About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Good Morning All

Allsorts Challenge time again and I want to see any form of
Transport
on your creations.
I went into my LOTV Toppers stash and pulled out this  cutie.
Matted afew bits of papers onto crimson card to pull out the red of his sweater.

I added string around two of the mats and added the sentiment on the top one and this lovely 'Wish' charm on the bottom one.

Last day

Good Morning All
Well our time in UK is nearly over.
Home tomorrow evening and Craft Club on Friday and then collect Rico from Kennels.

I made these boxes to hold  6x6 cards and a Gift bag for afew goodies.
I shall give to my Slimming Club leader as she is raising money for a very good cause in the UK to get a little girl some pioneering treatment.

The next two cards are quite CAS for me, but made from offcuts and afew of my little butterflies.
The sentiments are die cuts that came with my Gemini machine from Hochanda.

Groovi & Decoupage

Good Morning All

Today I am showing you a  card that combine two of my fave crafts - Groovi and decoupage.
A die cut decoupage flower image and a Groovi Queen border grid plate, all matted onto Pixie powder background.

I have not added a sentiment yet but the colours lead me to Sympathy card, but we will see.
As the Queen grid plates take so long to do it may well be a Birthday card for a friends.

This one has a parchment flower, my little butterflies and the focal point is a scrap mounted onto Mirri card, again, too nice to throw out.
All mounted onto a base made with two scraps from a paper pad I bought in UK from the Declutter site on Facebook.

I get a great sense of satisfaction using scraps and as I give so many cards to charity, it seems silly to waste anything.

Good Morning All

Our Tracy is back and hosting this challenge at Allsorts.

Pretty in Pink

I matted it onto darker pink card and added a small decoupage topper in the corner.

I added satin ribbon to the sides and added the cute Rocking Horse charm with narrow organza ribbon

Leaving on a Jet Plane

Good Morning All

As you know we leave for UK this morning for another visit for John to see his Mum.
We have checked the weather and it is not looking too brilliant so taking coats along with us.
We are bringing Mums suitcases back with us so luggage booked in, seems silly not to fill them doesn't it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have already had afew parcels delivered to my Mums and plan a trip to Hobbycraft and the Range.
Hoping to get to the Works somewhere too as their 12 x 12 card pads are really good value and very good for making my Craft Club gift boxes.

*****************
Over on Facebook, there is a group for Groovi Worldwide ad they organize a PTC swap each month.
My partner has received hers so I can show you now.
The theme was Spring.
I made a pretty envelope for the PTC.

And here is the card I sent with it.
I used one of the Queen border Grid plates.
I love using these and have a King plate in a parcel at Mums waiting for me!!

Enjoy your weekend, I,m sure we will.
We are out tonight with Johns sons in Liverpool for afew drinks and a meal.

Happy Sunday

Good Morning All

For this weeks challenge at my Craft Club I asked the ladies to make
A Criss Cross Card
This is mine

This one opens like a normal card.

I gave them all the card, ready cut and also a full piece to make two if they wanted to.
I also gave a paper pad to let them choose some paper.
It will be very interesting to see what they come up with
They have two weeks for this one as John and I are going to UK next Friday for 6 days to go and visit his Mum and my family of course.  We always stay with my Mum as she has a spare bedroom.
************************

These are the gifts I gave out - Small notepads which I made covers for with a little tuck pocket on the inside front leaf.

I will have to get  my thinking cap on as I am running out of ideas for thses gifts.
One week I tend to give sweets of choccy and the other week something crafty or useful.
If any of you have any ideas, please comment and let me know.
****************
Onto last week challenge which came about because I made this card for friends anniversary with a hidden sentiment , so I asked them to make a card with the sentiment hidden away on the front.

Sharon

Pat

Eve made 2

Floral for MAWTT

Good Morning All
MAWTT Challenge is chosen by one of my newer DT Tinz.
She would like to see Floral,  so I think this will be a busy one.
I used one of the Queen Border grids from Groovi and did a smaller one in Blue parchment.

I found a blue flower in my stash that matched, so glued that on and added tiny parchment flowers with pearl centres around the sentiment tag.
Then I decided to add to corners too.

I have loads of these tiny flowers as I make them from all the small pieces of parchment I have left over from projects.

I do like these Queen plates, they take alot of work but I enjoy it so that is the main thing.
I do keep these cards for family and friends, not into the charity box.

Handbag

Good Morning All

The week before last at my Craft Club I took this little bag in and I was going to show the ladies how to make it, but I had t attend a community meeting for the block where we live and by the time I got back to the club Jen had very kindly shown them
(She used to be a lecturer and is very good at tutoring or showing us how to do stuff)

It is called an Exploding Handbag and there is a tutorial HERE
from Scrimpingmommy.

It uses a 12 x 12 piece of sturdy paper or card.
Some of the ladies glued the sides but it can be left to it falls open.

Very easy to make and looks great I think.
