy, but I do have so many. LOL

I used this lovely digi from our sponsor and coloured with Promarkers.

I used Pinks and Purples and Lilacs.  I made a  side stepper card in black and used some scalloped squares that have been in my stash since before I moved to Spain, I got them from a lady I used to work with.  The black flower is Memory Box from my friend Val, as is the black leaf die cut.  Bead pin, ribbon and gems from stash.

Bead Pins are still for sale if anyone is interested.
18 pins for 5 quid inc P&P.

Anything Goes for Creative Craft Cottage

Good Morning All
Well it looks like our weather has finally changed. I believe we had a massive thunder storm in the early hours of Monday morning(I didn't hear it though).  Then last evening we had lots of rain.
*******

This time, at Creative Craft Cottage Challenge, the theme is Anything Goes, so it will be a busy one.

I used a template for this stepper card from the sponsor, The Cutting Cafe.
I used all bits from my stash, all the dies cuts, flowers sentiments and laser cuts have been in my stash for a long time.
I am on a mission to get my craft room tidy, so trying to use stuff as I uncover it !!!!!
Why not pop over to the challenge blog to see what all the other DT have been upto.

Book Folding 2 Liner

Good Morning All

Back to book folding for this post.

I was asked to make this 2 liner by a lady that I used to see at Spanish classes.  Her niece was getting married and she wanted to give this to her as an unusual gift.

This features flowers, hearts, ribbon and gems.

I was very pleased with it and she was too.

I left the title of the book showing as I thought it was very apt for a wedding.
It is Honor Thyself by Danielle Steele.
I love reading her books.

I do go from one extreme to the other, this is my light reading, love and romance then I go to James Patterson, Val McDermid, Karin Slaughter, Michael Connolly to name afew.

I have been asked for a link to the Etsy shop I used for a custom made pattern.
It is Patterns for Pages.  HERE

All Sentimental at Allsorts

Good Morning All
Back home from a wonderful few days in Valencia.  What a gorgeous historic, old city but still very vibrant and busy.  We had one day of rain but the rest were beautiful blue skies, lots of walking and sight seeing.
*****
This week Allsorts Challenge is being hosted by Helene and she would like to see the sentiment as the focal point on your creation.
I used a stamp form Daisy and Dandelion for the sentiment and mounted this on Spellbinders Mega Classic Ovals die.

I die cut Marianne LR0206 for the Ivy and LR0200 for the trellis behind the sentiment,  which is a corner die.
Cream flowers from Ebay and satin ribbon and a homemade bead pin
all mounted onto Centura pearl card embossed with a Sheena Douglas 'Taste of India' folder called Mandala, which I think looks like snowflakes.

Sponsors this week are Day for Daisies

Halloween for MAWTT

Good Morning All
Moving Along With The Times Challenge this fortnight is hosted by Amy.
I think Halloween is more an American thing and Amy is from USA.
Now I dont really do Halloween, but I had this cute image from Deedee's Digis.

So the Bat is abit cute and I thought the sentiment was 'fun' too, so I made it into a Birthday card.
Pop over to the challenge blog and have a go with this one, the more the merrier.

GDT at Unstampabelles Challenge

Good morning All
I was lucky to be chosen as random winner over at Unstampabelles Challenge and Susan asked me to be a guest designer for October and the theme is Gold.

It is all done on Centura Pearl card.

I did a little bit of stitching on the centre panel as I wanted to do some pricking.  Just to make it stand out a little I thought stitching with gold embroidery thread would do just that.

The side panels are Sue Wilson Cygnus die from the Gemini Collection.

The gold braid at the top was given to me by Linda (Animal Aid Charity).

I received a gorgeous bundle of lace from Susan for my prize for winning the challenge with this card HERE

Have a good day. I,m on my way to Valencia this morning and will try to post some pics.

No Designer Papers for Allsorts

Good Morning All
John and I are going to visit Valencia next week.  We were going to go to Seville but it is a  long train journey (5 hours plus) and a change in Madrid, so we may leave that until next year and make it more of a holiday, spend afew days in Madrid and afew in Seville.
So my visits will be few and far between this coming week, but will catch up next weekend.
*******

Allsorts Challenge this week is 'No Designer Paper'

So I used embossed Centura pearl card matted onto yellow card
I used a pre-coloured image and sentiment from our sponsor, Deedee Digis

Also Brenda is offering a pair of tickets to the Hobbycraft show in November Woohoo.

Fave Colour Combo for Creative Craft Cottage

Good Morning All
Creative Craft Cottage Challenge this time is to show your favourite colour combination.
Now this is quite hard as I have so many, pink and black, pink and lilac, brown and beige, brown and blue etc etc etc.

I coloured this sweet image from Lacy Sunshine, our sponsor, their digis are so cute.

I dont know why but I wanted to colour it in yellows and oranges, not usually my colours but heyho there we go.
I chose a card blank that I bought at the Ellesmere Port craft show when I visited with my sister last December.  I had to hand cut some matts for it.  Once again all bits from my stash, when I make flowers I tend to make quite afew of them and store them in mini drawers, so that is where the big flower came from.
Hop over to the challenge blog to see all the other wonderful DT creations.

Rueda de Tapas

Good Morning All
By the time this goes live I shall probably be feeling abit the worse for wear, why ----
Here in our village, this weekend is Rueda de Tapas which means  Wheel of Tapas.
This starts on Friday through until Sunday, and each bar in the village has 2 or 3 tapas each of the days, you tour around as many bars as you can and have a tapa and a wine, beer or soft drink, and you get a stamp on a card, then you vote for your fave tapas bar at the end of the weekend!!!!
That's if you are still standing !!!!!

******
Back to crafting.  I borrowed this die from a friend at our craft meet and when I cut it, I did wonder what to do with it.
If you have the same die I would love to see how you have used it, please mention in your comments and I will visit your blog.

Still busy making loads of Christmas cards for the charities I support here, and making my own too.
Trying to get all mine ready  for posting so that I can take them with me to UK and distribute or post while I,m there.

Fairy Enough for MAWTT

Good Morning All
A definite change in the weather this week, I had to get a cardi out on Monday !!!!
 The wind was quite chilly.

A night out for me tonight with the girlies and Gary, we are going to a drag night at a local bar and 'Shirley Bassey' take off so should be a good night.
*****
Susan is hosting out Moving Along With The Times Challenge this time and she wants Fairies.

I used a die cut decoupage mounted onto Spellbinders Ornate Square, inked on the edges.  The tag from the same die set with a tiny envelope and card.  The backing paper has fairies on too.

Pop over to the challenge blog and take a peek at the other DT creations.
