About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Something New for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge this week is set by Helene and her theme is

Something New

I have been playing with my New Groovi Plate monthly subscription plate which I thought was perfectly apt for the start of a new year after the one we have just had.

This one I posted to my sister Carol and asked her to share with my other sister, Gill.

I am not sure if I mentioned but we lost our other sister, Sylvia and December 3rd.

She had dementia and the contracted Covid.

This is actually on purple parchment.

And this one is one a medium green parchment.
I only did White work (embossing) and I didn't think  they needed any colour adding.

My Craft Club Xmas Gifts

 Good Morning All

These are part of the gifts I gave my Craft Club ladies for Christmas.

I made these little books and filled with little embellishments for them to use.

The books are about 4 or 5 inch square and made from Kraft card.

I made about 15 of them, all very similar but obviously different using bits from my stash.

I added grommets and ribbon for the fasteners.

I made some little dangle charms.

I added them to a page by punching holes in a toning piece of card and a jump ring.

These are Xmas dangles

These are paperclips following a tutorial by Gi Kerr Here for dress and Here for handbags.

Thanks for visiting.

Another Baby Shawl

 Good Morning All

As you know I love Crochet and here is another baby shawl I have completed.

I followed a tutorial on You Tube by Craft & Crochet HERE

I did the border in lemon as I am trying to use all my part balls of wool and lemon is a neutral colour for a baby.

At present I am crocheting Shrugs and Shawls for myself and a couple of friends.
Excuse my PJ's.

Happy Sunday Challenge

 Good Morning All

I decided on a sketch to start the 2021 Challenges off.

My card

Embossed Butterfly Centura pearl card.

Lily of the Valley image coloured and mounted onto 2 different shades of green card.

Green and white ribbon on side with sentiment tied on and a couple of ribbon flowers added.

Sketch to follow

Everyone is welcome to join in.

*****************
We have new restrictions brought in on Thursday last week so our Craft Club is suspended until further notice, so this will give me a chance to build up my stash of gifts for the ladies.
The craft shop is still open and we could meet but only 4 to a table and well spread out so Liz and Paul thought it best to be safe than sorry which is good.
I know 2 couples personally that have the virus and it is not pleasant although they are still at home fortunately, but quite ill.

The challenge I set before we broke up for the Christmas holidays was a sketch.

Fave Colour for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge time again  and Lynn has chosen the theme of

Fave Colour

I went for Purple / Lilac

I used Spellbinders Butterflies Circle for the die cut and CE Butterfly emboss folder.

I wanted a big butterfly and then found this fan in my peeloffs.

I added the butterflies that came out of the die cuts.

I added two scraps of ribbon and added a butterfly charm.

Hugs

 Good Morning All

A quick post today as I am trying to tidy my files and computer.

So here is a card I made a while ago and it one of John Lockwoods stamps when he was with Creative Expressions - Lily Lattice Circle Stamp.

Its a very pretty stamp and easy to add some colour.

 A very easy card.

AG for Crafty Ribbons

 Good Morning All

Crafty Ribbons is Anything Goes for me this week.

I was browsing Pinterest to find some new ideas and found these Bookmarks.

I think the Anchor one will be good for my John and as he is a big reader and the Paw print one will go to a friend.

You will have to excuse my stitching as I am not the greatest sewerist and my sewing machine was not playing nice when I made them.

They are made with elastic to give the stretch.

Crafty Ribbons also have a Facebook Group where you can enter your creations.
Dont forget that Crafty Ribbons have their monthly selection boxes on sale now.

AG for Allsorts

 Good Morning All

A very happy new year to you all.

As today is Saturday, this means a new challenge at Allsorts

The theme is

Anything Goes

Our sponsor is Chocolate Baroque

Chocolate Baroque is a small independent art and craft company, based in the historic market town of Barnard Castle in County Durham in the North-East of England and is owned and run by Lesley Wharton.

We design our own range of natural rubber art stamps from Sue's hand drawn originals, complemented by typography from Lesley.  The rubber stamps are made in house, by David, to our very exacting quality

I have had this Groovi frame made for quite a while and I saw this idea of using can tabs on Pinterest.
As we have alot of these  which I usually give to my crafty friend Jen, to make handbags.
I found 2 red ones in the bag, which I thought were nice.
I added cream seam binding to those two and organza ribbon to the other.
The darker pink mat is an piece from a card I received, thats why there is a flower on the bottom corner, but I thought it looked OK.

I shall be making more like this I think.
I hope you join us at Allsorts.

New for MAWTT & AG for Crafty Friends

 Good Morning All

Happy New Year yo you all.

Moving Along With The Times challenge is

NEW

I went with a New Style of card for me, a card on a card on a card and New prints from a Peter Rabbit CD.

The prints are from a Peter Rabbit CD and I made into a few pages so there was quite afew flips-

I matted it onto some card I found in my stash with letters & numbers on.

I shall give this to one of the grandkids for their birthday card.

I added a Rabbit charm with the sentiment.

I added peeloffs on the opposite flips for abit more interest.
*******************
Crafty Ribbons have their monthly selection boxes on sale now.

 Anything Goes
 this month.
I made a Groovi card using one of my favourite plates.
It is a very easy plate to use and all I need to add is a sentiment.

Have fun and enjoy life, my new mantra!!

AG for Crafty Ribbons

 Good Morning All

It is my turn to post for Crafty Ribbons today and it is

Anything Goes

I saw a video on You Tube by Natasia at Treasure Books showing how to make these lovely books from 1 sheet of 12x12 card.  And as I have loads of 12x12's I got to work.

I have uploaded a video to show my take on them too.

All the ribbon used is from Crafty Ribbons store.

The card I used was all double sided which is obviously better.

I decorated with embellishments form Gi (Happiness in Crafting), some words from Vectoria Designs and scraps from my box.

All the ribbon is Grosgrain Dotty ribbon HERE

This one is a prize for the raffle at my next Junk Journal class.
I added a mini envelope on the front and included some 'words' for the winner to use in their own JJ's.

Inside and I punched the corners of this one, the others I just rounded.

I added some of the embellishments to odd pages inside too, but not in the centre so that the pages can be used for photos or journalling.

A can tab with a gem and seam binding added for decoration.

I am very happy with these and shall be making more as gifts and swaps.

Merry Christmas & unfinished project

 Good Morning All

Over on Facebook, Tracie Fox set a challenge at the weekend which was to finish an unfinished project.

I made this envelope folio years ago and I dont particularly like it and it never got finished.

This sheet of toppers was in the drawer with it so I cut them all out and made some into tags.

Then I went on and decorated some of the pages with lace and trim and butterflies.

And this is how it ended up.
So much nicer dont you think??
