About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Acetate for MAWTT

Good morning All

Moving Along With The Times Challenge is hosted by Mrs Duck, and our Ang wants to see
ACETATE
on your creations.

I found some printable acetate in my stash, I think it came from Crafters Companion some years ago.
The only problem is, it is hard to get a decent picture.
You can just see this leaf print on here, I used the acetate as an overlay

I coloured the image with Polychromo pencils.

Added one of my dangle charms to the ribbon tied to the sentiment.

This one is a Cottage country garden printed onto the acetate.
All I added was a sentiment, easy peasy.

Fabric Book Swap

Good Morning All

Here is a Fabric Book I have made for a swap on a Facebook group I am a member of.

I framed the picture with wooden corners.
Added a lovely lace trim and some pearl trim.

And the spec was to make a Stick Pin fabric book, we did not have to include the ins but I have.

I also added some dangle charms too

I hope my partner likes it.

Crafty Ribbons & Happy Sunday

Good Morning All

Today is my turn to Show a creation made for Crafty Ribbons and I used a couple of pieces I had left of the Grosgrain Stones Ribbon.
Well what is it you may ask??????

It is a Pencil Case for my Polychromo pencils.!!!!!

Now I am not the neatest of machinists.  But I couldn't find a pencil case in my local shops that would hold enough pencils, I wanted one that would hold about 72, and I didn't want to wait for one to arrive if I ordered online, so I decided to make one.

I used two pieces of ribbon that I had left over from previous projects.
Same design but different colours.
Stitched onto felt then tidied up by sewing an outside piece using a duvet cover and I left enough material for a flap so that the pencils dont fall out.

It serves the purpose for me and is compact enough for me to take to Craft club.
Crafty Ribbons have a Facebook Page too.
The challenges are on hold for the time being but there are still some great bargains to be had in the store.
*************************************

My card for my little challenge this week is this one.
The sketch is below.
Most of the stuff on this one is scraps on my desk.
The parchment is an offcut from a Square piece.

Sketch to Follow.

Lets see what my Craft Club ladies come up with and you if you wish to join in.

The gifts I gave out at Craft Club on Friday were
just a couple of chocs in a little gift box.
And I forgot to photograph them, sorry.

Autumn Colours for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Autumn Colours
is the theme for Allsorts Challenge this week, hosted by  Helene.
As I have mentioned before, I always end up with narrow pieces of Parchment left from my work .
Well here is one of them.
I backed it onto Clarity designer paper which is all these amazing Autumn colours.
I always end up with lots of strips of these too as they are from an 8x8 pad.
I ran the paper through an EF -  Mosaic Leaves
Added a leaf charm with twine wrapped around the paper quite afew times.
I found this paper tag in my stash  from Happy Birthday printed paper.

I made another card using Nutmeg  digi from JMC designs.
I coloured with Polychromos.
The Autumn sentiment is from a Sheet from JMC too.

Store voucher from JMC Designs is the prize this week.

Just Because

Good Morning All

Here is a card I made to keep for myself to send with a swap, I keep afew of these in store to use as and when I need them.
It is a Groovi  card made with a baby plate  received as a member of Groovi monthly club.
The border is the Charles Border grid and all backed onto Clarity Designer paper.

I do love these border grid plates, they  take some work but so effective.

Fairy Freebies

Good Morning All

Here is a couple of cards I made with some freebie stamps from a magazine.
Similar design and I think the papers were free in a magazine too and I love them.
I stamped the fairy onto  pierced oval that I had inked with brushes and Izinks.

Two sweet cards for the charity box.

Penny Black GDT & Happy Sunday

Good Morning All

As you know, being in the Allsorts DT we can guest at Penny Black & More Challenge
The theme for September is
Animals
I have afew of these cute hedgehogs already stamped ready for colouring.
As I am now in love with my Polychromo pencils, I used those to colour him.
Johns Emboss folder, then cut an aperture,   used his snowflake dies and  cut in Mirri card.
I inked through a stencil to give a background.

**********************

A nice easy one.
A Circle Within a Square
A pretty Groovi Baby card, using Scalloped circle and a scalloped square and snipped the corners out.

The options are endless for this challenge.

Hollie my little Groovi girl

Good Morning All

There is no Allsorts post today as the challenge runs for 2 weeks through the Summer.
The current theme is Feminine so pop over to the challenge blg if you fancy entering to win a lovely prize from Swedish House Crafts.

Hollie

Tess

When Hollie and Tess were here the week before last, we had a short time crafting and Hollie always likes to play with my Groovi stuff.
She is very good and this was her make while she was here.
All her outlines were very good and as I wasn't watching her when she started colouring, she started on the front which is the wrong side for parchment, so 3 leaves were done  on front and 3 on the back.
It still looks OK though.

I told here I would make it into a card for here to give either to her mum or her other Granny for Christmas.
Here it is.

Isn't her outlining very good??

I think we have another Groovier in the family.

Things with Wings for MAWTT

Good Morning All
Moving Along With The Times Challenge is hosted by Jackie Trinder this morning and her theme is
Things With Wings.

I used a sweet Fairy decoupage image backed onto two Embossed pieces of card, one Wild Roses and one Butterflies.
I inked all the edges with Lilac Distress ink.
I used a scrap of pretty paper too that was on my desk, as it had butterflies on I thought it matched the theme.

Pop over to the challenge blog and see the other lovely DT makes.

Triple Easel Card

Good Morning All

Jen, one of my Craft Ladies, makes some lovely, fancy shaped cards and she made a beautiful Triple Easel Heart shaped one.
As I had never made one, she sent me a link HERE  and I set about it.
I do not have nesting hearts so I used Ovals.
I used mostly bits that I had already cut out, to decorate it.

A side view.

The only trouble with this design is that you either have to send it to someone that understands it  or include instructions of how to stand it up.

Now I have to cut some more shapes out as Denise wants to make one at Craft Club on Friday  for a friend.
