About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Golden Wedding Card

Good Morning All

I made this card afew weeks ago.  The lady that runs my 'fat club' asked me to make a special card for another member of the class.  The lady was abit upset that her family could not get over to Spain for the celebrations, so I put my thinking cap on and 'voila' - be warned, this is a long one, lots of pics.

I put two lots of inserts at the back so that all the members could sign it.  I punched them with a hearts X Cut punch.

And I made a box for it with an acetate front and decorated it with more flowers.  I tied a ribbon all around to keep it together.

New Arrival

Good Morning All

I made this card for the Forever Friends Challenge which has now finished and we have gone over to
Crafty Friends Challenge, which is now up and running.

I still love using FF products and this set I bought in the UK when I was there in  April will keep popping up.
This is a Forever Friends image - One from my Ultimate Diecut Pack - New Arrivals.
I have used a negative from a diecut and added some gems and Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms with a little ribbon and then I stamped some words from my LOTV stamp pack all around the edges.
I think it looks pretty cute.

Sunday Mojo 13

Good Morning All
I want to welcome my new followers and hope that you will join me  as and when I post, especially for my Sunday Mojo posts, as these are great fun for me and John, and I think you may find it interesting to see what two people come up with using the same goodies.

We missed last Sundays Mojo because I had my family over and did not step in my craft room all week.  So John saved all the goodies until this week and here is what he came up with.  Once again, it is outside my zone of usual crafting items.

Mostly material and a piece of grey card (cereal box stuff), also a piece of green felt and a small piece of red too.

ITEM number 1.

I decided to do something abit different and settled on a wall/door hanger.
I cut the grey card and used a Spellbinders edge die, and covered a narrower piece in green felt.  Then covered squares of card with the squares of material.

The proceeded to decorate -- I twisted some of the gingham fabric and frayed the edges abit and hot glued it to the edges.  Added roses to match the sentiment----

'Wont You Come Into My Garden
I would Like My Roses To See You'

I rolled some small bits of sacking to add to one of the bunches of roses.

Then added 'key' charms to some red ribbon.  The red buttons hide the lumps of glue.
CHALLENGES ----
The Hobby House Challenge # 1 - Anything Goes

I still had some bits left but then realised I had to make a 'Memory Book' for someone, and I thought John would not mind if I incorporated some of the material for this project, so here it is.

ITEM number 2.

My friend wanted a book with lots of Butterflies on.  She had seen this one and wanted one similar, but wanted pages of card so she could add her own photos.  And she wanted a concertina style, not  ring binders.

I uses the remainder of Johns pink gingham material to cover a piece of white card for the spine of the book, I thought it would hide and crease marks that occur with use.

And here is the inside.

And abit more.

 And a bit more.
I hope you will hop over to Johns next Door and see what he has done.  Also, he has just done his craft room up and it looks amazing and will make you jealous, I know I am.
Hope you are all having a lovely Sunday.

Another piccy of gorgeousness -------

She went home yesterday and I think her Mum  &  Dad will be glad to get her into her own cot as she did not sleep too well whilst she was here and she got very clingy to her Mum so they were not able to leave her with me for the day as we had hoped.  It was lovely to see them all, as it always is, and they are hoping to come again later in the year.  Anyway, hopefully I shall see them when I go back to UK in August when I go back to visit the rest of the family in the North West of England.

Have a good weekend everyone, I,m tidying my craft room and then will catch up on my DT work s I have not touched a thing since last week.

Lets Go Fishing

Good Evening All

This is a card using an  image from
Milk and Coffee  It is called 'Let's Go Fishing'

He is a cutie isn't he?

I have used Sissix scalloped squares for matting and layering and managed to use a negative as well.

The ticket die is from Memory Box 98104.

Here is a closer look at the gorgeous little charm tied with twine.  The 'With Love' tag has been in my stash for years, literally.

The bits of wool just under the edges of the image are left over from another project, I wanted it to look a bit like fishing line or net.

The Great Outdoors

Good Morning All
It is the day for Lady Annes Challenge and we are sponsored by Inky Impressions who produce some gorgeous digi images, the one I used is such a cutie.

I coloured him with my Promarkers and Spectrum Noirs and mounted him on Sissix Scalloped Squares.  I made the bunting myself and used the same twine as I used on the green buttons.  I chose the sentiment because it is green and has 3 buttons on it, to match the buttons I used for the bunting.

Inky Impressions will give the chosen winner a $10 voucher to spend in their online store.

Here Come The Girls

Good Morning All

What a great Birthday it was last week and here is my winner from the comments left for me - Number 14 was pulled out and that is ITA and her blog is  here.  Please contact me with your address to postal address.

Time for the Allsorts Challenge and I think it will be a very busy one this week as the theme is 'Here Come The Girls' so that is easy peasy.

