About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Use Vellum or Parchment

Good Morning All
It is my turn to host the challenge over at Moving Along With The Times and I have chosen 'Vellum' or 'Parchment'.  I must admit, I do struggle to use Vellum but I do participate in Parchment now and again, and this is what I have done for my creation this week.  In fact I have done two for you to see.

This is a close up of the pattern and below is the grid I used to make it.

I had to prick all the holes then cut to make the tiny crosses.  Then I used a very fine embossing tool to make the white bits.

Some bought flowers and some made using the Cheery Lynn Roses die with a pearl centre.

I bought this one when I went to our local craft shop with John Next Door, couldn't resist!!!!!.

CHALLENGES  -----
Crafty Ribbons 75 - Anything Goes + Ribbon
Simply Create Too - Mothers Day / for a Female

This is another one that I have made and I couldn't resist showing it to you.  The teddies are coloured with crayons on the front of the parchment.

CHALLENGES --
Just for Fun - Love
JellyPark Challenges - Lots of Love

This shows the sentiment up close and the pricking on the borders using a grid.

I hope to see your creations on the MAWTT Challenge.

Hi Wendy,

These are gorgeous, so delicate and pretty. I have tried parchment before without much success so I will have to try again as I think the finished look is always stunning.

Hi Wendy. Beautiful cards. I wish I could do parchment work, sadly my arthritic hands don't let me! I used to love cross stitching but had to sop for the same reason :( Take care.

Two absolutely beautiful pieces of works of art Wendy, it makes me want to go back to parchment craft. Love the changes you have made to your blog, haven't been about too much lately, so these changes might have been made a bit of a time back, but they are lovely. Hugs, Jen xx

Both your creations are so cool. I just love the use of the parchment and the coloring on it is awesome. So glad to see you playing this week at Jellypark Friends:)

Wendy, I struggle with Vellum too, and tags for some reason, I'll bet there's enough papercrafters out there we could make a club.
Despite your struggle that card is delish and the bears on the other card are too cute. Thanks for playing with us at Jellypark Friends. I'm sorry to be so late, we've already got a new challenge up, I hope you'll play in that one too.
