Pink & Butterflies

Good morning All

The challenge at Moving Along With The Times is Pink & Butterflies and I am hosting it this week.

Pop over to the challenge blog to see all the other  gorgeous DT creations, and we have three new ladies joined us this week on Team A.

I used S/B Butterfly Circles die for this one and cut in pink and white, inked the edges and put brown Liquid Pearls on. The sentiment is stuck onto an X Cut labels die but I do use these all the time so not counting in my dies challenge today.  I had the lovely little butterfly charms in my box so put onto a pin and stuck under the ribbon.

Inside I used S/B Belly Band Die 5, I know this can be used to create a lovely band for a card but I just cut two shapes in pink and brown it put inside my card.

Dies Total = 60

(I,ve got more dies than I thought I had and still got some to show)

Flourish

Good Morning All 
My eyes are a little worse today but not sore at all, I look abit like a panda LOL, but feeling alot better in myself, so back to crafting today!!!!!!

A DL card and I used a Budding Vine embossing folder mounted onto blue card.  The flowers are dies I have used before, Cheery Lynn Roses and Chrysanthemums but the swirls are Sissix
Decorative Flourish.  I used a little Gilding Wax to lift the embossing.

Pink & Green

Good Morning All

This is the sorry sight in the mirror this morning.

Yesterday I felt my vision was not quite right and it must have been because the bridge of my nose was swelling so my glasses weren't sitting correctly,  so the bi-focal bit wasn' t right.
So this morning my eyelids are bloody and swollen. Still feel sicky and shaky inside, and of course a headache.

I love this Cheery Lynn Ivy Corner Flourish and I have matched it with Marianne  LR0168 for the Centre flower.  I,m still on a mission to use lots of old stuff and the bead pins are some of the first I ever made.  The white embossed background card is used bought cards that I get given, so I use the plain pieces for embossing.

I used a pearly Gilding Wax on the pink centrepiece but it doesn't show too good.

Dies Total = 57

Nearly there now, if anyone had asked me how many dies I had, I would have said about 20 to 30 LOL, and now I am upto  57

Hearts Again

Good Morning All

My friend Val loved her Birthday card I showed yesterday.

I,m feeling abit sore today, I took a tumble down the stairs on Saturday evening as I was going to get ready to go out.  I dont know how I did it but fell the last couple of stairs and smacked my head against the floor and the wall, so two nice large, very sore lumps on me noggin and very bruised right knee and shin. And I think I jarred my neck too, as my shoulders are sore.
 Ooh how I want to get a flat all on one level!!!!!!

Todays card is Hearts again, I have already done one featuring a Heart die and this is another one  but using Cheery Lynn small hearts DL128 and the bigger heart is X Cut Filigree Heart.

Dies Total = 55

When I set myself this challenge I thought I would have used them all within one month,  LOL how surprised am I.!!!!

Afew left I,m afraid but not too many.

Vals Birthday

Good Morning All

Yesterday was my friend Vals Birthday and this is the card I made for her.

I found out just before Christmas that she loves to dance, a right little raver when she goes out!!!! so I used this Tonic 'Party Heels' die, I thought would be perfect for her.

Good Morning All

The challenge at Allsorts today is 'Any Occasion other than Birthday' and is hosted by Tracy.

I chose to do a Sympathy card as my charities do require a fair amount of them unfortunately.

I matted a Sissix 'Iron Gate' die cut from Centura Pearl card  onto green patterned paper and black card.

I used the Leanne die again for the flower, and added Gilding wax.

Brown Frame

Good Morning All

Hope you are all well and looking forward to St. Valentines day tomorrow.  We dont really celebrate in a mushy way, we are going out for an Indian meal but we dont buy each other gifts.

Using Broken Jewellery

Good Morning All

On this card I have used some pieces of broken jewellery that was given to me.

The gold and pearl piece on the bow is one and the other is in the centre of the die cut, it is like a diamond stud.  The die used is S/B Shapeabilities Pendants in Spades cut in silver Mirri card. I embossed a piece of white card and added some Gilding wax.  I  mounted the sentiment on

  S/B Scalloped Hexagon, this is another one I use alot for sentiments.

Elegant Swirl

Last night I went into my blog to enter afew challenges and some of the photos had changed, so I had to go in again and put the correct ones there, has this happened to anyone else?  It  happened to me first  in January, really creepy.

Todays card features  two Spellbinders dies, Heartfelt Creations Layered Elegant Swirl 

and

  Grommet Tags

I have done this style of card before.



I used one of the Grommets tags on the outside and one on the inside, there is, infact three in the pack.

My Minds Eye paper and I've used the remainder for the inside once I had cut pieces for the fronts.  I have started doing this so that I am not left with loads of odd pieces of paper.

Below are my first couple of attempts and she makes them from all types of paper.  This one I made by joining 2 pieces of 12 x 12 paper to get a bag that was about 9 x 10".

18th Birthday

Good Morning All
I had my  hair cut yesterday at a local English salon that trains hairdressers and they did not charge me for it either.  I used to do this when I lived in UK, my hairdresser took on a trainee and asked me if I would let her practice on me, I was quite happy to oblige and will do the same here, so in a couple of weeks she is putting a colour on for me, I will let you know how it goes.

