About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Baby & Birthdays

 Good Morning All

Back to Baby cards today.

All using LOTV Toppers and the first two are using scraps and offcuts too which is always good, makes me feel good anyway.

The paper on this one, I made into the focal point as it was so nice.
The card is Phill Martins texture paste in a sparkly blue colour, put through a stencil.  I cannot tell you how long that has been in the drawer waiting to be used!!!!

No Craft Group today as the shop is closed and we are going out for a meal.  We have 3 birthdays in Feb.  Eves was last Friday and the two Vals was on Wednesday, yes St Valentines day.  And Val C was 80 years young so we are going to celebrate all three.

Crafty Friends & MAWTT Challenges

 Good Morning All

Welcome to the New Year of Challenges with Crafty Friends and Moving Along With The Times.

I will kick off with Crafty Friends with a theme of

For me that means Baby cards and I have made two, one for a Boy and one for a Girl.

For this one I stenciled the background and added an LOTV topper cut with an Oval die from CE.

Again this is a topper from LOTV matted onto some lovely pink embossed card my friend gave me.
The sentiment banner I have had for years.

***************
Now onto Moving Along With The Times Challenge where the theme is
Use Kraft Card
I made this card using a Stencil from Clarity stamp.
I didn't ink it I used a fine liner pen then I coloured using Nova Metallic  Markers.  Then I heat embossed the circle sentiment.

Please pop over to the challenge blogs to see the rest of the DT work.

A nice, thought provoking quote I saw on Instagram.

Sun, Moon, Stars or Baby for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge time again and the theme is
Sun, Moon & Stars
or
Baby
I went with baby as this card was made for my eldest son who, along with his partner, was expecting their 4th child when I made this card
We didn't know if it was a boy or girl, hence the colours on my card.
She did have another girl  when I was there in July - Arianna Jessica-Lee

I used a topper from an LOTV sheet and cut it with a Nellie Snellen heart die. and inked the edges with yellow Distress ink.
The background I had already made from left over inkspray sheet.
A pink and a blue heart, boy or girl.

Brenda is giving this wonderful prize.

Be Square for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge this week is Be There or Be Square.

This is an idea that I got from Christine who does the quilling class that Val J and I attended.
This was my practice one but thought it was good enough to make into a card.

Square card blank
Silver square mat
4 square heart embossed pieces, inked edges
And the quilled pied matted onto a square blue card.
One of my bows with a cute Teddy charm.

'B' for Allsorts

Good Morning All
Brenda, our team leader wants to see things beginning with the letter 'B' over at
  Allsorts Challenge this week.
As I always use Butterflies for  B challenge I decided to go with Baby instead.
I found some sweet Humphrey toppers from Crafters Companion in my stash, matted onto a scalloped circle.
I printed some backing paper 'It's A Girl'

Added one of my satin bows and ribbon.

Used the smaller  topper to make a gift tag.

I had a die cut elephant on my desk so decided to add that to the inside.

Two prizes beginning with 'B' on offer this week

Can manage in there with the fan on in the afternoon, once the sun has moved around the side.

I made these three cards on last Week using the same rubber stamp, all heat embossed.
Two with gold and one with Lilac embossing powder.
All very CAS.
All with CE Hearts Embossing Folder

Embossing for MAWTT

Good Morning All
Moving Along With The Times is hosted by our lovely Sue B.
She would like to see embossing on your creation, either wet or dry.

I went with an embossing folder I got free on a magazine and made a baby card, I dont seem to make many of these.
I used a Pram die from  China and one of my homemade Embellishment bows
(available HERE on my Facebook Group)

The pram die, I cut in silver and pink and glued onto the embossed card which I have inked at the edges.

I cut the Banner die twice too and shadowed it.

The  circle sentiment free from
Netty HERE

Pop over and join in, there is a set of John Lockwood stamps as a winner prize.

I had a super day yesterday making lots of 'Man' cards.
I pulled some papers, toppers and bits out on my desk and got started.
