About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Flowers Showers for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge this week is hosted by Ellie and she has chosen

Flowers and /or Showers

So as I have had plenty of time on my hands with our lockdown, I made two cards.
First was Flowers, a lovely topper from LOTV.
The papers are from a pad from Hobbycraft I think, all offcuts from boxes I made.

 2nd -  Showers.
This is a decoupage pad from Joanna Sheen.
Who remembers the plastic macs we wore as kids.
Paper from Docrafts

Brenda is giving this lovely stamp set from Studio Light for our winner.

Doodle Cards

Good Morning All

I,m still following the doodling with Barbara Gray and enjoying it although my thumbs joints are aching abit.

I have made myself an A5 book to sketch in using the same method as a junk journal, sewing sheets of A4 paper folded in half to make a book.
It was either that or lots of sheets of loose paper, as all our Papel shops are closed.

Anyway, afew of my doodles on the loose sheets I though were OK to make into cards and here are a couple.
I kept them both just black and white to match the doodle.
I made a sheet of sentiment to cut up and these are two of them.
Although the steps are rubbish!!!

I will send these to friends and family in the UK during the pandemic, hopefully, to put a smile on their face.
They may even laugh at my doodling!!!

But Barbara is right when she says that doodling helps you get over the stress and anxiety of this time we are going through.
And it is fun too, even for me that cant draw for toffee.

Blue Groovi

Good Morning All

I hope you all had a nice Easter, as best you could in the circumstances.
A Facebook post reminded me of this time last year, I think your, in the UK were having brilliant weather and we had constant rain for 4 or 5 days.
It was terrible and I didn't have dry coat or shoes for taking Rico out for a walk.
We felt so sorry for people that had come over for a long weekend for Easter.

Anyway, onto brighter things.
I made this card a while ago, not long after I came back from UK in January.
I had made some of the elements while I was there as I keep a smaller Groovi set at Mums.
I backed it onto  paper I had made using Pixie powders.

Good Morning All

The Allsorts Challenge is running for two weeks so there is no new post for them this morning.

Crafty Friends challenge this time is Anything Goes so a nice easy one.
Our sponsor is JMC Design so I used two of their little images for my two cards today.

Groovi and Doodling

Good Morning All

Here is a card I made for St. Valentines day for the craft shop and to show my Groovi class.
I thought if it didn't sell, I could take the sentiment off and replace it with Happy Anniversary.
Quite a simple card to make as there is no embossing, just follow the lines on the Groovi plate.
I added afew of my little butterflies to match.

Whilst we are on lockdown, Barbara Gray from Clarity has been doing a Doodle live on the Clarity worldwide page on Facebook.
I have been following along and then played around abit on my own yesterday.
Here are my doodles.

I am really enjoying this and in these times it is great to just lose myself in doodles.
All you need is paper and a pen or even a pencil.
If I do some really good ones I may make a card!!!!

Anything Goes for Penny Black & Happy Sunday

Good Morning All

I have joined  the DT for Penny Black and More as a guest  from  Allsorts Challenge.

Please play along if you have any Penny Black stamps.

I used PB3820K called A Touch
I was playing with my Mica Magics so I coloured some card then cut a tag using Johns die set.
And I already had some ivy leaves cut, again, Johns dies.
I thought I would try colouring the image with Mica Magics too, just to see if it looked OK.
I think it is not bad.

Onto the challenge I set my Craft Club ladies as they wanted to carry on with this while we cannot meet.

Something Old,New, Borrowed, Blue for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge this week is hosted by Kath and it is
Something Old
Something New
Something Borrowed
 Something Blue

So here goes.

Something Old - Stencil
Something New - Johns Mosaic die
Something Borrowed - Johns Blossoms die (borrowed from my Crafty mate Val J)
Something Blue - Flowers and Gems

I inked the blossoms with Tim Holtz Distress  pads then sprayed with Izinks metalic spray so they look like I have used pearlised card.

Prize

Have fun.
**************
While I was out walking Rico the other morning the sky looked lovely and it got me thinking about the saying
'Every cloud has a Silver lining'
The photos dont do it justice, the silver lining was very prominent

I think the lockdown situation is getting to us all at present, it is for me.
I,m going through a spell of, not depression, but anxiety I think.
I cant settle to anything.  I go in my craft room and cant get inspired, so I half make a card then leave it.  I know I should do some more housework or clean some cupboards out but I cant motivate myself.
I know it will pass, the sooner the better.
Anyway at least the weather is getting better here, we have had alot of rain the past couple of weeks.

On a more cheery note, here is Tess learning to write her numbers.

It was nice enough to have a BBQ on the roof terrace yesterday, I even had to go and change into a pair of shorts!!!!!
We normally have a BBQ outside on the community space outside our kitchen window but that is not allowed at present.

Take care everyone