This is the Envelope album  that I mentioned yesterday, I made for my neighbour  Susie, it is her birthday on 27th of this month. Tomorrow I will show you the bag I made for it to go into.

Susie is like me, she had a gorgeous Grand daughter back in the UK, so I thought she might like this to store photos of her.


I put 12 envelopes in so that she could use one for each month or even one for each year, depending how many photos she has.

These days most people store photos on computers or memory sticks, as I do, but I do print some and put them in albums that I have made.

 I lined each envelope with different patterned papers and stuck all sorts of embellishments on too.

 and I used these pink shapes and lined some with acetate so she could add  onto any page as a tiny photo frame or use some as tags to write on.

Best Friend

Good Morning All

Busy weekend and we came third in the quiz last night, and now going to village to have my hair trimmed too.
  I was trying a couple of new things yesterday, one was making paper gift bags and the other was a gift for my neighbours birthday in a couple of weeks, an envelope photo book  I will try to slot them into a post this week to show you.

Good Morning All
We went out for a lovely Chinese meal last night with my Spanish teacher and his wife, very generous portions and the bonus was, they served my favourite brand of vino blanco!!!!
A very enjoyable night and we go to a Quiz tonight and one round is going to be about Chocolate so I may have to do abit of research on that one!!!!!!

I was asked last month to make a card for a big QPR fan, I am asked each year to do one for the same bloke, but obviously being a 'man' card  I had to keep it plain.

I used X Cut nesting Rectangles for the image and then one of

S/B ribbon tags trio for the sentiment. 

I do get stuck for ideas when I,m asked to do a footy fan card.

'Love Is All Around' is the theme for this weeks challenge at Allsorts.  Sarah chose this theme and very apt as it is coming upto St. Valentines Day.

I used a cute LOTV topper, matted and layered onto red card.  Red ribbon and homemade flowers and sentiment tag. The bunting die used on this belongs to my friend Val so doesn't count in my challenge.

Good Morning All

I really do like this card, I think it is quite stylish.  I think the black and gold paper makes it and this was given to me by Linda.

I used the Marianne LR0236 which I really do like.  I cut it from Centura Pearl card and added a Hobby Arts stamp and heat embossed in gold.  I decorated the inside using X Cut Nesting Rectangle but used this one before, and some waste from a die on the corners.

Pastels

Good Morning All

Moving Along With The Times is all about 'Pastels' this week and this theme has been chosen by our team leader Hazel.

So pastels for me meant 'baby card' so I used all small bits of pastel coloured card and used my Sissix Scalloped Squares die and cut a large one and four smaller ones.  All stuck onto pastel rainbow paper, odd bits of ribbon and a 'New Baby' charm.

Good Morning All
Back to Spanish class for me this afternoon, I have missed 3 weeks, as two Wednesdays were hospital visits with the lump on my back and last week I was back in UK visiting Rick, Lorien and Holliepops, so I have had alot of catching up to do.

I made this one for Lorien, my DIL, whose birthday was in January.

This is my second Sue Wilson die,  Bevelled Glass Striplet and I love the effect it gives.  Decorated it up with Cheery Lynn Roses and a squidged homemade flower.  The vellum topper is from a set I,ve had for years and still got quite afew more to use, infact I used a similar one for my other DIL whose birthday is in March.

Didn't John Next Door do well on C&C on the Toolshed on Sunday?  He definately has the knack of explaining things so well, I think he will go far in the crafting TV world.  It was lovely meeting up with him last week at his Workshop at Creative Expressions HQ.

Todays card is a Sympathy or a Hugs card.  I,m featuring 2 dies on this one, both from Leane Creatief.  The outer leaf one is Leane 001 no. 45.7667 and also has a full nesting set for the middle but I used Leane  Multi Flower die no. 45.8510 instead of all the nesting shapes. I do like these dies and they emboss really well.

I used Gilding Wax on the leaves in a silver colour, just to make them pop out abit more.

I have made a VERY bright card and it features Marianne CR1245 for the swirl and leaves

and Marianne LR0158 for the butterflies, I do use this one quite alot as I love butterflies.

The other dies I have used before.  I found the butterfly ribbon in the local China shop, I thought it was quite pretty.

I used an LOTV topper featuring these cute bunnies.  The white lacy die cuts are part of a Tonic die that belongs to one of my craft buddies here in Spain so I cant count this one in my challenge.  All the rest is from stash.

When I was in UK last week I bought myself a 'Learning to Crochet' Book, although I can crochet I want to learn how to follow a pattern and how to increase and decrease so that I can crochet some pretty dresses and clothes for Hollie and the new baby.

Here is afew pics of Hollie wearing a headband I made for her from the book, it only took about 15 minutes.

She is going for a sleepover to her other granny today and here she is talking to her, Lynne is telling her to be a good girl while we were in Weatherspoons having our evening meal on my last night there.
She is so funny, a right little character and so much fun, it was so hard saying goodbye.
