About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

For a Child for Crafty Friends

Good Morning All
Crafty Friends Challenge this time is For A Child.

We are sponsored by Pink Gems Designs and I used their image called
Jodie in Dungarees (pre coloured)

The backing paper is made using Pixie powders.
I tied some Tulle in a knot and covered with a tiny bow, added a bead dangler.
Tucked some gem swirls from Zsa Zsa creations under edge of Pierced Noble Circle.

Matchboxes

Good Morning All
Here are my Matchboxes from my swap partner, aren't they lovely?
Each one contained homemade trinkets and embellishments.

I mentioned about going on a coach trip the other day and here are afew pics.
It was to a place called Biar, I did say Bier, so spelt wrong!!!

It was about one and a half hours away.  A very small village but very quaint and old.
We did climb upto the top of the Castle, my poor old, creaky knees!!!!

These narrow streets reminded me of Dubrovnik.

Good Morning All
This is a card I made to go in with a swap  on Facebook.
The swap was to make a handbag from card or paper and I shall show you that tomorrow.

The sentiment is from John Lockwood Everyday Daisy Sentiments.
The striplet is Quilted Blocks.
Added tiny flowers and glittered them.

Guest DT for Shopping Our Stash

Good Morning All

Welcome to my latest followers, I can't see that you have blogs for me to visit you but let me know if you do.
I hope you enjoy your crafty visits and get some inspiration.
*******

I have been asked to be a Guest Designer for Shopping Our Stash Challenge blog for the month of March.
What an honour.
It is a weekly challenge and  the first one is
All It's Cracked up to Be.
(Use Crackle Paint)
As I dont have any I used Crackle effect decoupage paper and I made this for a swap too and that theme was Alter a CD.

This is the Cd once I had covered it.

I used a vintage photo and cut it with a Nellie Snellen heart die.

Added lace and flowers and a lovely paper bow from another swap.

I wanted to make it into something more than just a decorated CD
so I punched holes in the bottom of it with my Cropodial, attached some metal rings to hang a
12 x 12 folded card from.

Folded it into 9 segments and matted some LOTV Timeless Victorian Papers onto each segment.
They can add a photo on each segment.

I decorated the front with flowers and plaited some narrow ribbon to tie around it to keep it closed when hung up.

I hope my swap partner likes it.

This is a card I made for a neighbour and friend, Marlene.

I made a little envelope for the front and inserted a little tag inside it.
A lace motif on the front of the envelope.

Spotty ribbon on the inside from my Allsorts teamie Annie in Australia.

She loved it.

I,m suffering with Tinitus again, drives me crazy.
I am trying not to knit or crochet for a while to see if that helps as I feel the muscles in the back of my neck are tight and this causes headaches.
The noise is only in my right ear, very hard to relax and sleep.

Rainbow for MAWTT

Good Morning All
Moving Along With The Times Challenge this time is hosted by one of my newer ladies, Emma.
She would like to see your wonderful creations featuring either a Rainbow or Rainbow colours.

I used rainbow coloured card as a base for this gorgeous stamped image, one of John Next Door called
I coloured with Promarkers and added ribbon, butterfly and some strategically placed pearls
(I dripped some hot glue on and ripped the card !!!!)

This is the card before I added embellishments to show you the rainbow colours.

This is another card I made using the scraps of rainbow card left over.
So pretty I think.

Pop over to the challenge blog and join us with this wonderful challenge.

No Patterned Paper for Craft Rocket

Good Morning All
Craft Rocket challenge this time is to not use any patterned papers.
So I used more Pixie Powder backgrounds.
The colours used on the Pierced Square background are
Midnight Blue, Aqua Teal and Rich Gold.

Then I coloured a piece of card with Ocean Teal Gilding Polish and cut with
CE New Zealand - Wellington die.
Then the centre is matted onto a piece of acetate and Pixie Powders with tissue paper and glitter technique.

Trio of Butterflies

Good Morning All
I am making myself use alot of 'old stuff' and clear alot of bits that have been piling up for years!!!

Now these scalloped squares, different sizes and shades of green, were given to me by a work colleague before I left work in 2009!!!!
Also the card blanks have been in my stash for years too, they are about 8cm x 20cm.

Lots of my homemade butterflies to decorate.

And that's about it, doesn't need anything else really.

The charities benefit from my clearing out !!!

Boxes

Good Morning All
Here are a couple of boxes I have made to put into the local bar and shop, they both sell jewelry so wanted boxes for customers to buy.

This is a tiny dinky one, suitable for a ring!!!

This one is about 4"
A triangle shape.

I have used bits from stash to decorate them both.

These orange flowers were on a swap I received.

Quick Cards

Good Morning All
At our craft club on Friday I took with me some A6 embossing folders, card blanks, Phills corner stamps and ink pad and some of my little butterflies I have been making.
These are the cards I made.  My friend Lin was so amazed at how many I made, a grand total of sixteen.  All I had to do when I got home was to add inserts and bag them up.

I stamped the corner sentiment first.

Then ran through the emboss folder.

Added gems or pearls to some of them
and then the  Butterflies.

The blue one below I had to turn upside down as the stamping went wrong and I cant throw it out, have to use it one way or another.

So sixteen for the Charity box, quick and easy.
Will have to think along the same lines for next Friday but use another theme.

New Blanket for Noah

Good Morning All
I was asked by Megan if I would knit/crochet another blanket for Noah, just like this one HERE.
She washed the other one too hot!!!!

Abit different from the first one but still very happy with it.  It is very soft and I only bought the wool in a local China shop, so quite inexpensive.

Making another now in lemon, mint and white as Lee and Megan are expecting another baby in September.