I chose this lovely image from our sponsor, a cute little girl with her boots on and her watering can, coloured her with my Promarkers.  I blinged it up with everything 'Girly' - flowers,  hearts,  ribbon bows,  pins and buttons and beads and gems.  This is what I call, a messy card, I dont think I could fit any more embellishments on it!!!!!!!
I used a negative from a scalloped square die cut and put flowery paper behind it, then mounted the digi on Sissix Framelits Scallop square.  The swirly leaf die is from my friend Chrislee, she posted me a bag full of different die cuts when I was in UK.

The sponsors for this challenge are Digi Stamp
6 digis of winners choice

Crafty Ribbons  will give a selection of goodies (see challenge blog for details)

Heck of a Challenge

Good Morning All
I was lucky enough to be asked to be a Guest Designer this month at Heck of a Challenge.  The theme for the challenge this month is BINGO and I chose the middle horizontal line - Ribbon / Die or Punch / Bird.
I always try to make something abit different for a DT card and this is what I came up with.

It is a triple easel made from a turquoise DL base card and the images are ones that were left over from a Sunday Mojo challenge from John Next Door, they are so pretty.  The centre one is woven ribbon as shown on Card Making Magic.  The circles are Nellie Snellen Multi Frame MFD 030,  they are so pretty and I stuck some blingy butterflies on two of them and a sentiment on the third.  The paper - Hot Off The Press.  I put two corner dies on as well but they don't show too well on the pic, they are Memory Box 'Macarena'

Guest DT for Creative Corners Week 5

Good Morning All

This is my final week as DT guest at Creative Corner Challenge and the theme is 'Masculine'.  I have used a Bugaboo image as they are the sponsor.
I have done a sort of reverse gate fold card with the image inside.  The sentiments are from a Forever Friends die cut sheet.

I used a spotty paper (freebie in a mag) to try to match with the raindrops.

The toggles are from my Mums old button tin and I remember these being cut from one of my old duffle coats before it went in the bin!!!!

Hope you like and will hop over and look at all the wonderful DT creations and be tempted to join in the challenge.

Here is my second card as a new DT member for Charisma Cardz Challenge and it is 'Divas' theme set by Eemeli.

I  decorated with Spellbinders 'Bitty Blossoms' and the leaves from Marianne flower dies.

Hope you like it.

Sponsors are Digistamp Boutique
and they will give the winner 6 digis of their choice.

Cedar Chest Designs  will give a second winner $10 voucher

Happy Birthday

Good Afternoon All
I want to thank everyone for my Birthday Wishes and my new followers too, especially after the Allsorts Birthday Blog Hop, which you can find here.

We went out on Saturday night to see a band called 'Chess', they are a 'Queen' tribute band and are brilliant.  We have seen them a couple of times before and never disappointed.  I,m afraid I did get quite drunk and, yes, I did suffer for my pleasure yesterday.  Back to today, we have been down to my neighbours storage space to get the travel cot, high chair and other bits and bobs ready for Hollie and her Mummy & Daddy arriving on Thursday, so expect lots of piccys on here at some point in the next week or so.

Todays card, I just love, white on white.

I love these Marianne dies, large butterfly and small ones -CR 1205  & LR 0158.

LR 0236 for the trellis shape.

Cuttlebug embossing folder for background.

Ribbon and a button from my Mums button tin.

Here it is with a sentiment added.

Happy Birthday Allsorts Challenge Blog Hop

Good Morning All

Today is the Allsorts 4th birthday and what a coincidence, it is mine on Monday too, so double celebration, and for this reason, we are having a      BLOGHOP.     And my SON and DIL and HOLLIE are arriving on Thursday so it is a triple celebration for me.  Woo woo.

FOR THE BLOG-HOP
Please start on the Allsorts Challenge BLOG and hop over to each blog listed and pick up a letter from each one.  Once you have all the letters sort them out into a 'word' then submit  it on the challenge blog and it will go into a draw.  There are two prizes, one from Pretty Little Ribbons and one from Stix 2.

Each of the DT members are giving an individual prize of their own too, so when you leave a comment on each of their blogs you will go into a drawer (not literally LOL) for their prize too.  So there are loads of opportunities to win a prize, so get going and HOP.

Here is my prize, a pack of 50 sheets of gorgeous hand made papers, a pack of patterned paper, PLUS, as it is my birthday too, I will put in afew surprise gifts too.

I will draw a name for a winner  from the comments left on this post next Friday.  In fact, I will get Hollie to pull a number out, as she arrives on Thursday, woo woo.
JUST BEEN SHOPPING TO ADD AFEW MORE GOODIES TO THE PAPERS ABOVE AS PROMISED.

You should have hopped here from Jo's blog.

My letter is 'G'

Now you need to hop over to visit Helene

6 days, 23 hours and 50 minutes and Hollie will be arriving with her Mum ad Dad, am I excited?
I cant flippin' wait, I feel like a kid myself, waiting and counting the days until I go on holiday.

As you can see, she has her sunhat and her sunglasses ready.

                                                                *******************

I bought these fairy die cuts ready cut from the famous shopping site.  I found a charm that matched perfectly in my box too.  The lovely black trellis die cut was sent to me by the lovely Ginny here.  Paper was a freebie in Card Making Magazine.
