About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Good Morning All

Here is a Fabric Book I have made for a swap on a Facebook group I am a member of.

I framed the picture with wooden corners.
Added a lovely lace trim and some pearl trim.

And the spec was to make a Stick Pin fabric book, we did not have to include the ins but I have.

I also added some dangle charms too

I hope my partner likes it.

Good Morning All

Afew weeks ago I made a lovely Ribbon & Gem flower for Allsorts Challenge,  and this is what I used it for, a Fabric Book.
It is quite small, about 6 x 4

Inside with afew homemade Stick Pins

I shall probably gift this to someone.
The stick Pins are for sale at top of my blog.

I just wanted to show you this lovely card from one of my ladies at my craft club.
Denise is new to card making and she messaged this card to me as she was soooo pleased with it.
With good reason I think, what do you think??

Well done Denise, you are well on the road to being poor, all your money being spent  on craft stash!!!!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Fabric Book For Auction

Good Morning All
I made this Fabric Book for a swap on FB, I thought I had entered it but hadn't, Duhhhhh.
Just when I realised I had missed it, there was a post on FB from Post Pals doing a Spring Auction and wanted craft items to sell and raise money.
No brainer for me, I got in touch with them straight away.
I made the satin ribbon flowers and the embellishment in the top corner.

This is the inside with 4 pages so plenty of room for stick pins and pockets to store  embellishments.

Altered Photo Album

Good Morning All

I saw this Simpsons photo album in the local charity shop and thought it was just begging to be altered.
This is a pic of the items I bought that day for about 3 euros.
I will show you the rest when I have done them.
I used the cloth with the pink flower on for this project too.

I gave it a quick coat of chalk paint just to hide some of the print because I was not sure how much of it would show through the fabric.

Inside the front and back covers.
I added a piece of pink felt to cover the fabric turn ins from the front.
The lace is part of a tray cloth.
Edged with pleated lace around the edges and tiny crochet doily in the corners with a pearl centre.

This is the cloth in the first pic that I used on the spine of the book.

I covered the book with wadding and fabric from a duvet cover, then topped with a piece of lace  tablecloth.

This is the back.
Crochet doily and a lace flower in centre.

All edged with pink and white gathered lace trim.

A beautiful satin flower made in the same way as my
Twisted Flower Tutorial at top of my blog.

Another handmade flower with lace centre
Two stick pins added.

And finally, the front.
Lots of bits used on this. The dark pink bits are from a scarf.
I added glass beads to the cut offs from the seam.
Some lace under the edge of the picture are scraps from the tablecloth

I am super pleased with this.
And hope you all like it.
But, most importantly, I thoroughly enjoyed doing it.
Now I just have to sell it!!!!
Just 25 euro to cover P&P from here in Spain, as I think it will be over 500gms

Another Stick Pin book

Good Morning All
Here is another Stick Pin Fabric Book I made for the fayre last week.
I found  this gorgeous (sort of runner) in the charity shop for 2 euros for two.
I thought it was so pretty and edged with some lovely lace.

So I cut one from it. I have enough left to make afew more fabric books.

The pattern is ribbon threaded through the fabric to make the lovely flowers and leaves.

I added a piece of felt for the centre pages.
all edged with pink and white lace.

I added abit more lace across the middle.

Stick Pins added.
This is the other side of the felt page.

And this is the finished book with ribbon to tie closed.

I love making these, so satisfying for some reason.

Stick Pin Fabric book

Good Morning All

I made  a stick pin book to go on the stall last week but it didn't sell.
Although, overall I did very well, others didn't do too well, but I sell my cards so cheap, just to get rid of them really.  Better getting something instead of nothing.
I have lots of lace to be used and this is a perfect way of using it.
I really enjoy making these and have been making ribbon flowers too, as you saw on Monday.
(Tutorial at top of blog)

This is the inside before I added the pins.

I did quite well though so very pleased.
And a big Thank You to my crafty friend Val, who helped out before flying off to UK.

This wont be wasted as it will be a surprise gift for someone.

*******
Did you see John Next Door on Hochanda this week?
He was storing his stick pins on a heart shaped box like this.
This is one he made for me, and I still use it.
The pins are some of the first I made, aren't some of them  awful???

This was the original post HERE when he gave it to me before he moved to UK.
He is very good at sewing but I dont think he has as much time to play now.
*****
Also, when I got up this morning the sky was an amazing colour, the pic doesn't do it justice.
It was so pink and grey, just beautiful, it changed in the few seconds it took me to get hold of my tablet.

and this is one day last week, another beauty.

Small Fabric Book

Good Morning All
I wanted to show you this small fabric book I made for a swap group that I am a member of on Facebook.
I was abit nervous of joining in with the swaps but the lady was really pleased with what I sent her.
A theme is set and then names are drawn for our partners and
we are given a date to post the parcel by.
Anyway, the swap was for snail mail, flip book or envelope book.
So I made an envelope book and filled each envelope with bits and bobs.
But I also included a fabric book with some stick pins in and other embellishments.

This is the front, it measured about 6 x 4"

This is the back.

Inside before pins added.
Crocheted doily that I made too.

I also added some of the embellishments I made and showed HERE

My swap partner loved it all.

I will show you what she sent me when I receive it.

On countdown now for UK visit, 2 weeks.
