About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Dies Challenge Day 9 & JND Heart Box

Good Morning All
John Next Door die today and it is his Heart box,
I initially bought this because you can make any shaped box with it as that is the way John designed it.
I cut it in Black and then a floral patterned piece for the top.
I must admit, it is a little bit fiddly but I am going to watch Johns Tutorial again and try making it a different shape too as I make lots of boxes for my Craft Club ladies.

The leafy swirl is one I got in a swap I think and then added some Spellbinder flowers, some twine and a sentiment tag.

Here is a link to Johns Craftalong on Hochanda when he demoed this die along with others.

Spring Flowers or Showers for Allsorts

Good morning All

Allsorts Challenge this week is hosted by  Ellie and the theme is
Spring Flowers or Showers.
I got this stamp out of the packet and thought it was a daffodil, then realised it is a Camellia, as the title is Camellia Ring  Elements by John Lockwood.
I looked online and Camellias do flower in Spring, so that's OK.

I coloured the same colour as a daff.
The sentiment stamp is from the same set.
I heat embossed this with Copper powder.

The mini sentiment is from JND sentiment set.

A lovely prize on offer this week so pop over to challenge blog for details.

1st Crafty Ribbons DT

Good Morning All

My first post for Crafty Ribbons DT and so excited!!!!
They run a challenge on Facebook, I have won  afew times in the past and was able to get hold of some of their gorgeous ribbons.
See my post HERE to see how I used some of them.

As soon as I got hold of Johns Ribbon Threader die I knew I wanted to use it for this project.
But I wanted to add an extra something!!!
I bought these pearls a while ago and the hole in them is very large, too big for Stick pins, but perfect for ribbon.
They make it look like little bows all the way round.

This card is larger, 7x7.
I offset the mats to make it abit different
This beautiful Satin ribbon is available HERE and it is only 3 quid for 20 mtr.

The sentiment is from Johns Stamp set -

This is another card I made using the same technique but with some gorgeous buttons from Crafty Ribbons too.

The Pink Heart buttons and pastel round ones are all available from Crafty Ribbons,
as is the gorgeous Heart Grosgrain ribbon.

And Crafty Ribbons Inspiration Blog
If you visit the inspiration blog you will see some creations by Jan.
I sent her some bows I made when I got my ribbon from Crafty Ribbons and she has made some lovely Easter projects with them.

Craft Club Gifts & Sketch

Good Morning All

As some of you may know, I give my Craft Club girls a sketch each week, just a little challenge for them but I also share it on my Facebook Page too.
Anyone is more than welcome to enter, either comment on Facebook with a pic or email one to me.

Firstly though, here is the little gifts I have made for my ladies this week, a little Tissue Pouch.

I loved making these and I hope they like them too.

Now onto the sketch.
I have starting drawing these myself with Office Draw.

If you fancy having a go, take no notice of the colours, just the layout.

Here is my interpretation
I used one of John Lockwoods Circle Stamps, cut out wth CE Noble Circle die

I used the off cuts to decorate the inside.
My second one is using a LOTV Topper
Bow and butterfly made by me and some buttons with Twine bows

I made this one for a challenge on Facebook too so if anyone is in the same group you may have already seen it, apologies.

I draw a name from everyone that makes a card and I will post out a little gift.

Chloe Stamp & Die set

Good Morning All

I could not resist buying this Chloe Die and Stamp when I saw her demoing on Hochanda a while ago.
It took me a while to get the money together and get the order from Joanna Sheen, but worth the wait, I love them.
This is is quite plain and using the stamp too with Johns Izink in a turquoise colour.

I matted the white card onto some spotty paper to show under the butterflies.

Organza ribbon bow with one of my stick pins.

This one I stamp with Izink again, in a purple colour.
Stamped the sentiments with Johns Camellia  Ring stamp set.

The little leaves are from JND range.
I added  glitter glue to the wings.

An extra note posted on Facebook yesterday by PostPals  --------

Please welcome our new Pal Elle. Could you send her a Christmas card?
In the past year Elle has had a double lung transplant and a nasty infection which has resulted in multiple surgeries, losing her hair and becoming completely deaf. She will be in hospital over Christmas and for a few months while they try to beat this infection. She is in need of lots of TLC. We are waiting to hear where her family would like her sisters post sent

Please send a card to some of these kids and their families.I posted a load when I was in UK, my craft club make some and I pay for the postage. There is a link to the site in the sidebar.  Just the cost of a stamp will bring a smile to someone.
Thank You

Afew pics from UK visit

Good Morning All
Here are afew pics from my visit to UK.
First stop was in North West.

4 generations - Mum, me, my son and my grandaughter

Noah and Aurora love playing in my sisters garden, bubbles and water balloons.

************
Next stop was Leicester.

I went out for lunch with John Next Door, Mrs Duck (Ang) and one of their friends.

Now he is having a well earned break in Greece, he wasn't booked on Monarch, thank goodness!!!!

Then these are some miniature plants that a lady made for John and Ang.
I couldn't resist showing you these, they are amazing.
She makes all parts of them and the tiny flowers and leaves are paper.
Very intricate work.

Then last stop was Corby where I met up with a lovely lady from  my swap group on Facebook.
We met up for a cuppa and a swap.

Then finally, Hollie and Tess.
Hollie had a school assembly where they had to dress up as a favourite character and sing!!!

Then this little cutie has just started walking and learning to talk, so funny.

A most pleasurable trip and today I am taking some friends to Quesada to pick up a coach for their cruise.
Then John and I are going out for a walk.
THEN I can get in my craft room and play with all my new goodies!!!!!!

Daisy Daisy for Allsorts

Good Morning All
It is my turn to host the challenge this week over at Allsorts
I chose the theme of Daisy Daisy.
I used John Lockwood Daisy Dream Stamp and his paper pad 'Spring Shades'
I used Perfect Medium to stamp and then brushed with Pearl shades of Cosmic Shimmer.

The Cosmic Shimmer looks so pretty stamped onto black card.

The paper has flowers on which, I think, look like daisies.

Prize is one of Johns Stamp Sets

Anything Goes for Crafty Friends

Good Morning All
Crafty Friends Challenge is my first post this morning.
The theme is Anything Goes and we are sponsored by Pot Pourri Designs
And it is one of their images I have used on my card.
I made a dress from doilies and used another doily behind the image.
All matted onto John Lockwood paper and a Creative Expressions pierced flag sentiment.

I used what was left from the sheet of paper for the inside of the card and a piece of satin ribbon.

Here are some more doilie dresses I have made for card embellishment, fun making them.

A great way of using old bits of stash up too.

I have had these doilies for ages.
