About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Craft Club Gifts & Sketch

Good Morning All
Jenny Lawrence's name was drawn on Friday so I will post a little gift out to her, thanks Jenny for playing along.
*******
Instead of a sketch this week, I thought we would try something a little different.
So the challenge I set my Craft Club ladies is to make a card with more than 3 different shapes on, not counting the base card.

This came about because I am trying to clear my box of scraps AGAIN.

The triangle die cut has been there since John moved back to UK.
I know this because it is one of his dies I cut before he left!!!!
So I have used - Triangle, Oval, Square and Circle

*******
The gifts I gave my Craft Club ladies.

Once again, I made boxes inspired by Pootles on You tube.

I had already bought these fine tipped glue bottles, so I added afew homemade embellishments.

In The Pink for Allsorts

Good Morning All

Allsorts challenge this week is hosted by Susan and she wants to see lots of PINK.

I used lots of Satin Pink Ribbon and a Topper that I have had for ages.

The gingham paper is actually Wrapping paper.

I punched out two dark pink hearts to contrast the paler ribbon.

Sponsor is
Stamp Addicts giving a
15gbp voucher.

Engagement

Good Morning All
One of my best friends in UK messaged me last weekend to tell me another of her daughters was getting engaged.
Katie is a twin and a little younger than my youngest son.
All our kids grew up together and went to the same schools.
Sharon has 4 kids and one got married last year so she is excited about planning another wedding.

This is the card I made for them.

I coloured the reverse of the parchment in yellow and orange to make it nice and bright and a Happy card.

Again, the plate mate came into play as I could write their names and words with it.

Sentiment for MAWTT

Good Morning All
She wants the sentiment as  the focal point on your creation.

I used this lovely sentiment from
I added an organza bow with one of my Dangle charms on.

The papers are from Phill Martin paper pad and I used the leftover piece inside with an oval die cut to write on.

Groovi New Home

Good Morning All

I made this card for my crafty friend Lyn who moved back to UK last year.
She has been waiting for her house to be built and finally. a couple of weeks ago, she moved in.
Here is the card I made for her.
I matted the parchment onto rainbow paper and I think it looks really nice.
I used a couple of plates and wrote the words with the plate mate which is really handy.

I still miss Lyn but wish her and Bill well in their new house.

2 Cards for Friends

Good Morning All
Here is a couple of cards that have been received by the recipients, our friends Andrew and Amanda.
First was Andrew birthday, he is a rally car fanatic but I didn't have a rally car die so the nearest I had was a racing car.

The second one was for their anniversary a couple of weeks ago.
I'd had this quilled heart made for a while, so I used the scraps of corrugated card as a base.
Sprinkled some heart gems on and some paper flowers and one of my bow embellishments.

Very happy with how this turned out.
They loved it too and Amanda told me she keeps all my homemade cards.

Groovi Men

Good Morning All
A couple of Men cards using my Groovi plates.
Still learning and these were two of my first so very simple.

This first one, well I have to admit had a  big mistake on.
I did the D back to front and I couldn't waste it so stuck the green label over it!!!
Thought it would do for a Fathers day card.

I bought a Groovi plate with Planes and Hot air balloon and Helicopter on, suitable for Men cards.

I do love the Groovi system.
Was always abit dubious about getting it as quite expensive and in my mind, I thought it was cheating on parchment craft.
It is proving more expensive as I NEED more plates.!!!!!
One of my Craft Club ladies has ordered one too so we can swap plates, !!!!!

Sketch and Craft Club gifts

Good Morning All

This is my interpretation of the sketch below for my little challenge at Craft Club.
I used a decoupage pad I received free with an order from Joanna Sheen.
Ribbon from Crafty Ribbons Here
The background I made when playing with  Izinks and masks last week.

These are the gifts I gave out on Friday, small boxes with a hinge lid.

Each one contained a Rocky Chocolate biscuit and a couple of my stick pins.

I just love these pieces of ribbon from Crafty Ribbons HERE
I bought a bag of off cuts for a quid and they are perfect for adding to tags.

Sadly I had not made enough, so Val J had to do without, she will be getting an extra one next week.

**********
Here is a different craft.
One of my Craft Club ladies Jen, made this lovely bag from drinks can ring pulls.
It looks great in real life.
Well done Jen.

And here is the sketch if you want to play along.

Enjoy your Sunday.

The ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons bargain bag of offcuts.

This was actually my practice one but it turned out fine so it is going in my Christmas box.

It will be filled with goodies for a gift for someone.

I cant wait to see everyone's creations for this theme.

Sketch Gift

Good Morning All

This is an example of the little gift I give to the randomly drawn name of Sketch entrants.

I make a little box or a bag and add a couple of yards of ribbon, some charms and pearls or gems.
This is one box I altered.

I bought afew of these packs of 3 eggs to give as gifts at Craft Club.

I thought the boxes were to good to bin, so decorated them.

I covered it with pretty paper then decorated the top with tiny flowers, leaves and a small picture.

Then I fill with afew goodies.

Just a bit of fun and the ladies seem to enjoy it.

JND Gerbera

Good Morning All

The Craft Club that I run here in Spain has had to move venues due to Paul closing the bar after the death of his partner last month.
Our new place is upstairs and I cannot keep the boxes there that I left at the other bar.
These boxes contained my Cuttlebug and Val J's  Grand Calibur, assortment of papers and card etc. etc.
All this stuff is far to heavy and too much for me to carry up the stairs so I have decided to choose just one set of dies and one set of stamps along with the Cuttlbug for the ladies to use.
This is what I am taking with me this Friday - JND Gerbera Stamp set and co-ordinating dies.
Some inks and a brayer.

These are some of the flowers I made.
This started as I was making a card for a DT project
(which I cant show yet obviously)

The three cards below are all using the negatives from the diecuts backed onto patterned paper.
All the same colour scheme and all the bits used from the sheets I started.
I use left over pieces of paper to decorate the inside of my cards now as I'm trying not to have any leftovers.
Any pieces that are too small I use for butterflies  and die cut labels for sentiments.
