About Me

Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have a daughter, Aurora, born March 2015. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. xxxx

Blanket and Book

Good Morning All
I have finished this lovely blanket for Aurora.  Megan asked me to make one like the one I made for Noah HERE.  So I had to look at it and work out how many squares were knitted and how many were crochet.

So this is work in progress, fathoming out which squares go where.  I crochet it together with grey, just like I did Noahs.

I am very pleased with it and I,m sure Megan will be when I take it with me at the end of April for my visit to see Aurora Stephanie, she will be nearly 8 weeks old by the time I get there.  Flights have started going up already, for Easter so I had already booked mine for after Easter.

                                                             *********
Also, I wanted to show you this book John Next Door made for me in December when I was there.

It is a spiral notebook and he covered using a Faux Leather look.
There is a book mark too and it fastens with ribbon and I keep my pen in there.

I have only just started using it because it is too nice to use for anything that is not to keep, if you know what I mean.

I decided to make a list of all my dies, after doing my personal challenge to myself, to use them all at least once.

So I try to keep them in order, that they are written in my book.

I put little Sticky tabs on the pages so that I can find what I am looking for quickly.

In another part of it, I keep a note of the You Tube videos I want to keep looking at -----
Like crochet stitches or any other technique for card making or crafting.

And another part I keep sketches and plans/designs of cards or boxes I want to make again.

  6. I love the blanket I'm a passionate knitter and crocheter So I will go and visit Noah's John's book is lovely (you lucky lady) and what a good idea to make a list of dies I have a couple of "old" dies and some "new" dies that I've never used I'm a CDROM crafter and cut out the dies and measure them that sit in a folder with my laptop so I can make my toppers/sentiments the right size to fit So another book with a list of the more intricate dies with ideas and videos to re-visit is just brilliant

  8. Hi Wendy,

This is stunning, you are so clever, I am sure it will be treasured for always. I still have the crochet shawl that was made for my daughter 34 years ago.

Beautiful book that John made for you, I was going to make a similar thing for my two children last Christmas but never got round to it so hopefully this year lol!

    Love & Hugs

  11. Hi Wendy
What a gorgeous blanket. It looks so cosy especially on this cold, wet day.
I use my notebook to scribble card designs in so its usually next to me for when inspiration strikes (not very often, lol!)
The faux leather is so tactile on it so its nice to stroke lol!
    Have a great day.
